The sun just seem to pause once it reached the middle of it's daily trail. It was a hotter than normal spring day. With not a single cloud in the sky to boot. Lea and little Lea took this nice day to visit the lake, Little lea hoping more than anything that it would be warm enough for a swim.

She was a little older now and this would be the first time she could go swimming in something other than a controlled pool. This new year was going to be full of so many surprises. Free swimming, and Dragons! She has yet to see her dragon egg, but Learwen has told her that she would get to see it soon.

As she was pushed along the concrete path Little lea colored pictures of what she thought her dragon would look like. Many combinations of dragons she had seen in books, magazines, flyers. Tex, Cody's dragon, was her greatest inspiration though. She would include his "fins" and wings on all of the paintings.

"Ayeeee!"

The shrill noise had escaped his mouth with an enormous bout of excitement. Max could feel his tail flickering about as he stared at the lake. It was dazzling, it was mystical ... It was water delivered in a manner he could not remember having ever seen before. The sheer scent of nature, and the surrounding scenery against the cloudless sky was hypnotizing. Within Max's mind, it was the work of an artist, constructed explicitly for him.

There was something wonderful about it. He could only smile and stare, breathless, from the side-lines. He could only hobble in place and whine at the slowness his care-taker exhibited; his imagination had gone wild at the thought of feeling cool water rushing over him. It would feel like the wind; bubbles would zoom by like little raise cars, nipping away, and he would pass them --- he would swim circles around ever---

"H-huh?" Max had choked, staring absently at the sight of what was consuming his time at the lake. His care-taker stood, clutching a bag, leaning over, and blowing up something that looked like small balloons. They were yellow in color, housing two blue stripes over the edges. Certainly Max had no idea what they were, and that had only surprised him all the more when the man known as Kenneth had slipped them on over Max's arms. "Q-Quit! OW! W-w-w-what is these?"

"Are these, Max." Kenneth had snorted, fixing his glasses once satisfied with how the things were on. He had then set his bag over his shoulder and had began advancing towards the lake. "Keep them on; I don't want you to drown."

Max had gaped, his tail sinking as he followed after the man. They watched one another warily, arguing the entire venture towards the water about whether or not it was safe. Neither seemed willing to budge; it was very likely the argument would have continued had they each not spotted another pair of individuals lingering about the area.

They both had frozen a moment, had looked at one another, and had then looked at the strangers as if hey may not have expected the sight on such a hot day. But not long after the seemingly quizzical look, Max had smiled. The you otter had clacked his tail on the ground. The menacing smirk of 'I knew people went to the lake!' was set to his face as he raised a hand and gave a brutally energetic wave.

"Hiiiii!" He had called out, wincing now and again at the feel of the weird rubber floating devices latched to his arms.

He was going to have to get those off some how. How was he supposed to have fun when he could barely move his arms?
