I'm in the percussion ensemble for my school. I need to learn scales for a test I'm going to have soon...I'm really confuzed. I don't know any scales at the moment. Could someone please help me?

The pattern for any scale goes whole step, whole step, whole step, half step, repeat. For example, b flat goes bflat, c(whole), d(whole), eflat(half), f(whole), g(whole), a(whole) and bflat(half). Just apply that formula to any note to get the major scale.

the step formula is great for keyboards, because it's there for you visually! i recommend getting a circle of fifths, those are amazing, and if you know it, then you can learn your natural minor scales easily, and if you know your major scales, then harmonic and melodic minors are easy as well.

B flat major scale is - Bflat, C, D, Eflat, F, G, A, Bflat, then you go down
Eflat scale - Eflat, F, G, A flat, Bflat, C, D, Eflat.

BTW these are for mallets and piano.
