I was wondering... what color do you use for a basic caucasian skin tone? I bought a set of 24 for the first time... but there isn't a pale flesh color; the peach is way to orange-ish.

this is really a question for Euclid, but i've known marker-users to depend on colors like creme, eggshell, or light peach with a pink color in it.
but...i don't know for sure. wait for the Marker God to find this thread mrgreen

Marker God, Kirio? xd lol. You give me waaaay too much credit.
*cough* Anywho.
Asaia, you're perfectly right. Unless you're going for a very stylized color scheme, the regular Peach is waaaay to pinky-orange. The Pale Peach and Eggshell are good for bases. The Eggshell yields a lighter, more yellow color (Ivory-ish, perhaps?), but I the Pale Peach is a pretty good base as well. Cinnamon Toast, Light Walnut, and Brick Beige are also some of my usual Prisma standbys for skin tone shading. I tend to toss in a bit of blue (Sky blue light, to be exact) for some extra depth.
Now, if those colors aren't quite right and you're willing to spring a little more, the Copics have a very wide range of flesh tones. I have a few, but I use my Prismas just as much and mostly in coordination. The Copic Pink (RV11) is a softer, muted pink than the Prismacolor Pink (which is a very bright Hot Pink), so it also helps bring out depth.
But yes. The basic 24 set is a good starter for figuring out what to start collecting and what direction you want to go in, but it's awful for skin tones.

I was able to get to an art store and grabbed all light skin colors I found: Light Peach, Eggshell, and Light Walnut. I think these will work. ^_^ Thanks for the help.

URGENT UPDATE ON MARKERS:
I don't know if this also occurs with copics, but I do know now that Prisma Orange and Yellow will bleed forward onto the page in front of it if you are coloring in a sketchbook. One of my pencil drawings is now ruined because of that. I'm now placing blank sheets of paper in between my marker pictures to see if I can prevent more of my drawings from being ruined.

So far I'm liking any combination of these colors... Cream, Eggshell for base, and for added shading Deco Peach, Deco Pink (at least cheek area), and Brick Beige.
I like markers best on bristol so far XD At least it doesn't bleed. If I try them in my sketchbook, I'll keep that in mind. I usually skip pages though for that reason.

You know... I have some bristol board at home... I really need to use that stuff. I used it on one picture, and it did take the marker very well. biggrin
