Beware: Picture Dump in progress throughout the thread. Please wear hard hats at all times. So here's the deal: Toastie has decided to open up an art shop. Sadly this means less freebies, but it also means a chance for a few last, really decent freebies. Toastie needs samples to show off her ability in all of the different categories she'll be offering. Up until now, she's been doing full-body shots in full color, but that's not the only thing she'll be offering in her shop. Therefore, Toastie needs models for her sample art. She will be finishing everyone left on the list, but sign-ups for the categories needed will begin immediately and continue until she has at least a couple of examples for each. The categories needed will be listed below the old list and pick up area along with the names for whoever signed up for them. Pick up:1. Turtle - [ x ]2. Ret - [ o ]3. Fortenra - [ x ]4. Rai - [ o ]5. Sibby - [ x ]6. Tedie - [ o ]7. sweetness - [ x ]Contest Alert!!Name the shop! Toastie's new art shop will need a name and theme to attract customers. It can be anything from snipers to food to kitchen utensils, toast related items or whatever you think adequately describes the toast and her shop of wonders. Directions: All entries must be PM'd to Heart Shaped Toastie. Feel free to post your ideas in the thread, but unless you send in a PM, they won't count towards the contest! Prize: The prize i'm offering is your choice of any item in the cash shop (since i already spent all my gold on the new items. crying ) Deadline: Entries will be accepted until one of the following criteria is met: 1. Toastie finishes all of her examples and is ready to open the shop, or 2. 15 entries are received. I will be announcing the results in the thread, so stay tuned! FreebiesThe following are categories i still need examples for. If the slots next to the example type are full, please choose another type to receive art. To request a spot, please post 1. A tektek or hosted image of the avatar you wish drawn, and 2. which category of art you want. 3. If it's line art, please specify what color you'd like the lines to be. I won't do: Overly cluttered avatars (if you're unsure whether you qualify or not, feel free to post and inquire). Hentai/naked avatars. Elegant wigs. If you see some strange names, never fear! This thread is also posted in the beta testing forums to get a little more variety. Chibi Style.Colored.1. Q2k 2. Errodu 3. [AxAROFFLE][Kay] 4. Bunai Line Art:1. Seabook Arno 2. OffSide7 3. Alterdeus Regular Style. Head ShotColored:1. Nebularuby 2. Bunny Cakes[MB] 3. Keto Enol Line Art:1. Roger Silverwood 2. 0greatone 3. Rogue Specter 4. [Spartan_Prep] Regular Style. Y'know, to my untrained eye, it looks pretty good... o.o
And the collarbone shading makes it look more realistic (better) methinks... o.o
But the fingers are, uhm... >_>( )
Yeah... that, and is it me, or is she..."lopsided" o____o( )
ANYWAYS, it's good. ^-^
and I'm guessing this is too complex? ._.( )

Methinks he was talking about her jubblies. :3 But that very well may be. Toastie made a mistake with the layer that her clothes were drawn on.
Corel Painter doesn't have a "merge all layers" option, it's got "drop layer" where you pick a layer and "drop" it onto the background layer so she was fiddling trying to merge the layer with the clothes drawn on it onto the layer with the clothes color and highlight, but it dropped to the background and by the time she realized, she had made too many changes trying to fix it to undo the mistake. Soo she ended up making a new layer, hiding all of the layers but the background which only had the clothes on it now (since you can't move the background layer up or down. GHEY.) and she had to draw overtop of all her previous lines.
Tracing isn't easy on a tablet. x.x
Also, Toastie just got good at doing fingers on paper.. sometimes.. so they kinda got botched when the tablet got involved. Next time maybe she'll use a larger canvas, do a bigger picture, and size it down to be easier to do.
Sib: If you tektek a version of you avatar with less... stuff i'll do one. :3☼ ìn my sσƒt sεrvε drεαms...

I think it's pretty good 3nodding
If you want to add more depth to the picture, one thing you can do is after you pick the base color, pick one that is dark for shadows (like you did) and then pick one that is lighter for highlights.
Good Job though! I can't draw with my tablet to save my life. I just color xp
(yeah, and I'm betting mine is too complicated too, so don't worry about it)

Teehee, I would positively adore some Toast arts. On a side note, I got a tablet last month. And I've been fiddling around with it, but not really gotten any exp. with it. xD That made me thing of using it as a fiddle, and ragnarok. xD

Turtle is nice and simple. 3nodding Toastie shall attempt Turtle when she gets home from work.
Until then, enjoy this new piece she just finished:

More vibrant colors this time, a larger drawing, and playing a bit more with the focus tool instead of blur. It softens the entire layer, but that isn't really a problem if you stick soft things in their own layer.☼ ìn my sσƒt sεrvε drεαms...

I'd love Toastie arts! They look really good, by the way. Except the first one's face looks rather pointy.

Aww, pretty arts. =] I would love a piece, but I'm not sure if my avatar is simple enough. o.O;;
Anywayz, I like bth of the drawings a lot. Turtle's looks so good! n.n~ And you can shaaaaaade. I always suck at shading people; I can never figure out where they need it.

Turtle's looks so good! n.n~ And you can shaaaaaade. I always suck at shading people; I can never figure out where they need it. It should be simple enough, i just can't do the horribly cluttered massive mounds of pixels. And that's not turtle's art. n_n Looks close now that i take a look, but it's not. sad I started that one this morning before anyone requested anything. Shading isn't too hard. smile you just need to decide a light source and think about what parts the light is gonna hit and what parts it isn't. Highlights go where it hits, shadow where it doesn't. I like to draw happy little suns on the bottom sketch layer that i erase later to help me remember where my light source is coming from. 3nodding FYI all, it took about 2 hours to do the second one, so i'll most likely only be getting 1-2 done a day, depending on how much time i have and how many problems they give me.

Ahh, thank you! Oh, I thought that she had changed her avatar and I had missed it. That makes a lot more sense now. xD I try, and I still end up getting it wrong, so I just blur a lot and hope it looks acceptable. I used to draw little desk lamps, but then it got too complicated and I enjoyed drawing the lamp more than the picture. Mmmkay. Take your time. =]
