Freaking hormones are making me want a baby. I know that it is not the best time (I am almost 17, don't have a job, a relationship, patience, ect.) but my mind knows better. It sort of sucks because I really long for the baby... but here is the kicker... I don't like kids! Lol... how strange...
No I don't have issues at home with parents not loving me or anything. It is just hormones... grr. Not only has my mind been flooded with thoughts of babies and children but I have been horny as ******** lately. Like really itching to "do the deed". Grr my body doesn't understand that we aren't living in 1902, I can't just pop out a baby and everything will be alright. (By that I mean back in the day women got married that young and had babies often, were supported well and all that jaz... but they also did nothing more than push out babies for the most part.)
Please someone tell me that they have been through this before...

OH yeah... but I do want kids someday. I've been on the "I want to have kids" thing for four years now (I'm 20), but for me it's not just hormonal, though it was early on. So... I'm not sure when it'll go away, because for me, it isn't just hormonal. (Oh, but I've heard the fastest way to get rid of it if you DON'T like kids is to work with kids. Me? It just made the desire stronger, but also made it easier to delay the desire.)

Oh honey, I've been there. I've got two kids of my own (8 and 4) and every time I hold a baby my clock starts bashing me upside the head.
When my maternal instincts go into overdrive I think about how damn expensive having a baby is. 6k for a normal, healthy pregnancy and birth, all the money it's going to take to get a crib, blankets, clothes, health care, food, the car seats, strollers and oh god the diapers! I've spent about FIVE GRAND on diapers. (For two kids, two and a half years of diapers each.)
And if that doesn't kill the urge dead in it's tracks there's also the joyous job of cleaning up after the little buggers. The average infant dirties about six to ten diapers a day. Most are pee-pee but the dirty ones are killer, especially after they start eating solids. Plus they puke everywhere and at the WORST moments.
Ugh.
If that doesn't kill the urge than god help you child. razz

When I was in grade 9 during PE I suddenly had a hormonal urge to get pregnant. It was freaky as hell. I almost went to the School Psychiatrist.

Oh my gosh, I know EXACTLY what you mean! It's TERRIBLE. I have been craving kids since I was fourteen, and that was five years ago. Thanks to my socially abnormal status, I never got an opportunity to make teh babeez but I kept imagining and imagining all the time. I still do. I see a pregnant woman or a baby and I get all broody. It's ridiculous.
RE the horniness, I didn't get horny from wanting kids, I think it's a normal thing at that age... when I was 16/17 I fancied one guy really really badly and I kept wanting to rip off his clothes and do him on a school table. It made things VERY awkward for me. But I got over him and am now with my lovely boyfriend.
Who would want me to abort until we're ready for kids. But wouldn't make me do anything. Fortunately now I'm on the pill I want babies slightly less but unfortunately I now want sex a lot less too, whereas before I was up for it every day. And my body has stopped responding so well to arousal, too, which is even suckier.
IGNORE MY PILL RANT I JUST HATE IT and so yeah, I just know how you feel.

Apparently it's not that uncommon, and I've heard about it a lot, but... It seriously creeps me out. I can't understand or even imagine feeling that way. I have never wanted to have kids. I've gone through horny phases, but never wanting-to-get-pregnant phases.
I think I used to be fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth when I was little, before I really understood it. Now that I do I'm terrified and disgusted by it. I'm actually kind of repulsed by kids and babies. I like animals and animal babies, but those are different because there's less potential to mess up their lives and they can usually take care of themselves a little bit.

I've never been broody..or maternal except towards animals. I've even ran to my mother when I was five, begging her to tell me if the stork brings everyone babies or just delivers to people that want them. Later she tells me that I looked like I was going to have a heart attack until she told me it doesn't. I figured he should be kind of like the pizza guy anyway. lol Dunno..unless I could magically deliver a litter of North American Indian Dog puppies instead of a child, I won't be feeling the need to breed any time soon..or ever. xd
