I have come to the conclusion that most teenagers call anyone they hang out with their "friends", which is why there's so much talk about friend abandonment and harassment from friends in here.
Discuss.

I agree with you, I don't see my friends as actual friends. I want them to know I see them as a aquaintances, but last thing I want to do is hurt them. Than there is a chance that it be too long before i even say at least something to them.

Pretty much true.
Friend; Someone you can trust. Associate; Someone you chase around a bar with a pool cue for making a crap joke about 2 midgets, a Boeing 747 and a bear trap.

I've realized that too. I mean I call anyone I find slightly interesting my friend. But I only have 2 best friends. And really...they're the only friends that actually truly matter to me. Everyone else I kinda could give a s**t less unless they effected my personal life in any way.

My group of friends consists of about 15. None of us really have friends outside this group. Thus we have little problems of the sort.

I only hang round with a few people who are my friends. Seriously less than 10.
People generally dont like me aha.

I'm likeable enough, but I generally have more acquaintances than I do friends.

I personally am one of the people who have lost the distinction between friend and acquaintance.
Generally I see a friend as someone who I can stand to talk to without wanting to just be crass and facetious.

i determine my friends from my acquaintances by "nesessity" my friends are the ones that have built a place in my heart by induring both hardships and good times, with me. also, if they were to abandon me they would leave a gaping whole in my chest. and very "nesessary"
i would say a acquaintance is someone that hasnt been there to suport me a lot of time. someone hat if were to leave my mind wouldent be able to travel into places that we dessperately depended on eachother, therefor wouldent be able to picture my life being very much more difficult without them. they are not "nesessary".
and at the time i feel very unnesessary............... dam thats sad to think about, my friends have all helped me out, but idk how iv helped them because im the one with problems. now i feel like a burden, how depressing?
