This will be the most sexist presidential election known to (wo)man.
Why?
THE WOMEN.
Those who are convinced that they need to vote for Hillary because it's time a woman got into office. This doesn't just hold true for her, but also for Obama.
What are your thoughts on this?

yeah, i can see a lot of women voting for her only cause she is a woman. My mom did so in the primaries.
i also so black guys voting for obama for being black.
and ppl NOT voting for the because they are a woman and black.
i personally see all these as sexist/racist in a way.

To vote for someone simply because she has a v****a or because he is black is sexist and racist.
Yes, it is sad that only rich, old, white men have thus far been electable in this country, but that doesn't mean voting for a woman just because she happens to have been born with a v****a, or a man because he happens to have a higher melanin count in his skin, isn't sad and pathetic.
I agree that we need another viewpoint to be represented, but I'll be damned before I vote for someone based on their skin or anatomy. It's just as bad as voting against someone for the same reasons.
I'll not be voting for either because I'm not a socialist or a liberal, and I'm not about to vote for a candidate that 1. doesn't have a legislative voting record I can get behind 2. doesn't have a legislative voting record I can see [if applicable] and/or 3. doesn't have ANY executive experience.
And Obama is only even in the Senate because of a fluke. He doesn't have a long enough record to really measure, but there's plenty to measure elsewhere.
The man said he'd be willing to bomb Pakistan! Pakistan is our ALLY. Does that not bother anyone else? That's like saying, in the middle of WW2, that we'd be willing to bomb France, because Nazis were hiding there, and there might be [le gasp] French people assisting them in Paris.
And don't get me started on Hillary. "We arrived under sniper fire..."
Now, if Margaret Thatcher were an American...

I really don't pay any attention to Hillary being a woman, or Obama being black. I listen to their viewpoints, their debates, and take into account their credibility in the things that they want to take action in. It is true, several people may vote for Hillary because she is a woman, and some will vote for Obama because he's black, and there will be people who will counter-vote for those reasons.
I've heard a lot of people say that Hillary won't be a good candidate because she IS a woman, and women are known to be driven by their emotions. I think that this may be a good thing - if what is said about women is true, she'll be compassionate in what she does, and she will really be concerned about the people of the United States. Being emotionally driven is not necessarily a bad thing, and could actually be a very powerful asset in presidency. One drawback to it, however, is that outside political officials of other countries may not take her seriously.
With Obama, people speculate that he will focus mostly on helping out the African American community. I'm not sure what to think about that. At the risk of sounding racist (I assure I am not, but sometimes people interpret things in ways they are not meant to be taken), I think that blacks, asians, and other minorities should not receive any more extra help than whites. We are all equals in this country, and should receive equal benefits, programs, and whatnot.
Again, I pay attention to the viewpoints and debates, not the speculation. It would be a shame if someone was elected in based on one of those two factors of gender or race, but as long as it's a democrat in office, I'm not going to be TOO picky.

i was an edwards supporter before he left the race. he was tying/beating hillary. but he was a white man, facing a black and a woman. because of ppl who wish to vote for them for those reasons, he wasnt at the top. i feel that perhaps without those racist/sexist voters, he would have won.
but since he and obama both seem to want to help the common people, i am now supporting obama.

Yes, I am a white female. Yes, I admit to being racist AND sexist. BUT I WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR HILLARY OR ANY OF THIS YEAR'S OTHER DEMOCRATS. I want the war. Yes, I want the war. If we don't keep it in Iraq, it'll come here, resulting in another 9/11. If I were voting age, I would vote for McCain. I believe in his veiwpoint.

Dearest Sweetheart I want the war. Yes, I want the war. If we don't keep it in Iraq, it'll come here, resulting in another 9/11. I agree with 'Dearest Sweetheart' because of the above reason. Voting for someone with darker skin then the majority [where i live] or voting for them because they have a lack of body parts is basicly proving what thee entire world already thinks of us as a people. They believe that we are uneducated monkeys, to put it bluntly. And we may as well be if this is why we vote for people. No, i do not think that we should put off having a girl or black/hispanic/asian/other non-caucasion[sp?] person, but we should not want it so bad right now that we risk our country's lives. For the safty of America, these United States, dont vote for those reasons. We will end up with a monkey one day because of people like that.

We were doing fine lloking for bin laden and fighting in afganistan, the country who actually attacked on 9/11. Then, because he hadnt found bin laden yet, and he needed a way to be re-elected, bush continued his "war on terrorism" into iraq, who did not attack us. now we are still in iraq, defeated saddam, but we still never finished up in afganistan.... bin ladin is still out there. So we never had reason to go to iraq in the first place, yet McCain dont want to leave any time soon. the others do. If the war were to come here, I say we'd deserve it, disrupting iraq when we were busy enough in afganistan. these days many ppl still attack because they want us out of there, and i agree. we need to get out. if you still want a war so badly, we still got work to do finding bin laden, so we got a war with his group.

Everyone or a lot of the people I know are like we need a woman president we need an African American president. In my opinion it does not matter what sex or race a president is as long as we have someone who will protect and serve our country. Hilary in my opinion is well politcal only. End of story. Obama has a thought in my mind that maybe he will run but is a little racist. End of that story. Anyone can say I am wrong but I am right in my mind so to bad other people.

I have had personal experiences with black people in my former middle school. They were calling white girls like me gay, queer, bitches, etc..... I admit to being a little touchy on the subject because only 5 African Americans (out of the 50 I've known or been to school with) have EVER been nice to me. And, now even as a female, I am a bit sexist against women. (I know, wtf?) Now with everything going on, I'm stuck between: Women are strong and can do certain things as good or better than men. and, Women have been laid back while they watch drunk, drugged morons earn women's reputation in the world (i.e. as bitches who just want to show off their breast and get s*x, and as crazies who divorce men for thier money.) I would never vote for these Democrats. Even McCain is a little short of what I want to see. But, when it comes to that, you may as well fix up something that's almost there, as opposed to from scratch.

I did not agree with the war when it began, honestly. But now, if we leave early, Iraqiis will wish for revenge, causing another 9/11 situation.

I come from a very political family, so I feel I have to post here, lol.
I'm for Obama, not because he is black, but because he a new face. Let's face it McCain, as nice a guy as I'm sure he is, is just not smart enough to run this country in a way that helps us. I'm not for Hilary, not because she's a woman (cause, I mean, she plays just as dirty as the boys) but because she hasn't made her own cup of coffee in 30 years. Does this not bother anyone? I want my country's leader to at least know how to make his coffee.
As for the war, it's for oil, not beating Osama. It's all just for money, not honor or freedom. Obama has a plan to take people out, not in one big move, but over a period of about 6 months. Even then, he wants to keep non-combat units in there.
There is no "too early" to leave iraq. If they attack us after we leave, then I'll fight to protect my country. But I refuse to believe that I should go to someone else's land and kill them and their family for nothing more than "because Bush told me to".

As this is intelligent discussion, we have to remember the pros and cons of each candidate. Here is my pro/con list:
OBAMA: Pros: Crud, I haven't an idea. Cons: TAKING US OUT OF IRAQ!!!
CLINTON: Pros: -She's a woman -NAFTA being taken back -She's a woman Cons: -Is taking us out of Iraq
McCAIN: Pros: -Staying in Iraq -Republican Cons: -Um, is he getting rid of NAFTA? If not, that is a con.
