Ohhhhhhhh what a niiiiiiiight~Curls were beautiful, and bouncily curly. Crown was perfectly positioned, snug between both ears. Wings fluffed, leg bands aligned to perfection.
Glancing down at her reflection in the lake, Lady Luck knew she looked glamorous, a truly beautiful sight to behold. Few appreciated the lengths it took to be beautiful, but nevertheless, the strain and effort would always be worth it to her, even if nobody around her appreciated it. Ah well, her day would come (for it always did) and someone among the barbaric creatures in this land would appreciate her for the struggle she made daily to keep herself looking as lovely as she was. Only time would tell when it would happy, and Lady Luck could be quite the patient mare, when she wanted to be.
Humming to herself, she smiled as gold tipped wings continued to primp and style, making sure every hair was in place.

 Elena was grazing when she looked up towards the lake, admiring the view yet again. This land was so beautiful, if a bit rough around the edges. To her surprise, there was another Soquili there!
She paced over deliberately, taking care to nibble at the delicacies found here on her way. Soon enough, she found herself at the edge of the lake.
"Good afternoon," Elena called out to the other mare.

Had she been only a bit more caught up with herself, Lady might not have heard the voice calling out to her. However, the cheerful greeting rang out as clear as a bell from the other female voice, and the older mare (though she wouldn't dare think herself truly a day older than this newcomer!) turned her head to see who approached.
Her breath was slightly taken away as her golden eyes first lay sight on the beautiful work of art that was strapped upon the snow white mare. While she had her own crown and arm bands, this mare had a whole fashionable contraption strapped upon her mouth and back.
How peculiar! Lady thought to herself as she eyed the approaching female. How very peculiar indeed! She was beautiful, Lady would not argue with that, but at the same time mystifying. Did the mare not see herself as a natural beauty, and thus felt the need to enhance her looks with her large amount of accessories? Lady herself wore her crown and bands merely to enhance that which she already possessed, but this mare seem decorated from head to hoof with pink and golden items. Lady herself was particularly fond of the dainty golden hearts dangling from the ribbons on her back contraption, and the golden heart dangling from her neck. Though, while fascinating she was still... simply peculiar!
"Good afternoon," she echoed in a response at last, nodding her head in greeting as her body turned to follow suit with her head in facing the approaching greeter. "Beautiful day, is it not?"

Elena admired the beautiful wind Soquili, with her gorgeous dark purple coloring shading into pink and red into white, which set off her gold tipped wings and gold and purple streaked mane beautifully. Truly, the stranger was a beauty.
"A beautiful day indeed," the white mare agreed, the lilt in her voice slightly more pronounced now. "Even more beautiful than usual, for these lovely lands."
She looked over to the other mare. "My name is Elena, what's yours?" the younger Soquili asked cheerfully.

"......Lady," she said slowly, her eyes fixated on the white mare's attire once more. The sun glistening off of the golden and pink outfit simply intrigued the older mare to no end. Where in the world could she have acquired them? Did she have a two-legger that spoiled her endlessly with beautiful presents? Or perhaps she was lucky enough to have found it somewhere, and adorned it upon herself as if they belonged to her in the first place?
"Lady Luck," came the finished answer, and Lady's eyes rose back up to meet Elena's. "And these lands are lovely, but deceiving. For while the land may be breath-taking, its inhabitants typically are far from stunning, both personality and physical appearance wise. You're not from around here, are you, Elena?"

Elena dipped her head in greeting. "A pleasure to meet you, Lady Luck!" She was a bit worried about the older mare's intense examination, but shrugged it off. Why would such a beautiful Soquili mean her any harm?
"I must admit, you are the first I've met since coming here," the white mare replied. "I shall have to take your word on the appearance and personality of the others who make their homes here. And you are correct, I am not from anywhere around here." Elena ducked her head, suddenly a bit shy. "It was a long journey, over many roads, over much water, and through many lands where there are not yet roads to travel."
She paused, admiring the view once more before returning her gaze to Lady Luck. Such a beautiful mare. A unique coloration with the minimum adornment needed to emphasize her features wonderfully made her quite a striking mare.
"And you? Are you from around here?" Elena asked.

She nodded her head, as if knowing all along she was right in her assumption that this Elena was a foreigner. Her appearance certainly did NOT match that of a typical 'regular' around these parts, horrid brutes, but she seemed more delicate and petite... well, rather like Lady herself!
Her nose wrinkled as she gave a small scowl at the question aimed in her direction. Her? From around here? Did this mare already forget what Lady had said about these beautiful lands? For she was nearly positive that the younger mare wouldn't be attempting to insult her, though the words may as well have been one, from the way they were interpreted!
"No," she said curtly, tossing back her gold and black streaked mane, "No, I am not from around here! Full of brutes and simpletons, they are, and I find myself to be neither category, and would thank you to think the same."
She paused, and decided it would be for the best to hold her tongue from further snapping at the innocent looking female. She looked to hold no bad intentions with what she said, though Lady, as always, took things to heart.
"Perhaps, though, if you're new," she started, glancing away from the horse, "You could probably use a guide of some sort?"

"Peace, peace!" the white mare replied, laughter in her voice, eyes sparkling. "It was worth asking, you know. There are aberrations that do not suite the basic type of a group, from time to time," Elena pointed out chidingly. "It is unfair to lump all together into one group, because then individuals who stand out cannot be recognized."
Elena reminded herself to stop lecturing and finally got her tongue to hold itself still. It would do no good to alienate the lovely Lady Luck, her only acquaintance thus far in a strange new land.
"A guide? That sounds like a wonderful idea!" the white mare replied enthusiastically. "Do I take it that you're offering yourself in that position?"
