Mawi Mai grinned as she was just about right outside of her prides lands. Once again she was out on her own for a bit. She and her sister just got back from their drum quests.
Like right now Mawi was on her rump both of her paws on the drum tapping it lightly. Her tail moving around so the shakers were moving. She was getting older, she would soon be a adolence. Something told her her and her sister might be getting siblings soon, her mother was starting to go out soon, and like her and her sister they were very much flirts.
Right now she was taking a break from her little group of boys her and her sister put togeather, they were the only two girls, no one seemed to mind, but no other girls were allowed in.

Tired white paws fell on the grass hard as Kenya looked up to the high noon sun. For once he was glad that he didn't have a dark colored pelt. The constant sun was almost torture as it was. He felt bad for Kivuli with his black colored pelt.
His plum colored eyes scanned the area until he spotted a watering hole not too far off. A smile came across his parched mouth as he quickly ran twords the water, his tail swaying back and forth happily. As he go closer, his ears twitched and he could hear the faint sound of a drum that got louder as he came closer to the water. Maybe someone was there. He needed to talk to someone, he was going to go mad if he didn't.

Mawi Mai's ear's flicked as she heard anothers foot steps coming up. She stopped her drumming, and watched a white colored male lean over to drink. She grinned, he didn't even know where she was. Behind a tree, she watched him. Just by the way he was walking she could tell her was tired, then again it was hot out.
She shook her hair out of her eyes and smiled. "Hello." She said with a slight purr and a smile.

The boy drank, leting the cold liquid rush over his tongue and down his thought. He drank so much so fast that it started to sting, but he didn't care. It tasted amazing.
His ears flicked over to the voice and he looked to see a tan female with a drum hanging around her neck. He smiled and closed his eyes, "Hello there." His mother had taught him to always be polite, and he couldn't pass up meeting someone new.
"My name's Kenya." He said as he brought a paw up to his mouth to wipe off excess water that had clung to his black fur.

Mawi shifted around taking the drum off from around her neck so she could sit up. She gave a big grin to the male. He seemed nice enough and she really didn't like girls much, other then her sister and mother.
"My name is Mawi Mai." She giggled a bit as her smile grew wider. "What brings you out here Kenya?" She'd seen a lot of older males around a lot, they were all pretty friendly. Genge was a bit of a diffrent story but he ended up nice. She flicked her tail around it the shakers clacking togeather making a nice sound.

He took one last drink of water before he sat down and looked at Mawi, "I'm on my name quest." He said a little down. He hated being away from his mother for so long, but knew that he had to go on this quest in order to please his mother and the rest of the pride.
Kenya looked around, then back to Mawi, she seemed a little young to be out here by herself. "What about you?" He asked, wanting to continue the conversation and avoiding any awkward pauses.

Mawi Mai paused for a moment. "Name quest?" She asked. She knew she had her drum quest and many other prides had 'quests' but what was a name quest. She was confused on how that would work.
She smiled at his question once more pushing the hair out of her eyes. "I am just out for the fun of it. another outing of mine."

He nodded, "It's customary for a lion to go out of the pride and find a new name for himself before reaching adult hood." He said and paused lightly, his voice sounding a little uncertain, "I can't go back until I find a new name." He said. He wondered just how he was going to find a new name, he didn't want to disappoint his mother.

"A new name?" She repeted to herself. "Whats the matter with your name now Kenya?" She asked. Mawi respected other's religions but that was strange for her. She sat up a bit. "I had to go on my own quest. I had to find my rythem. Like my theme song." She laughed a bit. This older male was quite nice. SHe sat up trying to make herself look bigger. She was younger but at the same time they had to be close in age.

Her question made him think. He wasn't quite sure why he had to change his name. His mother had told her that she also had to change her name when she joined the pride. "I think it's a right of passage." He said, not sure if that was the exact reason why or not.
A smile came across his face when he heard about her quest, "Your theme song? That sounds like it would be fun." a laugh escaped his lips.

Mawi giggled as she pulled her drum closer to her. "It isn't as easy as it sounds." She grinned and put her paws on the drum and began druming. It was a harsh sound, like something was running, a animal, then she moved her tail making a shaking sound. She explained what it sounded like, the hunt of a snake, chasing after its pray and as the pray gets tired it strikes.
When she looked up finished she smiled.

Kenya closed his eyes and let his hearing dominate over his other senses. His show white ears perked as she started to drum, the sound of her paws over the raw hide was so new to him. The sound was intoxicating. A smile came over his maw as the rattles began. He could see the story in his mind as she explained it, the drum and small bell like charms that hung around her paws and tail.
When she finished, he slowly opened his plum colored blinking a little. That sounded amazing" he said as he looked down to the instruments. "I wasn't aware that such things could make a sound."

Mawi blushed as the male talked. "I'm not the best." She gave a honest smile and looked up. "Everything makes sounds. Even rocks. Everything has their own rythem, thats my prides main beliefs." She nodded. Mawi knew a lot but that was because her mother taught her and her mother was a orignal Nchi. Mawi Mai sat up some still blushing, there was lions better then her. "I can't sing as good though. I can but its off some times." She nodded, her sister was better at singing but Mawi was still pretty good herself.

The pale lion laughed lightly at her comment. "I'm sure you're a great singer." He said as he lie down in the cool grass and yawned lightly. "Excuse me." he said when he finished, "Not sure where that came from." He looked out to see the sky was still bright with the mid day sun.

Mawi Mai blushed at his comment. She let out a yawn herself and laughed. "Its contagious." She grinned and slide down so she can sit with her drum in front of her. She sat back and started beating her paws on the drum in a nice beat.
"The rhythm of life What a wonderful sound The rhythm of life My feet can shake the ground So forget your worries And everyone gather round It's so easy, just wait and see The rhythm of life ..."
Her singing voice was soft, slightly childish tone but nice. She ended the choirs part of 'Indlovu's Song' She looked up with a blush she was shy when it came to singing. "Well?" She asked his opinion.
