Mahavir stared with a baffled look out towards the horizon. It seemed only a moment ago he was hoof deep in warm, soft sand with a blazing sun shining down on his back. Now he was knee deep in thick, frozen snow. Despite its delicate appearance, snow was a force to wrecken with. The light downfall was being twisted around in the wind and smacking into Mahavir's face. He bit down to keep from wincing at the burning sensation. Searching the area, Mahavir realized there wasn't much to shield him from the snow. Whatever trees there were had lost their leaves long ago. There were also some strange twiggs sticking up from the ground, which Mahavir assumed must have been bushes at some point.
Luckily, the snow appeared to be slowing down. Even the wind settled and Mahavir was able to catch a snowflake or two with his tongue. Shaking his hair free of snowflakes, Mahavir trudged on through the snow that had settled on the ground.

What a blessed gift from the gods themselves this was! The sound of bells and jingling reins floated cheerfully through the whipping winds and icy breath of the storm, and the glimpse of a slender palamino trotting playfully through the pandemonium could be seen for an instant. Her frozen eyes were bright with unrestrained merriment, ivory hooves all but gliding through the blanket of frozen water. The unicorn mare was crooning something to herself in her throat, a song that had something to do with a winter wonderland.
Her roaming gaze settled upon something that definitely seemed out of place within the twisting gales--a stallion. He looked as though he was having a bit of a hard time out here, though she could admire his tenacity. Nickering softly to him, the older mare called out, "Lovely weather, isn't it?" She was being completely serious, her eyes flashing quietly with good humor.
