well i figured since their wasn't a Skyclad thread yet and i am a huge Skyclad whore so i figured that i would make one.

I don't think i need to say anything about this band if you havent listend to the clad yet what the hell are you doing go now go forth and find an album by them find 2 get them all. well all except for A Burnt Offering For The Bone Idol which is out of print. (because the record label skyclad where on at the time lost the master tapes for the album and hence it is now an out of print and valuable collectors item for skyclad fans the vinyl version of it is really hard to come by)

but I'm really excited for this coming year because 2007 was a rather uneventful year for the clad. all they really did was tour and then near the end of 2007 the record label the band was on went under, but they are now under new management and are working hard on their upcoming album which Kevin Ridley has said many times on the skyclad forums they hope to have out sometime this year, and also they've started searching for a new label finally so this year looks to be a really good one as far as being a fan of skyclad goes. (unless you live by the Martin Walkyier is skyclad mentality then you probably could give a s**t less about what the bands doing)

and just to make this a littler more of a tldr post here an anouncment posted on the website for the bands new managment.

Offbeat Management has just taken over as managers of SKYCLAD. Skyclad are the legendary originals of Folk Metal. They are currently working on their latest album, the 14th, yet to be named. We will be working on a UK tour to promote the album very shortly, in the meantime spring and summer festival slots are coming in for both here & Europe. As we all hail from Newcastle upon Tyne, I have known and worked with the band over many years, firstly as a guitar tech & then tour manager. Over the past 5/6 years they have been doing their own thing, but with the sad death of Keith Baxter (original drummer of Skyclad also the drummer of 3 Colours Red & Therapy) and us all meeting at his funeral, a new sense of purpose and direction was born. I offered my services as manager and so we look forward, with renewed enthusiasm to put SKYCLAD back into the headlines where they belong.

for anyone who has yet to listen to skyclad i would recommend for your first listen starting with folkemon mainly because it's a good mixture of their old sound which was more trash than folk and a good mix of their sound right before folkemon which was starting to lean more towards folk Oui Avant-Garde A Chance being a good example that album was actually more of a folk rock album than a folk metal album.

but yeah anyway the recommended albums to get a good feel for them folkemon, prince of the poverty line and The Silent Whales Of Lunar Sea

and also A Semblance Of Normality so you can see how they sound with their current singer kevin ridley.
