It was late afternoon and Durem was bustling with busy people doing this and that, getting all their errands run before it got dark. Damaris had just gotten a new dress, and was anxious to wear it. She had finally been able to buy some clothes for herself instead of her father doing it all the time. She was getting fairly bored of all the prim, perfect and poofy dresses. She was wearing a blue and white dress that screamed 'I know this isn't the 50's but I don't care'.
She had left Red at home, she knew the dragon would just get too distracted with all the restraunts and people stopping to gawk at him and she wouldn't be able to do much shopping. Even though twenty dollars wouldn't go too far, she could still get some new paint brushes and other odds and ends she might find window shopping.
She was walking down the street whistling idly to herself and peering through the many store windows as she passed them by.

"I've got my hat, and a pocket full of miracle, pocket full of--"
"Crap." Lian offered to his cousin, his voice almost snarky. Cleo, less then pleased at his comment, merely frowned and gave a rather girlish huff through her lower lip. The red panda rolled his eyes, one padded hand waving lazily. "I knew Aunt Rapier shouldn't have let you watch Family Guy."
"You don't know anything. You're just a boy who thinks Mo, Curly and.. sproingy or whatever his name is are funny." Her voice was still in that huff but the short girl lengthed her strides, little fluffed skirt bouncing with each movement. "I--I LOVE your dress!"
Her voice had rose to a squeal and Damaris, the poor girl, was instantly face-to-hair with a short little goldcrest, all but bouncing two inches from her. "Did they have it in yellow? So CUTE!"

"Huh?" Damaris muttered taking a moment to adjust, taking a step back and looking down a bit to be able to meet her eyes. "O-Oh! Thank you!" Damaris said with a broad smile. She twirled the bottom of the dress a bit, "I thought it looked neat, and it would be fun to dance in!." Damaris said.
"Hmm," She said crinkling her face trying to remember if the shop did infact have yellow ones, "Well...they had pink, blue, and I think they did have yellow." Damaris said nodding a bit, "Yes, yeah I'm sure they did." She said this time with more conviction in her voice.
After responding to the girls initial questions Damaris had a chance to actually look at the girl, she first realized she looked like she was probably another child from D-corp, then she saw her socks, "Those socks are adorable!" Damaris said clasping her hands together and marveling at the striped socks.

"It IS! It's all flowing and fluffy and - and I want one just like it! We can be like twins, except not!" Cleo clapped her hands together, beaming at the other girl. She looked like a D-Corp but who knew in Gaia? After all, there were weirder things then genetically altered kids! The compliment to her socks had the goldcrest even giddier, hopping back to thrust her leg about knee-high. "They totally don't match but I love them! They're jut average supermarket socks, though, nothing like your pretty dress!"
"Someone save me." Lian groaned, smacking his head with one hand. "Auuuugh. I can hardly handle ONE girlie girl."

"It's more fun when they don't match!" Damaris said smiling, "makes people look at you more." She said with a giggle. "I just bought this dress yesterday, I'm sure the shop would still have them." She said to Cleo, "I can show you were it is if you'd like."
"Oh, by the way, I'm Damaris." She said with a laugh forgetting she hadn't even introduced herself.

"I'm Cleo!" The goldcrest said promptly, sticking her hand out to shake the girls hand. "And the grumpy fluffy thing is Lian! He's a-GAAAAAH!"
Her statement had been cut short by a bounding bundle of Gold, Shilling having tackled her from the side. The goldcrest tumbled down to the ground, an enthusiastic dragon licking her face, squirming and the like. He was careful of her wings, the appendages fluttering wildly as Cleo wriggled on her side.
"GAH! SHILLING! STOPPIT!!!"
Lian bounded foreward, grabbing the dragon from his collar and hauled him away from the small girl. "Shilling! You know that tackling is bad!"

Damaris took an instinctive step back as the dragon pounced ontop of Cleo knocking the small girl over. The dragon was gorgeous! She was also wanted to greet Lian, however that seemed like it might have to wait.
"Are you ok?" Damaris asked rushing over to the group trying to help in any way she could.

"Ugh - yeah." Cleo almost 'grunted' out, shoving the large mass off of her body. "Lian, I thought we left him at home!"
"We did." The panda retorted, dragging the squirming, excited creature back from his cousin. "We left him with Emi. Apparently, he got out and came looking for you."
The goldcrest almost whined, picking herself up from the ground delicately and brushing her skirt off. "Shilling!" She scolded, shaking a small fist at the dragon. "You're sooo lucky I don't skin you to make myself a nice matching dragon-hide jacket!"
She paused when lian let Shilling free, the large yellow dragon scooting to his girl anyway. He butted his head against her thigh and, grudgingly, Cleo gave him a pat before looking at Damaris with a bright smile.
"This is Shilling. He's pretty but kinda stupid. He only tackles me - and other dragons. I'm fine!"

"Aww, he's adorable." Damaris said crouching down and scratching Shilling under his chin, "I bet he just doesn't know how big he is." she said with a laugh. When Cleo said that he tackled other dragons, Damaris became very glad she decided to leave Red at home, he was most definately, not the most...social dragon.
Damaris got back up and brushed her dress off a bit before turning her attention back to the other two, "Well it's nice to meet you Cleo," She said nodding at the goldcrest girl, "And you're Lian?" She said with a smile not having been able to properly introduce herself before Shilling came bounding onto the scene.

"He's cute but he's a pain in the butt. Can you imagine this tiny gold thing trying to DIVE at a big angry dragon because it's shiny and he can? It's happened before, honest. But you're right. He probably doesn't realize he can knock us on our butts." Cleo was giggling at the sight of Damaris and her dragon - Shilling was leaning nto Damaris and crooning deep in his throat.
Pets. Pets were lovely. Her thigh got head-butted as well when she stood but Shilling was quickly back at Cleo, trying to wrap around her like a cat would.
Lian grinned and offered out his hand to the small girl. Again! She was cute. He liked cute girls even though he wasn't... perverted. His new mother was making darn sure that her son respected women and treated them as such.
"Yeah, I'm Lian. S'nice to meet you. Do you have a dragon?"

"Nice to meet you too," She responded taking Lian's hand and shaking it, "Yeah, I have one, but he's a bit less social than Shilling there." She said with a smirk. She tried to imagine just what Red would do if Shilling and he met. Probably not to good of an idea.
