Flame was full of energy. It was still early morning and he had just finished running in the mountains. He came down and found a cool pond and decided to go get a drink. His coat shimmered in the morning sun and his flames tossed around like wild in the breeze.

Koorie slipped through the water of the pond, catching fish and eating them. Finally, she surfaced to breath and froze when she saw Flame. Praying that he didn't see her, she quickly slipped back under the water.

Flames ears flicked a bit when he thought her heard something in the water. He looked up and saw a ripple in the water. 'Ah, probably just a fish...' he thought to himself. He finished getting a drink and then trotted over to a tree that was near the water and lied down in the shade. He looked up and noticed some apples in the tree. He got up and rammed himself into the tree, causing it to shake and drop a few apples. He lied down again, this time with a sweet treat to eat. He looked around, wondering if anyone else was around.

Koorie surfaced a few minutes later and swam tot he shore, climbing out and dragging her lower half. She shook herself to rid her fur of water, and little droplets flew everywhere. She was still aware of a certain male still being there, but she had positioned herself on the other side of the pond.

Flame saw Koorie get out of the water and shake herself off. He wondered if the ripple he had seen earlier was from her. Funny how he kept running into her. He didn't mind though, although he wasn't sure if she did or not. He watched her for a moment, wondering if she knew he was there. He thought about going to talk to her, but decided that he was better off where he was. If he were to approach her, she would probably just get back in the water. She probably didn't want to talk to him anyway.

Koorie, much against her better judgment, cast a glance over at Flame only to be caught looking at him. Well, now she couldn't just go about her business and pretend she didn't see him. She nodded her head to him, acknowledging his existence.
It wasn't that she hated him, heavens no, it was just she really didn't know how to feel around him. He was the first one to actually try to get to know her, much less approach her. And, if she was being truly honest with herself, she would admit that she was friends with him; still she was unsure on how to really act around him.

Flame smiled and nodded back to her. So she knew he was there now, no more watching her from a distance. He stood up and stretched and walked out into the sun. The sun was bright and hot, and made his flames blaze hotter than ever. He wanted to shake his mane about freely, but he didn't want to take the chance of setting anything on fire. Had he not seen Koorie here, he probably would have gone back up to the rocky terrain of the mountains, and looked there for something to do, but now he was on his way over to the other side of the lake to talk to her. He still wasn't sure why he liked to talk to her so much. She could be so rough and cold, but there was still something from deep inside her that drew him in. Something fragile and delicate. If he could only melt the ice that shielded her heart, then he would know what it was.

Koorie watched as Flame made her way over to him, but made no movement to meet him halfway; if he wanted to talk to her so badly, he could get himself all the way to her. Her gaze was neutral, not really cold because she did know who he was, but not welcoming either.
Silently she wondered why he was so far down to the water; he was made of flames, after all, hence the name. She had a flashback to when he'd jumped into the water after her and snorted. 'Stupid boy....' She thought to herself, wondering what the hell would cause someone to willingly hurt themselves for another's attention.

Flame reached her and noticed the neutral look on her face, but he smiled at her anyway. "Fine..." he said, "Don't look happy to see me. I see how it is..." He smirked and stood beside her looking out over the water, but giving her a glance out of the corner of his eye. He didn't say anything more after that, but just stood there gazing at the crystal blue water.

Koorie snorted at his remark. "Fine, I was planning on it anyways...." A smirk pulled at one side of her mouth, but she tried to keep it from him. She noted that he wasn't going anywhere, but he was staring at the water.
"I'm not saving you if you jump in this time. You were stupid enough to have done it the first time, do it again and I'll let natural selections take it's course."

Flame just laughed. "Saving? What makes you think I need saving?"
He wasn't planning on jumping in again. He had no reason to. He remembered the first time he had jumped in. He said he would if she tried to swim away form him, and sure enough, she did. He wasn't the type to go back on his word, so in he went.
He sighed as he lied down and placed his chin on his front two paws. He looked at Koorie, "So, how's the water today?"

Koorie snorted. "Whatever, go get yourself killed; just don't come crying to me...."
Unlike her companion, she didn't lie down; she prefered to stay upright. She believed that it was more regal and to be more impressive in general. She raised an eyebrow when she was asked about the water. "It was wet...."

Flame laughed. "Wet? Really...I wouldn't have expected that..."
He stood up again, beginning to get bored with not doing anything. Being still for too long was making him jittery. He stood up and pawed at the dirt. "Come on, let's do something." He tossed his fiery head in her direction and gave her a charming grin.

Koorie snorted at his response, rolling her eyes.
She watched as he got up and started pawing at the ground. A small sweatdrop appeared behind her head as he told her to do something. "...What makes you think that I want to do something?" She raised an eyebrow, and frowned a bit when he grinned at her.

He payed no attention to her raised eyebrow or her frown and he continued grinning at her. He was standing still now, although that probably wouldn't last too long.
"Come on, don't you ever get bored?" He asked her, this time raising his eyebrow at her, although still grinning at her charmingly.
