Ah, what a lovely day. Lovely, lovely, lovely for sure! Just, absolutely, perfect. Or so Safi thought as she bounced along happily, paw light on the spongey ground. So it was a little wet... she wasn't made of honey (though she was sweet enough for it), she wouldn't melt from a bit of water on her paws.
A bright, cheery smile curled over her face for no apparent reason and she nearly danced as she bounced along, her pink eyes occasionally scanning for a form of a richer gold than her own. Big Sis should be up ahead... She'd gotten cross again with Safi for her near-endless chatter and decided it was time for some silence. Well, fine with Safi then. If Sybarite needed it, then who was she to tell her no and force her bright and cheery personality on one so grumpy?
Safi giggled as she spotted a rock, jumping up onto it and tossing her gently curling headtuft from her face, getting a bit of a better look-around from the new vantage point.

It was only a little ways from where he was to the Swamp Lands where Soo, the mother of his cubs, resided. Though blind, she was the most caring, loving, and kind female he knew aside from his mother. Two daughters and one son, all off on their own to seek their names, as was the pride's traditions. Shu, his son, was the one he connected with the most but that was how things were, right? Father and son? With his presence gone, it felt like it was another string of his heart pulled from him. First it was Ewan and now Shu... He still prowls around the swamp's borders, waiting for his return and his daughters. Though an unofficial member, he stuck around because of Soo and cubs.
But he cannot help but think about the only love he knew in his life; Ewan. So charming, sweet, kind, loving, it was hard to imagine anything negative about the male. Deep down, Dumu knew it was true, their love, but the way they departed from one another, to clear their minds of all doubts, confirming any that may linger, about their love for one another. Was it Dumu seeking comfort or was it Ewan seeking company? He knew it may have been for comfort, but love cannot lie. If only Dumu had any idea where that male was, what he was up to. He could care less what he had done, as long as Ewan knew that he had his heart, then all was going to be fine... just the tinyest bit of information would send him off seeking.
However, today it was just another day of walking and waiting and thinking. The cursed adolescent looked up to the sky and just hoped that if his children did return, it was before dark...

Safi blinked, wide-eyed, as another lion came into view. Looked like a dark red youngster, a male on the brink of adult hood. She grinned as she lowered her head to get a better view, still perched up on her rock.
"Hello there!" She called brightly as she flicked her tail, seeming to almost glow with all her good will and joy. "Hi! Do you live around here? I'm new, you should know, and I'm not entirely sure where I am. Is there a pride nearby, and are they friendly?" Safi practically bubbled with questions, struggling to keep them short and to the point. Any other time, she would have babbled on, but she didn't care to scare away this stranger who could prove very useful to her.
Plopping her backside on the rock, she sat back to wait for the new male's response, the thought finally occuring to hope he wasn't a mean or dangerous lion. Things like that just never occured to her when they should.

He looked up to the voice and smiled. It was a stranger, one not native to the pride. He was kinda glad that she wasn't, he did not quite want to stay too much longer. Soo was living her life and his cubs were grown and ready to get out on their own. However, he was disappointed it wasn't Shu, the one he was hoping to return back home from a name trip. It was a sudden leave that he was not quite aware of until late. He was at that age and as pride tradition states, he had to go find his name. The male had planned to leave to seek out what he had left behind, the reason why he still lives at the moment, still thinking about the past. The stories he told... it was what kept him going and what made him happy that he may one day get back to what he had before. at the very least, have Shu back in his paws.
"Hello there!"
Yadumu calls out, getting up to move over to her. She was very vibrant in color and the air about her just seemed so nice and kind, almost wanted to make him hum again, but that too was reserved.
"I do not really live around her, I currently stay because a litter of mine is homed here. However, I do know a thing or two about the things around here. The only pride I know of is the swamp pride, down in the marshes. Very structured life style and they have quite a few traditions, but they are a nice group."
He replied with an honest answer with the knowledge he had obtained over the past couple cycles.
"Name's Yadumugandama, Dumu if you please. Could I ask you something ask well?"

Safi's brow furrowed in puzzlement at the long name, clearing as she seized on the shorter nickname.
"Dumu! It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Safi'kidege, and you can call me whatever you want." She giggled softly as her ears perked forward, relieved that he seemed to be a nice male. "Its too bad you don't live here, but good that you know some things. I just want to make sure no one's going to attack me or something for just wandering around. I do that a lot and I know some prides aren't real welcoming."
She blinked in surprise at the thought of someone his age having a littler of cubs. "Oh, my! You're a father? I'd never have guessed, you look quite young for it. I've never had cubs, but I suppose it must be nice to have little ones to look after. My sister would be better than me though, she's always telling me how silly and flightly I am." The bright lioness giggled again as she tilted her head.

"Pleasure to meet you too, Safi."
He smiled and dipped his head a little. It seemed a bit too formal but the action was done. He was glad that he was of some use while he was still here, it would not be long now that he leaves it behind. He is proud of his litter and proud that Soo was happy for them, but this was not where he was really needed, or where he wanted to be honestly.
"Don't you worry, if you keep going in the direction the sun rises, you'll reach the Pride Lands, it is the safest place you'll find around here, but if you cannot travel that far, the swamp pride is quite nice."
Dumu looked at her as she gave her quizzical look. Oh great, here it comes.
"Yes, I am a father of three. Two daughters and one son. I only look young, but I may be very much older than you. It is nice, but it is hard to let them go. Sometimes I could have kept them little, but now I could take them places much more easily. ... Flirty?"
He paused.
"Safi, have you ever met a lion that had soft white fur, the softest red mane, the most beautiful blue eyes, and a black butt? Perhaps one that looks similar to me but more gray like a rock?"
My get a lead... anything will do at this point

Safi giggled again as she shook her head. "Flighty! Though, I guess I'm flirty too." She laughed. "And I don't know... you don't look older than me. I guess you can never tell though... I might be happy to see my children off when they're full grown. I like playing with little ones, but I know they're a lot of work to raise."
She wrinkled her nose at that thought, not liking the idea of having her fun kirbed by cubs demanding attention. Dumu's question pulled her up and she blinked a little as she thought about it. White fur, red mane, and lovely blue eyes? A grin curved over her face as she giggled.
"i'm afraid I havn't. I'm sure I'd remember a handsome lion like that. I don't think I've ever met a lion that looks quite like you either." She chuckled as she rose finally and slipped down from the rock, bouncing lightly on her dainty paws. "I've met a lot of lions, just not the ones you're looking for. I'm sorry. While we're on the subject though... have you seen a golden lioness with eyes like mine, and a pale, spotted blanket over her rump? That'd be my sister, Sybarite. She's supposed to be nearby, but we got seperated. I was looking for her when I spotted you."

"That was what I was questioning, silly! But I guess you answered my question; you are flirty. Don't try anything on me, I already love someone sooo it won't work."
Dumu smiled softly with a reply. It seemed with this one, he could be a little more social and playful, something he needed to get back into. He did not want to become old and stuffy, he wanted to remain young and playful, but responsible as an adult. Having her remind him of his appearance was a little irksome, but it was unavoidable.
"I'm older than you know, Safi. I could be as old as you, perhaps older even," The dark red male chuckled, sighing off at the end. "Seeing them go is great, but to know that they won't need you anymore is where it kinda hurts. It is watching them grow up is what makes it all worthwhile."
"I see... I guess my trail hasn't even started yet, but I am determined to find them. It's unfortunate but I haven't seen your Sybarite either. I guess I cannot find Ewan and my son, Shu, and you your Sybarite. Perhaps she is in the pride area."

The yellow lioness giggled as she waved a paw playfully at him. She knew she was a shameless flirt sometimes, there was no use in denying it. "Oh, don't worry, handsome. I know when to practice self-restraint." She chuckled.
Her shoulders lifted in a shrug as she came to stand beside him, looking delicate and all together fluffy. "I'm not worried about Sybarite. Sometimes she says I drive her crazy and then she needs time alone, so I pretty much do my own thing till we meet up again. It works well for both of us, because she gets a break and I get to go have fun without her being all frowny at me." She made a face as she stuck out her tongue, her nose wrinkling.
"On that note... would you like to walk with me for a bit?" She smiled as she looked at him, her face imploring. "I'd like to talk to someone for a while and I'm pretty much on my own right now... And maybe we'll happen upon one of those you're looking for!" She seemed to gain animation at that idea, even more energized and happy than she was before.

"That's good then, I find it sometimes that those who can are rather elusive as of late."
Dumu laughed as he watched her careful with silver eyes. She was a nice looking female and she was quite the peppy one too, but he was not interested in the tinyest bit but that does not mean he cannot be friends with her.
"Well, Shu is on one of the pride's traditions to find his name. I am just worried that he is hurt, or perhaps worse. I just hope he does return soon. I could go on for days about Ewan... but I shall spare you that story."
He could literally go on for days about Ewan, the love of his life, the day he finds him, he could finally relax and live the life he really wanted. He just had to be patient and keep on his search.
"Sure thing, I think a walk would be nice."

Safi giggled as she struck out with a little bounce, the purple beads around her neck bouncing against her fluffy chest with every step.
"Well, I don't much like to over work myself when its not going to do me any good." She chuckled. The yellow lioness could restrain herself somewhat, as she said, but nothing could get her to stop completely. It just wasn't in her nature.
She tilted her head as she looked back at Dumu. "Quest for his name, huh? I've never heard of that before. I thought a name was, you know, something your parents gave you when you were born, I didn't know some people need to go find it." That thought made her giggle. "If they don't have their name till they go find it, what do you call them then? I think that'd be really confusing." It seemed like a silly concept for her, but then, it was probably perfectly reasonable to the pride and those doing it.
Safi led the way at a sedate pace. Even though she seemed to dance and bounce about, feeling the energy of spring around her, she moved forward slow enough that he wouldn't be stressed to keep up with her.

Dumu followed at his own pace behind the bouncing female with a smile on his face. She was nice to talk to.
"Questing for a name is how the pride finally decides on their name, I guess. I named my son Shu, but I guess he is going to quest for a longer name. He too is like me, he looks like me but in a gray shade of fur, yet both of us are older than we see."
Dumu laughed a little, it was Soo's pride, it was the cubs' home. This pride was how they lived, who was he to question their methods and traditions. Though his brood and friend is here, he always had a little fear of breaking a rule or something.
"So, Safi, want to tell me more about yourself?"
Looking down at his paws he noticed that he wasn't close to her. That was right, it had been a while since he had to actually think about his abilities as a seer. With Shu, the girls, and Soo, it was just natural and nothing was usually new. With Ewan, he was so much more opened.
"Do you... have anything to hide from me?"

The lioness shrugged as she flicked her tail, smiling gently. She didn't really understand how he could look so much younger, and yet be older than she was. But it didn't really matter, did it?
His wish for her to talk about herself was a little suprising and she giggled softly. "I don't know, there really isn't that much to tell about me. I'm a pretty simple girl. Syb and I share the same father, but our mothers are different. I'm the younger sister, and when my mother died, Syb was there to take care of me. I didn't really know my father, he was never around, and I could never get close to Syb's mom either. We've been wandering a lot, now that I'm old enough to be out on my own, and I think its doing a lot of good for both of us."
She blinked in curious surprise at his last question, shrugging. "Not really. Like I said, I'm pretty simple... And if I did, it wouldn't be anything big, just some little bit of vanity." She giggled. "Why do you ask?"

Dumu stopped in his track and tilted his head. She seemed well off on her own and he was still struggling. Perhaps because of his adolescent body, it was hard for him to get much respect as the way he was. Who knew he was cursed... cursed to be stuck as an adolescent, a curse that was passed down to his son. It was a task that could not be helped.
Dumu looked at Safi and down at his paw before moving closer to her. He simply had to touch her and anything she is willing for him to know. He reached out to her paw, hesitated and looked at her.
"I'll warn you know... once I touch you, I may know things about you that you may have forgotten yourself."
Touch Vision... a skill he has not used in a long while.

Safi continued on a few steps before she realized Dumu had stopped, turning back with a curious expression. Soft ears perked up, she came back to stand beside him, her gentle eyes wide as he reached for her.
Now, the yellow lioness might be a bit of a flirt, but lions she hardly knew didn't normal try to touch her... She only had real physical contact with Syb, and only when her older sister allowed it. She didn't draw away from the contact though, curious about all of this.
"Um... okay... If you really want to, its okay with me. I'm a little confused why, Dumu, but its just a little touch, right?" She giggled as she tried to lighten his suddenly intense mood. The wing markings along her sides rippled as she sat back on her haunches, prepared to let him do whatever it was he felt he had to do at the moment.
