Bill, Terry and John go out together for a night of Karaoke and booze and are joined by Bill’s girlfriend Susan. The plan for that night was John crashing at Terry’s to save a taxi fare but this didn’t happen.
Terry and John both agree Bill has quite a catch there. John even says to Bill that he’d love to have a girfriend that’s as kind and attractive as Susan. Terry checks out Susan and often hints that he’d rather like to plow Susan, which although being good friends, causes Bill minor annoyance.
They have a pretty good night getting hammered together only John has been pretty foolish and mixed his drinks! He feels really sick and decides to go home and sleep it off. Terry was gonna see him off but ditched John when his favourite song was played at the bar.
The next time John and Terry meet up, Terry tells John he wishes they’d both left at the same time as Bill got so wasted he needed to be carried home. John and Terry have a good old laugh about thing. The next time John sees Bill is when they’re doing a shift together at work. Bill can’t remember much about the night out!
John does tell Bill that Terry said he needed to be carried home but leaves out the fact Terry said he wished he’d left early as that would cause a disagreement. However one brews when Bill’s memory is jogged and he clearly remembers walking home alone after an arguement with Susan. Bill decides to ask Terry why he said something that wasn’t true as Bill is pretty annoyed about the fact that not only was Terry not telling the truth, but that he also oogles Susan.
Terry then says it’s untrue that he said this and askes who has been spreading such rumours. Bill doesn’t dignify the text with a responce as he views Terry as being immature in this situation. It is true that John doesn’t directly confront Terry about this himself but John agrees it’s a silly situation that started over a reasonbly innocent comment except John now thinks that it wasn’t so innocent and an attempt to make Bill look bad. Bill agrees this was probably the case but doesn’t see the point in taking the issue any further.
Later when John is being introduced to new friends of Terry’s, when John recieves a text from Bill asking him what he’s up to at the weekend, Terry again makes a comment about Bill. However this comment is blantantly at Bill’s expense and John tells Bill as he doesn’t think that it’s exactly fair... Bill laughs and jokes about introducing himself in that context.
Eventually, Terry actually askes Bill about what happened and then gets angry at John and accuses him of being a lier and causes John to suspect that either Terry just wants John to feel bad or that he really doesn’t remember making those comments. Although John wasn’t completely straight with Terry about telling Bill about what was said, John is still pretty ******** off that Terry views the end of his friendship with Bill as John’s fault, as John never completely got on with Terry and they had frequently had falling outs. John never has that problem with Bill.
John is begining to suspect the moral of this tale is if you think what a person says about someone else is bad, either shut up or have it out with them and don’t be two faced about it or it all becomes a huge mess and then you come out as the person in the wrong.
(Yeah posted this with my mule w/e!)
