An AIM RP between Kaytla and FelynNear to the Pridelands, Kileji dithered in indecision. He wanted to cross the border and explore the lands themselves since finding out which pride he was near, but it seemed almost... rude to him to enter without permission. Sad thing was, he was also somewhat shy when it came to talking to strangers, so asking for that permission was also something he couldn't bring himself to do, hence his dilemma. He was, essentially, stuck, and it was all his own fault.
With a quiet sigh, Kileji sat himself down in the tall grass and flicked his thick black mane out of his eyes. He was feeling a little homesick right now. Despite having his sister with him, he missed his parents, and his aunt and cousin, and he missed not feeling as though he had to be careful where he trespassed. And Nasibu wasn't even anywhere around this morning to give him that encouraging nudge he needed to make him be a little less... Kileji and just cross the damn border. It was all so tiring. She had come a long way with her sister and companion in tow, the three of them making good progress for their journey between the two prides. Shisi couldn't have said why she wanted to come to this place first, perhaps because it was one of the more reknowned prides in the area. She wanted to leave the home that bound her, but wanted, at least until the cubs were born and a little older, to be in an area that was safe.
With a deep sigh, she trudged along, returning to the area she had left her sister and the leopardess after a short journey to a nearby waterhole. Her stomach was swollen, large for her small frame, and she looked quite tired to be honest. Her bright eyes swept up, and immedately found the figure standing there so indecisevely. She paused, quirking a brow at him, and eyed him from where she stood.
"They don't bite," she said slowly, though her tone really wasn't one that could be identified as kind or mean. It was just a fact-of-the-matter sort of thing. Indecisive creatures really got under her skin.

Not only was Kileji shy and unable to properly make his own decisions, but he wasn't the most aware lion ever to be born into the world. Nasibu and Antigone had made a great game of creeping up on him, though eventually it had gotten old because it wasn't a challenge. He'd been glad about that, at least, even if they hadn't. But just as they had managed to creep up on him and catch him unawares, so too did Shisi this time, and with a small, startled sound, he scrambled to his feet and spun to face her.
Though, seeing that the sneaky lion was actually a female - and a pregnant one at that - he relaxed. He didn't see her as any sort of threat to him - in fact, he didn't see any female as a threat, which was just another layer of his innocence and naivety. He managed to fix a small, vaguely questioning smile on his face, his tail flicking slightly behind him.
"Sorry... wh-who won't?" he asked, in a voice deeper than one so shy and bashful should have, but more in fitting with his bigger size and strong build. Ipentshisi couldn't admit that she had ever been easily surprised, fooled, or intimidated. All in all, she was a very clever girl with a sensible head on her shoulders, and once she grew out of her childish quirks she was no longer really baffled by anything. To let herself be surprised by others meant she had let her guard down, and that was simply something Shisi did not do. She could no longer do that with her pregnancy, or the lives of her sister and the leopardess to watch over to boot. She had a purpose, and that purpose did not involve innocence and bewilderment.
"The pridelanders," she said with a slight quirk of her brow. Sure, his voice was deep, but his words were hesitant. What was wrong with some males to make them so weak? She sat sloly, curling her tail around her paws, and watched him with vaguely narrowed eyes. "I assume that's why you're sitting here, staring in their direction."

Kileji twitched just a little bit in embarrassment. So, she'd somehow figured out exactly what his problem was. Were all females that perceptive, or was he just completely transparent? Either option was troubling... just in very different ways. He would have to try to work on concealing what he was thinking... but somehow, he didn't think he'd do very well at that. After all, he hadn't even figured out how to weave grass properly, and he'd been trying since he was a cub.
"Oh... them." He shrugged his shoulders a bit, glancing over to Pride Rock way in the distance and then back to Shisi. "Well, I... I just didn't want to... you know... wander in uninvited. It seemed like a bad thing to do... you know?" Polite and courteous beyond overkill, Kileji wouldn't step over the borderline until someone told him it was all right to do so - even if they weren't a member of the pride. She narrowed her eyes on him with a little bit of a frown. She had seen his types before, and quite frankly, she always thought they got walked over. She couldn't imagine going through life being so submissive and innocent - the mere thought made her head ache. He wouldn't get anywhere if he didn't learn to simply take what he wanted. He needed someone to toughen him up, in her opinion, and teach him that the world wasn't butterflies and rainbows.
"Plently of lions wander into their lands uninvited," she said with a slight smirk, turning to look in that direction. "My sister and I wandered right in without so much as a flicker of an eyelid from most of them." She shrugged her shoulder, tail twitching, "I don't think you'd be cause for much stir either."

Hearing that Shisi had entered the Pridelands without trouble, he looked back over in that direction, his eyes skipping over the invisible borderline that separated the safety of the pride territory from the unknown of the rogue lands. Was it really all right to just wander in without letting anyone know...? Others did that all the time here? It really wouldn't make anyone angry at him... or even Nasibu, if she came with him? It still didn't seem right to him, though.
He looked back at Shisi, one of his ears flicking. "Really? No one said anything to you about it? They just let you... wander around as much as you liked?" She nodded, a smile on her face though inwardly she was cursing him for his insistant curiosity. Could he not just take her word for it? Her tail flickered again, her eyes light and carrying a sense of amusement in their gaze. "Nope, no one said a thing. There are enough males in the pride to get rid of trouble-makers should they arise, so letting rogues wander in is not so much of a problem as one might think it."
She let her eyes drift away as she brought a paw up to groom. Looking at him made her want to give him a good smack, so it was probably best to concentrate upon something else. He really was infuriating in his innocent little quirks. "Are you thinking of joining, then?" she asked casually, in an attempt to steer away from his question and in turn away from a topic that might cause her more frustration.

Slowly, Kileji nodded. "That makes sense... With so many loyal lions, the king and queen probably don't have to worry about much... do they? It must be a peaceful place to live. Safe." He'd never known such a large community life, but he had known living in the safety and comfort of a close-knit family. That's what he imagined a pride was, a big family with members constantly coming in and out. The image his mind conjured up was something he hoped to have one day.
"Hm? Oh. I... I don't know yet. I'm travelling with my sister... I don't think we're going to settle anywhere any time soon. She wants to see a lot of different places and meet new people... so we'll be doing that for a while." There was no mention of what he wanted to do, of course, because he was just blindly following Nasibu's lead, as it had always been between them. "Yes, something like that. It's quite peaceful, at least." She shrugged her shoulders, as if it truly didn't matter to her. It probably didn't. Why would she leave the safety and comfort of one pride just to be swallowed in by another? No, the area was a good place to birth and raise her cubs for a while, but she would not stay here - their task was far too important to abandon to these lands.
"Your sister?" she asked with a small, curious gleam in her eyes. She immediately assumed that said sister was the only reaosn the poor boy hadn't been swallowed up by the rogues - she probably pulled his leash. "I can understand that. As soon as my cubs are born and old enough, we won't be staying here."

Smiling, Kileji slowly sat again, looking off into the distance with a slightly misty look in his eyes. "It would be nice to settle down smewhere like that, I think. Maybe... maybe raise a family and watch them grow up, safe and happy in a pride, instead of out here where anything could happen. I think I'd like that." It was no secret to anyone who knew him that Kileji was very family-oriented. It was the most important thing in the world to him, and his only current ambition was to start one of his own.
"Yeah... Nasibu. We've taken care of each other since we were little, and now... we're looking after each other out here. It's been really fun so far, even if I miss my parents and the rest of my family." Kileji's attention was then drawn to the rounded sides of Shisi's belly, and he smiled. "Congratulations on your cubs. You must be so happy." -
