The sun was rising over the savannah, its long golden arms gently touching each stone and tree, lighting the world one thing at a time. A young white and spotted cub made his way through the tall grass, shadows playing on his back as he walked. Jahazi had woken from a dream, and still in a groggy state he made his way to the watering hole near their den. He had woken parched and, not wanting to wake his mother or siblings, had decided to go to the watering hole alone.
As the suns rays began to brighten the day even more, the small leopon lapped at the crystaline liquid happily. His golden eyes scanned the horizon, picking out the dark outline of trees and rocks and grass. It looked almost unreal, and for a few moments he wondered if he was still dreaming.
A loud bird call startled the young male, and his eye began to twitch, followed by his tail. The morning was the only time he didn't twitch all that much, and throughout the day it got worse, especially if he got excited about something. He watched the large bird fly off int the sunrise, and he smiled lightly, just enjoying the day for it's beauties.

Off of the horizon came a golden leopon. She'd decided to leave that hollow tree behind... She was getting nowhere fast there. She weaved between rocks and trees towards the water hole, and it wasn't until she got relatively close that she realized there was another cat there. By the time she had decided she would skirt the hole, it was probably too late. She was close enough now that only a fool would not see her. However... He had a build like her brothers! He wasn't one, but... Could he be part-lion part-leopard too?
"Hello," She said timidly as she decided to take a few more steps forward. She was still on the other side of the water hole, but she wanted to believe she could trust this cat. He was, after all, similar to her brothers, if nothing else.

Jahazi saw the brightly colored leoponess before she spoke to him, it was hard not to. He blinked a few times, tilting his head to the side as his eye twitched furiously. A new friend? And she looked just like his sisters, aside from the colors.
When she neared him and spoke, he grinned in her direction, then pounced through the water to the other side. He stopped when he was close enough to her to see her spots and colors very well, and he admired them for a few moments before bringing his golden eyes to her own.
"Hi!" He said in his highly pitched voice, his eye spazzing out continually. "I'm Jahazi! What's your name? You look like my sisters, but not the same color. Are we related?" The little leopon obviously didn't know much about the world yet as the river of questions flowed off his tongue.

Kisikusiku padded a little into the water, her front toes getting wet, thought it was pleasantly cool for the hot savannah. She took note, first, of his spots. From a distance, they looked only like uniform dark spots, but when he got close she noticed that they were lined with a darker color, typical of a leopard and yet similar to her own spots. Second thing she noticed was his eye spasms. She thought them weird, but knew to be polite and not to say anything about it, that'd be mean, and she wouldn't like someone to point that out to her if their positions were swapped.
"Hi Jahazi, I'm Kisikusiku, Siku for short," the leoponess said with a cheery headtilt. This creature seemed trustworthy and nice, she would assume he was so. "We do look a lot alike," she said in response to the curious cub's next question. She padded forward, getting deeper in the cool water and padded around him a bit, inspecting such details as the tip of his tail and whether he had a mane coming in. "You look a lot like my brothers, only a different color," she said. "I'm not sure if we're related, but you're not a sibling of mine..." She said after catching his scent. She remembered specifically the scents of all her siblings, his didn't match. "Maybe a cousin or something." She said dismissively, coming to the conclusion that if they were related, that's what they were. "So what are you doing out here, Jahazi?" She asked after returning to in front of the other cub. She started to lap at the cool water as she awaited a response.

Jahazi watched her with interest as she circled him, inspecting his body. He did indeed have a tiny mane showing, indicating that when he was older it would be rather fluffy. His tail was long and thick and it twitched rapidly almost all the time.
"Hmmm, maybe you're right." He said, looking at her. He knew she wasn't one of his sisters, and she didn't smell like mom or dad, but perhaps they were cousins somehow. "Oh me? I'm just exploring." He said with a happy nod. He lapped at the water as well, his eye tick starting up again. He didn't even notice it anymore, and he watched her with golden eyes curiously.
"What about you? Are you exploring too?" He asked, tilting his head.

"Well, not really. I chased a butterfly from our den one day. I was so distracted by it, I didn't pay attention to where I was, and before I knew it, I couldn't find my way back. Now I'm lost, I haven't seen my family in about a moon..." Siku said, voice trailing off as her ears drooped a little bit. She missed them quite terribly. She looked down at the water, eyes shifting side to side as good memories flooded her, quickly followed by bad ones of her wandering and her loneliness.
But she pulled herself out of it.
"But I still look for them every day." She said, returning her green eyes to his gold. She was glad she had run into someone she could talk to today.

Jahazi looked at her with deep concern, his golden eyes filled with worry. He nodded a little, he couldn't even dream of losing his own family. He loved his mother and his siblings deeply, more than anything. He walked over to his new friend, then nuzzled her gently. "I hope you find them, I really do." He said with a soft smile.
Jahazi decided he needed to cheer her up. He back off from her, then splashed through the water, his mind racing. A game! That's hat he would do, play a game with her.
Turning back to her he grinned, his tail and eye twitching quickly now as he got excited about the game. "You wanna play a game?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. "We could play tag, or hide and seek, or anything!"

Kisikusiku leaned into the nuzzle. She was grateful for company, especially nice company. That, and especially another that was the same as her, a hybrid. He reminded her of her brothers, only nicer. "I'm sure I will, they're out there somewhere," she said hopefully.
Siku watched Jahazi curiously as he pounced through the water and then turned around. "A game... A game is a great idea!" Siku said with a little bounce before getting into the water herself. It wasn't very deep, for which she was thankful. "But I don't know which game to play... How about hide and seek?" She asked, tilting her head herself.
