Alida stood outside the door to the coffee shop for a moment, peeking in the window, and wondered if Aru was there. She hadn't visited for a while, and had been in town to the library, so she thought it would be nice to visit. She hoped he was doing well... and didn't mind that she'd been away for so long.
Eventually, she took a breath, and pushed open the door, taking another breath of much more heady air than that of outside. She loved the smell of coffee, and could happily sit all day in or near a shop.
She fidgeted a moment, before choosing an empty table, and taking off her scarf. She took a pen from her pocket, and pulled out her ever present notepad, and thought about what she wanted to order.

A woman with blue hair in double buns came up to the young girl holding out a menu. She was very asian in appearance. Her name tag read 'Yuki'. "Hello there miss, what may I get for you today?" she sad as she tilted her head to the side.
In the back of the cafe, where the arcade was, loud noises could be heard. Artificial gun shots, glass breaking, laughing.. "NOOOOO! YOU BROKE MY HIGH SCORE!!" .. and the loud screaming of a skinny black man who was bouncing about in the room holding onto his dew-rag. "Only because you suck." Came a familiar voice, Arukoru. He was currently playing House of the Dead 2, and as Kaz had just screamed, beat his high score. "You've never even made it past the first level before!" Aru added, Kaz looked from his crouched position on the floor. "Yeah but I perfected the first level.. Unlike you!" "Oh how I weep for you." Aru smirked, completely sarcastic.

Alida took the menu with a shy smile, and bit her lip while she looked the menu over. She turned the menu to the lady, and pointed at "Cafe Mocha" in the menu and looked to see if it was approved.
She jumped a moment later when a loud scream broke through the air, and looked around for the source with an anxious look on her face. Her gaze drifted across the shop to the arcade, and it was there that she spotted Arukoru. In a moment her anxious expression lit up into a far more happy one. He was here!
She realized she was still holding the menu, and with a slight hunch of her shoulders, she hurriedly handed it over to the waitress with an apologetic expression.
'I'm sorry,' she signed, hoping she was remembering correctly that Yuki knew sign language.

Yuki smiled and nodded her head as she took the menu. "No problem dear, it'll be ready in just a few minutes." she said, before she headed back behind the counter.
Aru walked out of the game room and looked over to the counter, his hands in his pocket while an unlit cigarette hung from the side of his mouth. "Yuki, I need more quarters." He said, before his eyes scanned the rest of the room. His eyes shot wide open for a second as he pulled the cigarette from his lips, quickly stashing it in his pocket as if he was trying to hide it.
"Alida! Long time no see." He beamed, walking over to greet the girl. Kaze blinked at the woman as he stood behind Aru, holding his pants up by the crotch. "Yo man, dat yer bo?" he asked, getting a blush and a sharp glare from Aru. "Shut up! She's my friend, you clown." he retorted. He often called Kaz a clown because he wore pants three sizes too big.. It seemed fitting to those who weren't familiar with urban culture.

Alida hadn't seen Aru stash the cigarette, due to having taken up the notepad to write a few notes. But she had heard him speak, and after finishing what she was writing, she smiled at him as he approached, rising from her seat.
'You're looking good, Aru. I missed you, so I came to visit,' she signed, and then peered around him at his friend.
'Who is this?' she asked, smiling at the other man politely, and bobbing her head in greeting. She wasn't sure what to make of his statement... what exactly was a 'bo'? And why would it make Aru irritated?

Aru glanced over his shoulder at Kaz, who was doing the same by peering over Aru at Alida's hands. Kaz did not know sign language, which came to Aru's advantage as he began signing back. 'This man is the equivalent of a red assed baboon that can't figure out his real pant and shirt size.' he said, before he smiled and spoke the next part.
"His name is Kaz. He and his boyfriend Bri are two regulars here. But Bri had to go do some shopping today." he said. Kaz walked over to the girl and held out his hand to shake, if she listened carefully, she could possibly hear the faint dutch accent in his urban gibberish. "Yo nice ta meetcha shortie. Are yeh a mute like Ol-G?" he asked. Aru rolled his eyes. "His name is Oliver.." he groaned, he hated it how Kaz could never say peoples names right.

Alida bit her lip to stop a smile from getting too wide at Aru's comment. She didn't want to laugh at the man. Instead, she took Kaz's hand, shaking gently.
She frowned a little at the word shortie, not sure how to take that. It was true she was a little on the small side, but... she decided to ignore it and instead nodded in response to his question.
She looked at Aru, and asked, 'Does he give nicknames like that all the time?'

Aru nodded his head. 'Yes. I don't think he's capable of saying entire words and names like a normal person.' Aru signed back.
"One Cafe Mocha." Yuki called from the cash register as she set it on the counter. She then smiled over at the group, realizing that Kaz was being a bother. "Hey Kaz, can you go in the back and get me some tea bags? We're out of the cinnamon red chai." she said, winking at the two children. "Righ'o way Y-dawg!" he said before he slid under the lifting counter door and threw the stockroom door.
"See what I mean?" Aru said, remarking to how he couldn't say Yuki and instead had to say 'Y-dawg'.

Alida nodded, and chuckled silently. She could understand how that might be annoying. She motioned him over to the cash register and pulled out the cost of the drink from her purse.
'Thank you!' she said to Yuki, smiling. It was a refreshing change to come to a place where she didn't need her notepad. Why hadn't she come back sooner?
She looked at Aru, and wondered what he'd been up to since the last time they met. Well, start with the small things, she thought.
'What were you playing?' she asked him, before picking up her drink. She motioned over to the games.

Arukoru glanced over towards the arcade before looking back to Alida. He wondered if she was the kind of girl who would get scared by violent zombie games. He scratched the back of his head, deciding to wait to show it to her. "Uh, it's called House of the Dead 2. You know resident evil? Kinda like that. Only you don't control where you move. It's kinda like being put in a roller coaster and given a gun, and you have to shoot at zombies and monsters as they approach you. It's pretty fun.. But man-oh-man does that plastic gun make your hand sore." He said as he massaged his thumb over the palm that had held the fake gun. It would of been fine if it had rubber grips, but instead it was just square hard plastic.
"There's other games back there too, though. Pinball, pacman, space invaders.. Even an old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game."

Alida had never played many video games. Rime didn't dislike them in the house, but she was sort of oblivious to certain advances in entertainment. And here was someone who obviously had some experience with games....
She smiled and looked excited, nibbling her lower lip before asking, 'Can you show me? I've never played any of those. Just... hm... I think it was Pacman.'
She remembered her drink, and took a sip. Ahh... pure coffee/chocolate heaven. It was amazing what those little beans could do!

Arukoru smiled thoughtfully, ah, so she wasn't the type who was easily scared off by talk of flesh eating undead. "Yeah, no problem." He said, before he looked to Yuki who tossed a paper roll of quarters onto the counter. Aru grabbed them and nodded his head to Alida, before leading her into the room.
Once they where inside, Alida would see a claw machine with various stuffed animals and Japanese toys tucked inside, and right beside it a large screen and platform that looked similar to a DDR machine. Accept up at the top in bold bloody letters read "HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2" and there where two plastic guns instead of a dance pad.
Aru walked over and grabbed the red gun from it's makeshift holster in the display, before he held it out. It was attached to the machine by a cord, but it could still go out two feet or so. "You aim this gun at the screen and pull the trigger. Cross hairs will flash on the screen where you're aiming, and you shoot zombies as they come at you. If you can't kill them before they get too close, they'll start eating you." he explained with a grin. Ah, mindless slaughter.. how men loved it.

Alida followed Aru, speeding up a little to walk beside him as they entered the arcade. She looked around at the various games, the claw machine catching her eye, but she obediently turned her attention to the zombie game once Aru started explaining.
She eyed the outstretched gun, looked up at the game doubtfully, then asked, 'You want me to try?' she hesitated, then continued, 'I thought I was going to watch you play first. I guess I could...'
She reached out her hand for the gun, and looked for a place to set her drink down. There didn't appear to be any tables...

Aru fiddled around with the roll of quarters he was holding. "Well, I can play first if you want. It can be two player, if you wanna play together." He said, as he fished out two of the little gold pieces and tucked the rest in his pocket. He glanced up and saw that she was looking around, before he patted a flat spot on the gun platform. "You can set your cup here. It shouldn't damage it at all."

Alida nodded and set her drink down, and said, 'Let's do two player. I just hope I don't make us lose,' she added with a roll of her eyes.
She wasn't really that worried about it. It was only a game after all. But she would like to impress Aru if she could. She pointed the gun at the screen, checking how she would hold it once they started. It seemed a little awkward, especially with the cord, but she thought she'd manage.
