Thankfully things had been quiet since Tethra's chance meeting with an old clanmate, seeing as the circumstances weren't very favorable. With the winged one's touchy secret still safely kept away from her alpha -at least to her knowledge- she couldn't take a chance at anyone or anything exposing the truth. If someone had seen... if even a whiff of rumor reached another Ahnleh clan member's ears... she didn't want to even imagine the consequences. A logical mind would admit that a truth could not be withheld for much longer, but Tethra would never concede. In her mind, she could live the charade forever.
A sharp shudder ran down the female banthi's spine as she finally shifted her gaze to another point in the distance. A herd of mad elephants could have paraded up to the rock she was sitting so stiffly on without her noticing, such was her lack of focus at the time. Being a vigilant sentry was just not on her mind enough to warrant her attention. Despite her trained appearance, the young female worried. Her tawny eyes drifted downwards yet again and she heaved a sigh.

She was now quite a distance from the Feral clan and was walking territory she never been to before. The dual-winged female was rather cautious to her surroundings and was keeping a watch out for anything that could pose to a threat to her. Her ears twitched to the sounds of elephants in the distance. Judging by the sound it didn’t seem close by so she pressed on, her amberish-red eyes scanning the area before her. Trying to find any other sort of banthi or possibly the other clan.
One thing she notice up in the distance was lots of caverns and if any clan was smart they would take up home in them. Perhaps the lone female should investigate those caverns? Though they be a bit far from where she was standing now. She felt like it would be a good idea just to take a peak so she started to walk again. As her eyes just glanced around she caught sight of a winged female and she lowered herself to the ground.
Her eyes slanted a bit as if the sun was bothering her eyes and the image was hard to see. The female kept absolutely still.

The hyena-tiger shook her head roughly as if attempting to force out the thoughts that were plaguing her. There would be plenty of time to brood when she was back at the temple to rest, right now it was her duty to guard the territory. Despite circumstances she took her job seriously, almost to obsessive standards. It made her feel needed.
Once the fur around her neck settled the female turned her head towards the horizon, only then noticing the blur of blue amongst the sandy grasses that were beginning to repopulate the wilderness around Ahnleh. An uncommon colour for any wildlife indigenous to the area, she felt especially convinced that it posed some danger. Her haunches coiled and she stiffened instinctively. An intruder.
The winged one puffed her chest and inhaled sharply, barking out a loud warning that carried across the plains. An odd mixture of growl and hyena-like squal, the noise was ear-piercing and clearly communicated a message of threat to the strange creature.

Of course blue was a rather stand out color and the grass did little to hide the female. She wasn’t shocked she was spotted and then rose up on all fours. The female herd the other female let out a warning growl. Scarlet had to keep up an act that she was simply a loner looking to join a clan. Slowly she walked closer and keeping her tail down “Please I oppose no threat!” she spoke out to her. Stopping in her tracks as she reached a good close distance “I am simply a loner looking for a clan to join.” she said.

Tethra narrowed her tawny eyes in response and watched the movements of the outsider with hawk-like precision. This bi-winged female looked very suspicious despite her humble plea of innocence, and the hyena wasn't about to let her guard down an inch for such a figure. "Who are you and were do you come from." She barked coldly, hackles raised as she looked about to pounce. The female looked healthy and lean, it would be a tough fight but Tethra knew she could take her down. Or at least that's what she told herself. It was her duty.
The winged one stood her ground, unwilling to give the stranger the slightest advantage. Even though this female was in the market for a clan to join, she wasn't stupid enough to lead her to Raajmuat herself. Disclosing the location of the clan temple would expose her family to danger, as the blue one was blatantly capable of causing damage herself or worse, fleeing to tell others.

The female was not easily trusting her, not that she could blame her. Shaking her head a bit and she tried to keep composure. Her tail started to sway about behind her and her eyes never leaving the sight “My name is Scarlet I was banished from my previous clan because of the alphess and I did not agree on things.” she spoke the truth. If the female wanted more information of her clan past she would be happy to tell her. Lowering her head “I do not wish to fight. I only seek a new clan.” she spoke.
If she was questioned about the Feral clan she would play it off as if she never saw that clan before.

Boy, can I relate to THAT one. Tethra jeered silently to herself, fighting back to urge to roll her eyes. Wasn't it the MALES who were usually kicked out of the home clan because of disputes with authorities? It seemed ironic that Scarlet would be in a similar situation - if her claims were the truth. Although it definitely wasn't her place to interrogate the prospective clan member, she felt compelled to pry as much information as necessary out of this one. It wasn't the first time a banthi was caught in a lie or with ulterior motive.
"What clan do you speak of, and under what circumstances was your departure?" The female waited patiently and cautiously. Traitors and thieves were unworthy, deserters even moreso. Murders... now that was something to be aware of. If the banthi female hadn't left on civil terms it was right for her to ask for the safety of Ahnleh.

She gave a nod "I cannot speak of the name of the clan. All I can speak of the alphess and I did not agree on things. She was rather unfair to her clanmates." she said to her and sighed a bit. Her eyes just slanted a bit as she thought of old wounds "I do not wish to own a clan of my own. Never do I wish for such a power." her tail swayed about behind her. Scarlet held no fear or tried to look suspicious at all. If the female would ask her if she has ever made a run in with the feral clan she would deny it.

Tethra grunted but remained vigilant in her glaring watch of the stranger. So she didn't want to talk about the past? Fine. From her body language she was either a very good actress or simply a clan member shunted from her home by the oppressive rule of another female in control. It didn't seem unlikely. Then again, it was hard to imagine any banthi capable of knocking around a creature like this one, what with her four wings and healthy conformation. Still, she found herself willing to take her word for it. A long pause of silence followed before the young hyena spoke.
"The clan you seek," She began more gently, though still as stern as ever. "tell me what you know of it, or what you've heard of it." It was a valid question. What stories had she heard about the grandiose clan hiding in the hills of South? It made her wonder how Scarlet had found the territory borders so easily... it was hard to believe she'd been wandering blindly looking for a new group to join.

Yes now it would be her time to try to act innocent then ever. She watched the female move about and she kept still in her place. Claws digging in the ground below her paws "You see I did not even think a clan existed here. I saw you a female that looked rather healthy to be a loner." she gave a nod and tilted her head just slightly to the right "You do belong to a clan yes? Or are you a wanderer like myself looking for one?" she had to act like she knew nothing. Worse come to worse she could always try to charm the female. Though she figured that only worked with male banthi.

Tethra grimaced, tensing her shoulders as she listened to the female. Something wasn't right in her mannerisms. The hyena mentally cursed at herself for being so naive as to mention Ahnleh to this stranger, not realizing until then that the female had been somewhat playing her for information without actually knowing anything about Raaj's clan. With this, Tethra found herself reluctant to answer anything anymore. She almost felt as is the tables had been turned in this interrogation.
Her jaw parted but she didn't telepathically respond, brow furrowing to assume an expression of clear suspicion. "I think its high-time you moved along, winged one." Her voice communicated sternly but there was clear uncomfortable uncertainty.

She tried to read the other banthi's expression and something was telling her she wasn't buying her act. Though she remained calm and keeping that confused mask on her face when she was asked to leave. Giving a nod "Very well. I will just have to continue to look for a clan to join." she looked around the lands. As she was about to head a direction she glanced back at the hyena "Just curious do you know any other clans nearby I could join? I promise to leave once you give me some kind of an answer."

Tethra was relieved the blue female was finally taking her leave. Though she prided herself in handling the situation, she still cursed herself for making some naive and very informal slip-ups. No matter she thought, it wasn't every day a strange banthi wandered in. It was only normal that she'd be rusty on her public relations skills. "That may be wise." The hyena confirmed the other's suggestion of her moving along to find another clan.
As she seemed preparing to leave, Tethra as well positioned herself in a fashion that resembled her contemplating flight. Regardless if the stranger had been a nuisance or not, she felt obliged to report this appearance to Raajmuat himself... her guilt of keeping the knowledge of the previous visitor from him still fresh in her mind. "Perhaps," She glanced over her shoulder at Scarlet once more with a parting suggestion. "There is a clan North-East of here. They reside in a cavern in the face of the great mountain, the alpha and alphess are kind to newcomers." With that she turned her back in dismissal and fell into silence.
After a short moment of quiet however, she added with the highest hesitation. "If they give you trouble, tell them Tethra recommended you." Not that that counted for much amongst the ex-clan members, but hopefully that would be enough to dispell suspicion.

Ah, so the female spoke of the Feral clan? Perhaps she had old ties with the clan? She would have to ask Faizah once she went back and give her report. Scarlet gave a light bow of her head "Thank you very much." so the female's name was Tethra? Oh she would keep this area and this female in mind once she returned to the feral clan. Turning away she started to head in the direction that lead to the feral clan.
Hopefully the information she gathered was enough for Faizah. Since she couldn't try pulling this trick again in these parts.
