Excitement! It's nearing time to be setting stuff into the ground. Or perhaps you already have if you're on top of things, which I am not. haha.
I'm curious as to what everyone plans on growing this year. Be it in containers or in a full fledged garden bed. I'll start off with my list of goodies! (I'm a very ambitious person)
Lettuce/Greens - red russian kale - bright lights swiss chard - gourmet lettuce blend - little caesar (romaine) - Burpee bibb (butterhead) - arugula - mustard spinach - bloomsdale spinach
Tomatoes - yellow pear - large red cherry - brandywine
Cucumbers - lemon - bush champion
Root Vegetables - Purple-top white globe turnips - french breakfast (radish) - Early scarlet globe (radish) - golden beets - chioggia beet - danvers half long carrot - short 'n sweet carrot
Beans/legumes - fordhook lima - thomas laxton peas - bush blue lake (green bean) - kentucky wonder (green bean)
Squash - fordhook zucchini - straight neck early yellow - buttercup
Herbs - lemon balm - rosemary - sweet basil - parsley
Peppers - carnival mix (pretty colored bell peppers) - early jalapeno
Miscellany - sugar baby watermelon (I got 3 melons last year!) - eggplant garden blend (different varieties) - green goliath broccoli - early dawn cauliflower - nasturtium (edible flowers!!) - german chammomile - mammoth sunflower (edible seeds!)
I already have grape vines, strawberries, lavender, and mulberry trees established too. The strawberries I planted last year and they should fruit this year.

I've never been able to keep a plant alive for a decent amount of time before, so I'd like to buy a little potted plant that I can take care of in my bedroom and watch it bloom and grow. smile

Peace lilies are next to impossible to kill. They require frequent watering, but at the same time you can easily tell when they need water by the drooping leaves. After a day or two they perk right back up.
I have one in my bedroom. [:

Childhood Dreams I've never been able to keep a plant alive for a decent amount of time before, so I'd like to buy a little potted plant that I can take care of in my bedroom and watch it bloom and grow. smile You might like Crown of Thorns. It needs very little water and flowers nonstop.

Wow, it's great seeing what everyone is planting!
I'm off to a slow start this year. It rained nearly every day for weeks and finally stopped yesterday. I planted a few seeds indoors in 5x5" flats:
basil (200% germination) -- too many -- looking for good homes lol banana pepper flat leaf Italian parsley tomato - large yellow heirloom -- Whole Foods (mis)labeled it Cherokee
Next week I hope the weather cooperates so I can plant outside. First to go in will be:
foot long beans (note to self: repair 10 ft high bean tower) lemon cuke marigolds -- lots and LOTS of marigolds
I have 6 shoe boxes full of seeds that I bought or saved from years past. I'm sure I'll find more to plant in there, don't ya reckon?! lol
What zone is everyone in? I'm in zone 7. Our last frost date is (supposedly) this month some time. With global warming, who knows....

I like davesgarden good website & good info.
I'm in zone 6. Last frost date is May 8th here. But I've been sneaking stuff into the ground anyways. I've planted grapevines and bleeding hearts in the past few days. I need to outline my beds somehow so I can put cold weather crops in. (I want to make some frames out of wood but there has been time & money issues) Unfortunately it's warming up quick, so I'm not sure how well they'll all do.

I am in zone 7. I don't have a garden outdoors. When I move out and pay for my own house someday, I will have my own gardens, but as for now I grow Catnip, Kalanchoe Pinnata, Peace lilies, and I am working on an Avocado.
