Hashi chuckled softly when they were all out of earshot as he made his way up to the dojo portion of the shrine.

The group of girls makes there way thru the shrine grounds to the matchmakers courtyard and join with a large group of girls ranging fro 15 to 18 and from two long lines baised on age for inspection. The matchmaker exits her house with a flourish acting like the queen of sheba for such a little old and fat woman. She walked up and down each line commenting on each girl often times rapping on the back for them to stand straighter or on the shoulder for some other grevience with her folded fan. Whe she arives at the end of the first line she takes one look at Akim and her face turns brigth red. She forces Akima out in front of all the others and calls out ever thing wrong with her leaving her crying silently with her head down. The Match maker turns aournd ans shoves Akina lightly to get back in line and leads the whole class into her house for classes.

Hashi turned his head to view the commotion. "What a noise miserable old women." he muttered under his breath. Hashi's master turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow 'Did you say something my son?" "No master nothing." he replied quickly. "She is indeed quite a pain." They both had a quick laugh then resumed their practices.

At noon when most other classes were getting out to go home for lunch a loud ruckus came form the Matchmakers building.
"You ungrateful little snot" A whapping noise followed by a soft screatch.
"Can you not remember one simple poem that you will need to say for your wedding?!" Suddenly her doors flew open and she emerged enraged. Her face bright red hair flowing haphazardly from her usualy net bun and her kimono hitched up as she drug Akima out by her hair. The matchmaker flung her down the last few steps glaring at the girl chest rising and falling rapidly from the force of her anger.
"You will never marry you will never bring your father, his soul rest in peace, honor and you will never be worth anything to your family!" She yelled and flung the empty porcelain tea pot at the girl.

Before the commotion Hashi was sitting quietly eating and sipping on tea with his classmates. When the doors opened the three boys got up and went to investigate being that it was also their duty to keep the peace. As the crow grew quickly, the two boys accompanying Hashi saw to the dispersal of the crowd, as Hashi went to quell the enraged women. He was just walking up when the teapot was thrown. In that instang the younge man jumped in to the path of the teapot. The pot shattered tearing his kegoki and soaking him with warm tea. "Matchmaker forgive me for saying, but if harm comes to this beautiful girls face and body no man will want her, and you will have to live with that disgrace. Are you not the one who is supposed to teach and protect these girls, you cannot do this if you harm them." He went silent and bowed awaiting his punishment for speaking out.

"That enough. Everyone return to your classes. Immediately, and in and orderly manner." said a soft voice from behind the crowd. "Master." Hashi spoke quietly and bowed low on the ground. "Hashi, get cleaned up." He paused. "Young lady why don't you help Hashi here get cleaned up. While I have a moment with the match maker. "Hai, master." Hashi immediately got up, ignoring the pain in his shoulder he quick moved far away from his master and the matchmaker.

Akima's tear stained face nodded at the master who spoke and virtually ran to hide behind Hashi as he moved away from the scene. " Im sorry you got injured on account of me." she spoke softly to Hashi's back.

"It is our duty to protect the town, the temple, and most importantly the people, especially the women. So, you have no need to thank me. Besides you have a beautiful face, and the cuts and scars would suit me better." Hashi chuckled and smiled. When the two got to a closed room Hashi opened the door. "I'll wait here while you retrieve the medical supplies." He walked into the room and began to take his shredded kegoki off.

Akima hid a slight man as she bowed and slipped off. A few minets latter she returned with a tray of items. As quickly as her feet could carry her she darted to Hashi's side. "I still am sorry." She muttered softly as she lightly began picking bits of porcelain out of his skin. Once all the bits were out she careful and softly blotted the area with a sake drenched rag. Every time she pulled it away she lightly blew cool air against the cuts.

Hashi was extremely calm and didn't flinch when the tea pot fragments were pulled out, nor when the sake was applied. "No harm done, remeber I stepped in on my own accord. Being regretful will not help you to move on." He smiled as he sat with his eye open watching the beautiful young girl work. "I have no idea why master would have you tend to my wound being that I am perfectly capable. Not that I am complaining." He thought to himself.

"Perhaps because I might see more than you can since the wounds are so close to your neck?" Akima supplied while rinsing the larger wounds with sake. She carefully and lightly stitched the larger cuts and once done bound fresh cut ginger to each of the smaller ones. Her small hands slid across his shoulder and back during the strips of silk to there place. She bound his arm in such a way as to not restrict movement but to keep firm pressure on the ginger. Once done she moved back and served him sake and fresh black tea with lychee syrup to drink while she retrieved a new top for him.
