Location: Wedge in northern border of the Pridelands and southern border of the Motoujamii Desert
A light breeze, chilled with the coming winter, tugged the cub's dark mane. Blue eyes danced as he looked at the southern horizon, at the towering trees he'd been told were there. Turning north, he looked to where he knew a desert blossomed, where sands piled into mighty dunes. Kohpi had told them about that place, the desert, where fierce giant lions lived, raised to be strong warriors male and female alike. To the east, Daddy lived.
A grasshopper distracted him, making the cub follow it. Behind him, he heard the old lioness Ishara call for him to stay near the dens. He heeded yet ignored the warning, continuing to follow the bug towards a ravine, only pausing to note the lack of vegetation. Tail flicking, he went to the cliff edge to peek.

Pipihindi was in a good mood, which was not unusual- not in the slightest. She was on the hunt for someone to play with, for something fun to do! As always, she had no idea what that would be but was happy enough to go out looking for it without any clear idea. She did her best to be careful and to not be too late- but her best wasn't too great. She was skipping along, having found the ravine not too long before Dongo showed up- and as soon as she spotted the bright yellow spot, she squeaked happily and ran over to see him, not at all concerned that her little brother was by the edge of the cliff.
"Dooongó!" she called.

With a yelp, the cub jumped and started to tumble down. Digging his claws in, he thankfully stopped himself from going far. As he hauled himself up over the edge again, he shot his dark sister a look. "'Indi, don' sca' me like tha' agai'!" In his shock and mild anger at being startled, he seemed to lose some of the consonances in his speach.

The cub gave a dramatic squeal when she saw her brother tumble over the side, and skidded to a halt at edge to look down with wide red eyes. She was glad to see he got up again, and bit her lip in momentary hesitation as he admonished her for scaring him so. She didn't mean to make him fall, and he was OK now! It wasn't that bad!
"Sorry!" she apologized, and smiled once again, hopping closer to him now- but this time more the side of him that was by the ledge- smart enough to know that if she did it that way, if he got scared again this time he would go to the opposite side- and not over the side.
"I just wanted to play!"

Catching his breath, Dongó looked at his sister. "It's okay..." He smiled big, then looked over the edge again. "I wanna see the bottom of that!" Blue eyes returned to red, dancing. "Wanna come, too?" Before she could answer, he went bounding along to find a safe way down.

Happy that this time Dongó did not jump, she joined him in peering over the edge, her red eyes still wide. At the idea of actually going to the bottom, she glanced up at him with a grin- and even before he invited her along she was nodding enthusiastically. Which seemed to be how the pair of them would handle things as he bounded of as she nodded.
"Yeah!" she agreed, and scrambled after him to help, "How will we get down?"

He paused, glancing along the length of the ravine... Or was it a gorge? He couldn't remember, but it was huge. "I dunno..." The golden cub plunked down, thinking it over. The entire length, it seemed, was nothing but steep cliff. But there had to be somewhere...
He spotted the ledge first, almost invisible unless one looked at the right angle. He moved along side it, looking for a way to it. He lay down, draping his front paws over the edge to look. He sighed, thinking maybe there was no way down there except straight.

After following Dongó a short ways, Pipihindi decided that simply following after him was not going to be much help. She would need to look too! With that in mind, she skipped over to the part of the edge she was now by and peeked over it once again. She couldn't see any good way down, but maybe if she kept looking. Inching along the edge, her eyes staying downward, she didn't even notice when Dongó found something.

Frowning, the cub looked up to where his sister was. As he got up, he started to call out to her. "Hey, Hind-- AAAAH!" With a flash of claws, he grabbed at the ground as a rock slid and his back end went over the side. Panic filled Dongó as he struggled to keep from falling. "HINDI, HELP!"

Pipihindi just about jumped out of her skin (and over the edge of the cliff) when Dongó cried out and almost fell over the edge. With a yelp, she scrambled away from the edge as she looked over for her brother- who was in quite the difficult spot.
"Dongó!" she cried, scrambling over to help him. Unsure of what to do, she snapped out at the tuft of hair on his head trying to pull him that way- her paws well within reach of him, though.

The male cub squealed, clawing at the rock with his hind paws. "OWOWOW! MY MANE!" Not that it was MUCH of a mane... But that didn't change the fact it still hurt! Suddenly, his left paw found a root and thus footing, pushing him up over the cliff's edge and tumbling into his sister. "AAH!"

She knew better than the release her brother while he was half-dangling over a cliff- and it wasn't until he was tumbling into her and she hit the ground that she knew it was OK to let go. She yelped and attempted to untangle herself from her brother.
"Don't do that again!" she squeaked, looking from Dongó to the cliff and back again, "Maybe we shouldn't play here."

Crawling off his sister, Dongo looked back at the cliff, wide-eyed. "Y-yeah... Let's go home, I saw my life... Flashing before my eyes..." As he started back towards home, he paused. "It was very boring."

Pipihindi nodded fervently, it was a good idea to go home-- but then she paused and couldn't help but giggle at his comment. She headbutted him as she passed him, heading away from the cliff and back towards home.
"Silly," she mumbled. It was a better note to run home on, compared to the scared scrambling after he almost fell.
