I am LDS and right now I am participating in the bi-annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, since I can't go to the Conference Center in Salt Lake I am at home watching it live on Cable, (and taking a few notes in another window, while writing this, btw). It's a particularly important one, you might say, as it is the first directed by our new Prophet and President, President Thomas S. Monson, following the death of our Gordon B. Hinckley a couple months ago. You can hear what has been said online here, if you are wondering. However, my question is this.

In your faith, do you gather together on such a large scale, whether in person or online? What about locally? Do you go to a congregation weekly? Why or why not?

There are large scale Neopagan festivals, and given that Neopaganism in general doesn't have the sort of hierarchical organization of the mainstream faiths, it's about the only time you see lots of people gathering together, including those who are at other times purely solitary practitioners. There are other small groups - usually called groves, covens, or circles depending on the tradition - that meet regularly on a local level. As if this very moment I don't participate in specifically Neopagan meetings of that sort; discussion groups sure, but it isn't exactly a coven or circle. I've been known to attend UU churches every so often as well because I uphold many of the ideals that they do.

Most of our meetings in the Kemetic Orthodoxy are done online via IRC. In there, we met and socialse almost everyday. Also we use the House of Netjer forums. In person, we have a yearly gathering for Wep Ronwet (Egyptian New year) and we also do a once a year trip to Egypt. There are also member-run gatherings as well deending on the region (East coast, New England, etc.) mostly though, our actual form of "going to church" is we perform Senut in our own homes and have a one-on-one experience with the Aspects of Netjer, whichever Aspect wishes to speak to us that day.

Humans and gifted of my religion cannot gather often in fear of being attacked by the popes renegade HUNTERS, unless a powerful magic user is there to aid them should such a thing happen
