Sithis


Sithis is referred to as the Dread Father and is the patron being of the Dark Brotherhood. According to the Brotherhood's belief, every soul murdered by a Dark Brother or Sister joins Sithis in "The Void". His bride is the Night Mother who serves as grandmistress of the Dark Brotherhood.

Whenever a member breaks one of the five tenets of the Dark Brotherhood, a spirit called the Wrath of Sithis will attack that person in his or her sleep. The Dark Brother or Sister must defeat this ghost in order to gain readmission into the Dark Brotherhood. It is unknown whether this spirit is actually from or related to Sithis, or if it is merely a tool used by the Brotherhood to keep members in line.

The actual, literal truth surrounding Sithis is very difficult for the player to interpret, as virtually everything said about Sithis is allegorical. He has been defined as definitely not a god, but rather, something "else". He has been compared to an extremely cold, cloudless midnight, as well as the state of mind involved in the act of cold-blooded murder.

The Black Hand

Beneath the Night Mother are five elite members of the Brotherhood, known as the Black Hand. The Black Hand is made up of four Speakers and one Listener, representing the four fingers and the thumb of the Black Hand. Each of the Speakers gets his/her personal assassin, known as 'Silencers'.


Listener
The Listener is the highest ranked member of the Dark Brotherhood, second only to the Night Mother herself. The Night Mother speaks directly to the Listener, informing him/her of the names and locations of those who have prayed to the Night Mother for a killing to be carried out. The Listener then gives these names to a Speaker.


Speaker
When a Speaker has received a name from the Listener, the Speaker must then seek out that individual to work out the details of the assassination. It is also the responsibility of the Speakers to recruit new members into the Dark Brotherhood


The Black Hand is the ruling council of the Dark Brotherhood. It is made up of one Listener (the leader), and four Speakers, each responsible for a separate group of Brotherhood members in a Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Each Speaker further has as his assistant a Silencer, a personal assassin who handles that Speaker's most dangerous contracts. The Hand operates in secrecy, and the Silencers will likely only know the identity of their particular Speaker. Lucien Lachance describes the Hand as having "Four fingers and a thumb, if you will".

The Listener of the Black Hand visits the statue of the Lucky Old Lady in Bravil every night. This statue is the hidden entrance to the crypt of the Night Mother. Here, the Listener receives a list of those people who have prayed to the Night Mother for murder, and passes these contracts on to the Speakers, who visit the worshiper concerned, arrange the details of the contracts, and pass the orders on to their respective Sanctuaries. For a particularly dangerous contract or mission, a Speaker might deploy his Silencer.

If the Black Hand suffers a crisis and is left leaderless, it will appeal to the Night Mother. She will offer her guidance and appoint a new Listener.

Ranks


THE LISTENER:
The highest member of the dark brotherhood. He visits the nigh mother often to hear the prayers form those who wish for the murder of people. He is said to directly be able to contact the night mother, though he obtains the information from the statue of the lucky old lady. The leader of the guild is the listener.


THE SPEAKERS:

the Listener takes the information of the contracts to his personal assassins and trusted men, called speakers. The speakers tell other of these contracts, thought they sometimes fullfil the contracts as well. Speakers are appointed by the listener.


THE SILENCERS:

Silencers are the right hand men of the speakers, the speakers personal assassins if you will. Each Speaker has a silencer. They have a duty to protect their speakers and are often picked for special contracts. Silencers are appointed by speakers.


THE EXECUTIONERS:

In order to obtain the rank of executioner, you must donate [set up a trade and sumbit the amount of money] 5k guild to the guild's owner.



THE ASSASSINS:

In order to obtain the rank of executioner, you must donate [set up a trade and sumbit the amount of money] 4k guild to the guild's owner.



THE ELIMINATORS:

In order to obtain the rank of eliminator, you must donate [set up a trade and sumbit the amount of money] 3k guild to the guild's owner.



THE SLAYERS:
In order to obtain the rank of slayer, you must donate [set up a trade and sumbit the amount of money] 2k guild to the guild's owner.




THE MURDERERS:

Everyone who joins this Guild will start out as a murderer. You can do contracts, make posts, roleplay, talk, do anything along those lines.

You, like everyone else, have an opinion that matters and we, your family, are always open to listen to anything you have to see. As long as you respect others, and do not spam or ask questions [repeatedly] that are answered by these announcements you will be fine. You are not required to advance above the murderer rank, though if you may choose to, look at the guidelines up above for advancing in rank.
