It had been many months since she'd come to tell Telikos and Alysida of the trouble that she had seen coming... Many months and many quiet days. It seemed as if things had gone still, perhaps just for the winter months... Perhaps for something more. Whatever it was, she didn't question it because she enjoyed the silence. The calm, peaceful times were always the ones that left her feeling more... Complete.
She had found a nice, small clearing to rest in after wandering away from the others, closing her eyes to listen to the sound of the stream babbling nearby. It was such a soothing sound; one that she had missed. Oh, there were so many things that she missed in leaving her old home behind... But she had found her companions again and, in doing so, she had found a new home. A new life, really... But could the same things be said of her new life as of her old? Was she the same mare now that had left?
Would she ever see the others that she had left behind again?

The rain that she'd been caught in had finally let up, leaving her to part ways with the stallion who had offered to protect her throughout it. The rain had let up but her spirits were still down, lost in the grey clouds that she had flown through. She should go home. She should make sure that her mother was not worrying. She should make sure that her father wasn't angry... But she did not want to. No, it was more that she was not ready to.
She had pulled in her wings to land again, dropping down just outside off the forest before starting to walk through it. The colors of twilight danced down through the budding branches, some of which might actually have leaves when she next passed this way. Spring... Spring was coming. She could already feel the warmth, even in the setting sun. No more nights of bitter cold...
Sighing softly she pulled her wings closer to herself, thinking of the nights she had spent in the cold, both alone and with others. It had been in the cold that she had met her dearest friend; the one that she had wanted to learn to fly for if only so that she might find him again. Would things be different now that it was warm?

Her head tilted slightly, ears turning to see if she could hear whatever it was that she had heard again. Movement, yes... But so soft that it had to belong to something delicate; a deer, perhaps, as it was heavier than a rabbit. No, something larger than that as well...
She turned around, brows lofting slightly as eyes fell upon the pale mare with wings and mane the color of the midnight sky. Beautiful... She was absolutely beautiful; near stunning, yes... And not paying a bit of attention to where she was going, it seemed.
She chuckled softly as she stepped aside, just barely missing behind run into by the other mare. "Careful there, dear."

"Oh... Oh!" She stepped back, startled as her head shot up, shying back with awkward steps. She had done it again, of course, as she often did. She had completely lost herself in her surroundings. "I'm sorry... I wasn't... Watching where I was going." She said softly, ashamed.

"No, no..." She said reassuringly, extending her wing to gently brush a strand of the other man's hair back away from her eyes in hopes that the young one would be able to see her soft, friendly smile. "Those who dream while waking often find themselves wandering without knowing where their hooves carry them... Deep thoughts can sometimes carry us to those who can aide us with them... If you care to use it, I have an open ear; two, actually."

She took a deep breath, releasing it slowly as she looked up to the other mare. Her voice was warm and her touch was soft; smile comforting after all that she had been through. She felt, somehow, that she could trust this mare... That there was something different about her.
"I... Suppose I was thinking far too much. I do often, really. There is just... So very, very much that it seems one should concern themselves with and I really don't want to worry anymore. I want... I want everyone to be happy and I know that they've probably been worrying about me... When they shouldn't."

"Sometimes... The best way to keep those who worry from doing so is to return to them." She nodded slowly. "They often worry because they care, no? And isn't it good to have others who care about us?" Brow lofting slightly she watched the younger mare.

"You... Do have a point." Her ears drooped slightly as she glanced down at the ground. She had made those that she cared about worry... And she was only tearing herself up over not going back. It wasn't as if her mother would stop caring for her just because she had been gone for a bit... Or as if Mordecai would have forgotten about her. They cared about her.
Smiling softly she looked up to the other mare. "Th-thank you... I... I don't know your name." She almost laughed at that, seeming shy and sheepish as she tilted her head. "But I thank you just the same..."

"My name is Astoria... And you needn't thank me, dear one. We who watch the stars do our best to pass their knowledge and guidance on to others. Just... Think of it as a message from those above." She nodded slowly. "They've already blessed you with the colors of night, now they give you their messages as well... Which means it is time for you to run along now." The soft chuckle in her voice was almost musical, her thoughts starting to drift off as she looked away from the other mare.

"Thank you, Astoria." She smiled brightly as she turned to take off, spreading her wings before lifting herself into the sky. If the winds were with her she would be able to find her mother and, perhaps, make up for lost time... Then she could find Cai...
