Those are blood blisters... Whether that's the word for them or not, that's what I'm calling them. How'd I get them? Well, story time!
I work the Twilight shift. Now, Thursday and Friday, Shiraz, the Midnight supervisor was double shifting, supervising for my shift also. I'm not sure where my supervisor was on Thursday, but he was there on Friday, supervising the work area next to ours where my former supervisor works now. No idea where he was on Friday, but whatever.
Now, I've been thinking of double shifting for Midnight for a while now. Even for a little while, and I thought, well, my Mom will be able to pick me up at any time on a Friday night, seeing as she wouldn't have work the next day, so why not? I also felt compelled to help out Shiraz, I mean, the guy was supervising both shifts two days in a row, and I overheard him telling Tyrone that he was going to do it again on Monday. Also, there were literally thousands of blue toke boxes, all going to Mississauga. They had a few people from other places in the building working on them as it was a lot of stuff, they took over one of the 3 Mississauga bays just to do this, and it went on since the beginning of Twilight. For all I know, they were loading them in Day sort also.
But yea, I ended up hanging around for Midnight, and I stayed until the very end, even helped Shiraz clean up after everyone else left.
Oh, fun side story. Kirk, the major a*****e that he is. Around 5am, when the Midnight shift was finished with their load, and all that was left were those stupid blue toke boxes. Well, Shiraz had everyone left working on that, but had asked me to take down the numbers and close down the scanners. I don't think he wanted me to do so much work, he mainly had me auditting people. Haha, doing both shifts he was telling people "This is my best guy." rofl But yea... As people were working, Kirk sat down and started snacking on something. A few minutes later, he decided to leave. I think Shiraz said something to him, because I heard him call out to him, but I don't know. Anyways, Kirk came to the workbench where I was taking down the numbers, and then signed out. I noticed that he blocked my view of what he was writing, which only meant one thing really... So he left, and I looked at the time he wrote down. 6am... It was 5:13am... ******** idiot. I pointed it out to Shiraz later on, sometime before 6am even came about.
Funny though. because Shiraz and I left at exactly 6am. Honestly, I'm giving that fool a chance to redeem himself, and all he does is pull that bullshit?
Back to story!
So, that thing on my thumb. Well, I was in Brampton's trailer, and we were closing the chute. In order to stop packages from flowing into the trailer, you need to push this stopper up. Well, this guy named Randy ended up closing that thing on my thumb.
Now for the pinky. I went to Barrie's trailer, because there were a lot of irregs on the grating that needed to be put into the trailer. But the guy inside, who I later learned was named Antwon... Or however it's spelt, was really slow, same with the guy in St. Kitts... And it wasn't even busy. I jumped in and power loaded so that the irregs could be loaded. Guess what happened. Same ******** thing that Randy did, but worse.
You can't see because of the bandaid, which I'm not even going to take off... It's like skinned to the 3rd degree or something. Yea, the shot is a bit blurry, but you could see a bit of the blood under the skin next to my nail, and that the nail has a bunch of white from being crushed. Shiraz didn't have any bandaids, so he put this gauss on it or something, which was good enough. It wasn't until later that I saw the other blood blister. When I first saw it, I was thought it weird, thinking that's where I skinned the finger. Then realized it was another thing on the other side of the finger.
Now how did all of this happen? Simple. Midnight shift are ******** zombies who require body parts. But really, I've never had this problem during Twilight. We all know to check, and we also push the chute up a bit so that we can close the chute after some space was made... Whether it's busy or not. Obviously Midnight don't.
So yea, I learned a lesson. When helping out Midnight. Let them handle the chute, or do it with them at least a metre away.
Irony of it all is that I have a Safety Committee Meeting this Wednesday. rofl
Oh, and I didn't go to bed until 9am on the Saturday. I wasn't the least bit tired. rofl
Ah, and none of it hurt really... The most that hurt was taking off the gauss to put on a bandaid. The cotten stuff ended up getting stuck to the skin that was hanging off of my finger and it took awhile to tear it off without tearing off the skin.
To boot, I was lifting irregs and s**t after the injuries, while Kirk did s**t all. More proof of why he's a useless ingrate.
Although, I still have to pull off a Chester Bennington.
