srr, i didn't watch Merrie Monarch this year sweatdrop . but there were a lot of people at my school that got to skip schoo cuz they had to go to Merrie Monarch! yeah, that's basically the only connection i had to it this year.

I liked and disliked it. The judges need embrace the more innovative halau.

Halau Na Lei Kaumaka O Uka and Academy of Hawaiian Arts are my favorites. They always do something different and unique and rarely get credit...plus they're really LOUD.
Bleh...I also favor them because I had Kumu Napua for 2 years in middle school and absolutely love her.
