Prancing through the tall grass, Linnea wasn't exactly sure if she was supposed to wander away from the teepee. Her parents never told her she couldn't. She was really curious to see the blooming flowers up close. She had looked at them from the opening of her teepee but she really wanted to see and smell them. The little filly wondered what made the flowers grow. They were so pretty. Maybe someday, she would be just as pretty.
Linnea looked around curiously. The darkness of the forest intrigued her. What could possibly be in there? It was so dark, could they even see in front of them? She almost wanted to go in there but her apprehensive nature stopped her. When she was alone or with her family, Linnea was a normal until strangers or adventures came around. She questioned herself so much when it came to those things. So many things could go wrong! Every possibility ran through her head; that made her a good problem solver but that just meant that strange and possibly dangerous things were a no-go for her.
She continued to look and smell the flowers. After smelling one, she jumped after sneezing. Giggling happily, Linnea skipped from flower to flower just like a real butterfly.

The woods, he could deal with the woods... dark, dense... and nobody around but him. Well, he could have dealt with the woods if they were the way he thought they were. No, the woods weren't silent, and there were more things around than he liked. There were wolves, foxes, bears and everything else imaginable. The large stallion couldn't find a place to settle down and have a nap... because everything was overcrowded and made him miserable! Not that anything ever really made him happy... Peering through lifeless, dull, eyes, Andor looked ahead of him to the light of the clearing up ahead. He was no longer big on sunshine but if it was quiet it wouldn't matter much... he could find some shade and take a nap.
Stepping into the sunlight, he was a scary sight to see... A large stallion, head held low, chains dangling off his body while his dull eyes peered at the sight in front of him. The sun shone down on his body, making his bright coat seem more noticeable... but it was dull... as if he wasn't taking care of himself. Lastly, the most noticeable thing of all were the scars scattered across the large stallion's body, they made him look almost rugged... intimidating. Lucky for Andor, he no longer cared about what others thought, or about anything really... He was barely living, moping about day and night like a sickly dog.
Once again, it didn't much matter, he'd given up caring long ago. Now convinced the world was filled with horrible and cruel beings, the uni kept to himself. So, without taking a good look around the area, the stallion hauled himself over to a nearby tree and laid down in the grass. Had he been paying more attention he may have saved himself some trouble and noticed the little filly hopping around. Alas, that took too much energy and the stallion went straight to his attempt at a nap first...

At first, Linnea didn't even notice the intimidating stallion off in the distance. She was too preoccupied with all of the flowers and her own doings. This was the first time she had left her parents since she emerged and everything was so interesting. She wanted to go out and do more but again, her thoughts were constantly prodding her, telling her all of the things that could possibly go awry. The filly stopped and looked up as she felt eyes temporarily on her. Turning, she finally noticed the golden stallion. Her eyes went wide as she looked at how tall he was and the chains that were wrapped around his body.
She sighed a breath of relief when he didn't approach her. But secretly, Linnea really wanted to go see why he looked so tired. Her thoughts raced about if he was dangerous or if he didn't want to talk to anybody in the first place. She went through almost every scenario that could possibly happen including the very extremes. Taking a deep breath, Linnea forced herself to walk towards him. She didn't know what came over her but she was really curious to know about this other soquili even if trouble derived from her curiosity. Continuing to walk, she could feel her mind continuing to race. Her adrenaline was pumping a hundred miles per hour and she was pretty sure that the stallion could hear her heart go.

Hear her heart beat? Maybe not... but the filly's footsteps on the ground certainly made the stallion's ears twitch. Andor's heart raced, his head spun, and he didn't know which way to look first. Was it an Indian? Was he trapped? The stallion's ears went back, pressing against his skull as he quickly stood up and looked around. Not thinking to look behind him, the stallion slowly backed up, tail twitching back and forth. Before long he touched something warm, and knew it was something living... At that point, fear took over and he quickly reared into the air, racing forward to leave whatever it was that he'd touched in the dust. When he was a good few feet away, he stopped, turned and snorted, eyes full of obvious fear.
It was then he saw the small filly... and was unsure of what to do. He was certain its parents sent it, or maybe it was training to be evil already. Either way, it was up to no good and he didn't like it, he wasn't going to let the little, innocent looking creature get the best of him. No, you had to always be on your guard and he would be... he wasn't going to let that sneaky little butterfly sneak past HIS defenses. Good news was, unless it brought reinforcements, it proved no real threat.... The thought of reinforcements had Andor turning his head, ears pricked to see if he could find any trace of the others in the surrounding woods or thick grass. He saw nothing...
Okay, so he couldn't SEE the others, but that didn't mean they weren't there. Giving the filly a scowl, Andor basically warned her to come closer. His feet were planted firmly in the ground, lion-like tail waving behind him to show he wasn't in a good mood. About to lower his head to hide behind the safety of his horn, Andor remembered what had happened to it. Color drained from his features while he continued to look at the little filly. Had she come to finish him off...?

Eyes going wide, Linnea didn't know what to do when the strange stallion moving away from him. Her eyes almost swelled up in tears as she hid behind a nearby tree. This is exactly why she didn't take any chances! What if he had run over her or something? Now, she didn't know what to do as she cowered in fear behind the tree. Not only was he huge, he was scary too! Peeking around the side of the tree, Linnea looked at him with huge innocent eyes that were sparkling from the tears that were welling up in her eyes.
What was she supposed to do now? Linnea was too terrified to even move let alone say anything. Everything had happened so fast. She wasn't ready for this. Maybe she should go home right away. Her parents would be upset if anything happened to her. This was a horrible way for her first encounter to go. Her self-esteem was shot and her thoughts were confirmed about the world. Everything was dangerous and nothing was to be tampered with. She would be a good little girl and not do a thing wrong. Linnea frowned once more as she continued to watch him with huge eyes wondering what he would do next.

Tears, did he see tears in the little filly's eyes? He told himself it was all a trick to let his guard down and he wasn't going to do it. Crying, why else would she be crying? He hadn't touched her! Maybe that was the signal for the ambush... This thought caused Andor to quickly scan the area, once again, nothing else was there except chirping birds and other small, annoying, insects. He didn't know what to think, this filly was obviously up to no good but he didn't know how to deal with her. Any moment now he was going to get himself in trouble because he was taking too long to figure out what to do! Something deep down was digging at him but he couldn't quite figure out what it was.
The feeling confused him for a moment... so familiar and yet... so far away, it was. Quickly pushing it out of the way, Andor scowled at the little filly, trying to figure out what to say to her. The watery eyes bothered him, something was digging at him he just couldn't figure it out. What was this feeling that was buried beneath so many others? Whatever it was, he wasn't going to dwell on it, he had a situation at hand and still didn't know how to deal with the little spy. He was ready for the ambush, where was it? He waited for a few seconds in silence before turning his head to look at the filly once again. Taking an actual look at the little flutter made Andor realize... she looked scared... genuinely... scared.
He felt like a butt, but something told him it was a trick to make him drop his guard, everything in this world was a trick. To his dismay, the unknown emotion, he soon found was caring, took over and he stepped a step closer, gaze softening. "Are you... alright...?" he questioned, making sure to keep his distance and senses alert, if something jumped out at him with ropes... he'd be ready.

She wasn't even sure why she was tearing up but he had really scared her and her self-confidence was gone. Linnea felt horrible. She knew she should have listened to herself for once and just left him alone. Now, here she was in this horrible predicament. Though, Linnea knew this was her fault though and not Andor's. She shouldn't have approached him in the first place since he did seem tired. As she stood there, besides yelling at herself, she stared at him wondering what he was thinking because he looked so confused.
Linnea's eyes went wide as she watched him step closer to her and she thought a fresh flood of tears was going to overwhelm her. The flutter shrunk back behind the tree unsure of what to do. After a few moments, her head reappeared from behind the tree to stare at him again still slightly watery. Her thoughts began to race once more calculating what he could possibly do from that distance and if she would be able to get away or not. There were too many things to worry about!
"Y-yes!" She barely managed to speak aloud. Her answer sounded like a little squeak; she couldn't get herself to say anything else but she could feel her body relaxing slightly. Though for some reason, she could still feel tension coming from him. What was he thinking? Linnea couldn't completely relax until he released that tension so she was still on ends.

She was okay so why was he worrying? The tears made him worry... Of course he had worse things to worry about but the filly made him feel things he hadn't felt it so long. Things were screaming at him in his head, telling him not to do it, it was a trap, it was going to happen all over again! He couldn't let that happen... he was so confused, so lost, what was he supposed to do? He could offer to help the poor kid, and lose the freedom he'd taken so long to gain back or he could leave now and save himself. Why were decisions so unbelievably complicated? The stallion was so confused that he stamped the ground and looked down at the grass, hoping the action would clear his head. It did. ...for a second.
Why was he so worried, it wasn't like his life was worth living anymore regardless, what did it matter the way he left this earth? He'd promised himself never again, that was the difference. Never again would he let himself be put in that position... never again was he going to... He cut his own thoughts off and tilted his head, how could a crying foal cause so much trouble? He'd never been so confused! Actually, that was a lie, he was always incredibly confused. After much fighting in his own head, Andor turned to the little one, dull eyes showing little expression, his ears flicked back, plastering to his skull. Messy hair covered most of his face as he cleared his throat...
"Where's your parents... what're you doing here...?" Andor asked quickly, making sure to study the filly while he listened to his surroundings. He'd be able to tell if she was lying, little ones were never good at lying... at least, ones that young weren't. His tail flicked behind him, showing he was still cautious, he was ready. Had he known nobody was really going to pop out and attack him he may have felt a little foolish... but sadly nothing got through to this stallion's mixed up head.

Linnea watched him as he fought his internal battle. What a strange stallion. Still, she could not rid herself of the tension she felt in the air. And the tension kept her eyes watery as she couldn't get herself to calm down. She pawed at the ground nervously as she waited for him to speak. All of this was so confusing. All of this trouble just because of her curiosity! It wasn't worth it. She knew better now though not to talk to others. She would just cause problems for them and for herself. She just wanted things to go by without mishap.
The little filly squeaked loudly and jumped when he stomped the ground. She could feel her eyes getting watery again as her joints give way and her legs collapse beneath her. A frown took over her expression as she didn't allow herself to get up. Linnea just sat there and stared up at the stallion. She was so small compared to him and this just made him seem even bigger.
Her voice was still shaky as she replied to him, "I-I don't know. I wandered o-off. I was just l-looking at the flowers." Linnea sniffed unhappily as she looked down at the ground feeling to ashamed to look up at him.

When she fell on the ground, Andor's ears flicked forward, his heart suddenly ached for the little filly. She was scared and it was all his fault. Upon hearing her shaky voice, he realized she wasn't lying and if someone was plotting something... she didn't have any idea about it. Sighing, the stallion took a deep breath and stepped forward, chains jingling as he did so. After that first step he ducked down, expecting something to happen when he'd stepped toward the little one. After several agonizing seconds, Andor realized nothing was going to happen and cautiously made his way toward the filly. He was still nervous, and in the back of his mind things were still screaming at him but... he needed to help.
Cooing softly, the stallion spoke to the filly, "It's okay... I'm not going to hurt you..." He certainly didn't want her to run away after everything he'd already done to upset her. So selfish of him, to only care about himself when a little one was in need. He'd always had a soft spot for foals, well he had way back when he actually cared about his life. It was strange that the spot hadn't really faded over the years. He was thankful though, he couldn't imagine what sort of scars he'd leave on the filly if he'd kept up his act. Ears flattened against his skull, Andor took a quick peek around before he cooed to the little one once again, "What's your name?"
He wanted to apologize for scaring her, but something was still telling him that something bad was going to happen. Helping another never ended well anymore... he was going to get in some sort of trouble, he just knew it. Andor wanted to ask her again, wanted to question her motives, but he knew it was no use. He was a lost cause, a hopeless case, and he didn't really care...

Breathing evenly, Linnea began to notice a slight release in tension and that helped her relax a little more. Her eyes were barely watery anymore and she lifted her head to gaze up at the tall stallion. Even when he ducked down, he still seemed incredibly tall to her. Why was he moving closer to her? Was he coming to hurt her because now she was down? Watching him with wide eyes, Linnea wasn't sure if she could stop herself from fainting now. This world was so strange. Basically her second day out of her basket and here she was in a very odd predicament indeed. She prayed that this wouldn't happen everyday. She would die at a very young age if it did.
Linnea felt a little better as he tried to comfort her. She didn't understand this stallion! First, he acts more terrified of her then she was of him. Then, he seems so terribly confused as if he had conflicting feelings. And then there was all of this tension coming from him. All of these different things were giving her a headache. She was too young to handle this situation.
She watched him curiously as his body language changed. "I'm L-Linnea." Her voice was still incredibly soft and she would be surprised if he could even hear her. "W-Who are you?" If she got out of this situation alive, she at least wanted to know the name of the stallion that had caused her so much confusion.

He was still scaring her! He really was a failure! At least nothing had happened yet... was it because he hadn't quite let his guard down yet? Were they going to jump him the moment he tried harder to comfort the filly? Huffing softly, as not to scare the little one, he blew some hair out of his face and stood straight, peering around the area. Was it safe to give her personal information? His name? Was that even her real name? One look down at the shaking foal told him she wasn't lying, and she truly was scared. In fact, she didn't look old at all, definitely not old enough to plot against him... but she still could be a decoy, Andor told himself. A name was safe, was it not...? If anyone was looking for him, they already caught him at this rate...
"Andor, Andor's my name..." he spoke softly, not wanting to scare her any more than he'd already done. "Linnea is a pretty name..." the male said absentmindedly, still looking around, worried. Some passerby may have gotten a strange image, the way he was checking out the area as he spoke to the child... it sort of seemed like he was a ******. Luckily for the little filly, Andor had problems, but they weren't that bad. He was worried, yes, but not about another catching him talking to the little one. Actually, he was worried more about being caught by... anyone...
"I... apologize for scaring you..." he tried, wanting her to cheer up so she could go back to her parents and he'd be safe again. That was if someone wasn't waiting in the brush to grab him at the opportune moment. The large stallion shivered, feeling slightly sick as more memories clouded his mind. "It's not your fault!" he squeaked as he shook his head, showing a long scar along the side of his face that had been hidden by hair. This was wrong, he shouldn't have been worried about this child... he needed to get her home and he needed to get away... quickly.

Watching him carefully, Linnea took deep breaths as she calmed herself. He seemed so unsure of himself; it was making her feel insecure. Andor... Interesting. "It's okay... No, no, it's my fault. I'm s-sorry for being such a baby..." Her voice trailed off. The foal gazed up at him as he brushed his hair away revealing a long scar. She frowned unhappily as she saw it. "Andor, how'd you get that scar on your face?" Linnea continued to frown, she didn't know the difference between questions she should and shouldn't ask. She still had much to learn about the world and everything around her. If he wanted to get away from this situation as soon as possible, she definitely didn't realize it. That was a part of being a foal, naivety and bluntness. She would probably ask him any question that came to mind now that her nerves were calmed.
But that scar, it almost scared her. How does someone get a scar like that? It must have been painful... If there was anything she was aware of now, that was pain. With her few days in the world, she realized that suffering and happiness went hand in hand. But sometimes one of them shadowed the other one. She felt sorry for those that had problems like that...

He too took a deep breath, his ears pinned back against his skull as he continued to watch the filly. Andor still expected some horrible Indians to pop out at him or some skinwalkers to eat him, not that the second would have been so bad, he'd long since convinced himself the world was filled with only hate. He could accept that maybe this one was too young to know the horrors of the world but eventually her parents would teach her to be hateful as well. Not that it mattered to him, better she was out of his hair and someplace learning how to be an evil like the rest. She wouldn't have wanted to be an outcast like him...
She caught his attention with her question about the scar on his face, it caught him off guard and he stepped back. Andor's heart pounded in his chest while he looked around frantically, hearing yelling and screaming in his head. His eyes blackened and he snorted, quickly removing the noise from his mind and looked back at the filly. Did she really want to know? Figuring she'd forget in a day or so, he tried to relax and flicked his tail behind him angrily. After a moment of silence, his deep voice spoke two single words, "Two leggers..."
His mind was far away now, clouded with thoughts of his past. He couldn't quite forget those events, the day he lost all power over his own life. It was a miracle he was still alive and yet he no longer wanted to be. Snapping back to reality, he quickly scanned the area... seeing a bush blowing in the breeze caused him to jump and look down at the filly again. He needed to get her home and get away from here, he never wanted to be in a position like this again. Quietly, he spoke, his golden ears flickering at every sound, "Come, let's get you home... the weather... might... get bad..." That last bit had been an excuse but the filly didn't need to know that.

Linnea continued to watch him carefully, her ears flattened back on her head. Frowning once more, the little foal didn't understand his answer. "Two leggers?" Did he mean the Native Americans? They were nice.. weren't they? Her teepee was built by Sisika, a Native American, and she took care of them when they needed it. "What do you mean?" Linnea continued to frown as she wondered what had happened in Andor's past.
Turning her head quickly, she looked at the bush swaying in the breeze and took a deep breath. She was afraid that it would be wolves or something. That would be bad... She was scared now. What should she do? Struggling to get up, Linnea hoped that her legs wouldn't give out. Looking left and right, it finally hit her. Where had she come from? "Uh. Andor..." Linnea paused and she couldn't help but feel bad. Now she had caused more trouble for Andor... She didn't mean to bother anybody. She just wanted to see the flowers.
Tears began forming in her eyes again, Linnea sniffled unhappily. Really, under normal circumstances, Linnea wasn't a cry-baby. But with the emotions already flying through her, it was easy for her to tear up. "I... don't remember how to get home." Her voice was barely above a whisper.
