Two nocturnal butterflies fluttered gently beside her. She always had a set of different butterflies around, they were her familiars most wizards didn't have familiars but she did. She rather enjoyed the company of her familiars even if they were silent. She smiled faintly and allowed one to land on her brown ear. The clear night air was peaceful and serene nothing could be better, except for charging into something without knowing what was actually in there!

Such adventures were timeless, and meeting new kitsu, unknown kitsu. It was always such fun! Regardless of her very fine and beautiful shape she was much stronger than she looked and knew a thing or two about magic. She had inherited her mother’s talent. She loved to read books about adventures in far off places. Not having any friends because of what she was a drag...

The half demon Honoka stared down from her high comfortable perch in the tree. It didn't seem anyone was out. Too bad, she wanted a friend. She’s find one eventually! She was optimistic and she believed she would get a friend.

Adjusting her black and red kimono with white butterflies she leapt to a higher tree. She enjoyed high places every now and then. Hakyoku her elder brother would always rather stay on the ground. Crimson eyes stared at the empty landscape... Everyone was asleep.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Everyone but a solitary kitsu who was very much in his element at the moment. The night was a shield. A comfortable blanket of safety and immunity. Often times these days, this particular kitsu couldn't feel any peace save for night time. Days during which the moon reigned over and no one could judge him. This was especially important for everyone seemed to have a judgment of him. In his dreams, they all expected something. In his memories, they knew what he didn't.

A long time ago he would've been considered a stalker of the night, but these days he skulked around in a very carefree way, trying to let it all go. There was a vague thought of him putting odd things with five appendages into a pocket and walking around; the epitome of freedom. But it couldn't come true because he wasn't that man. That thing. Somewhere beyond the stars, someone was teasing him and he nearly longed to take up the former job of his memories and make it all true. Still, he hesitated.

Standing out in the night like this, alone, it made him remember. A sad memory. There seemed to be so many of these. So much anguish and regret, but still... he was alive, even though he'd killed so many. A girl, in a kimono. A Sweeper, Saya. She had been kind, and carefree. Nobody had owned her and she was as free as a bird. It made his heart long to reach out and find her. But she wasn't here. She was dead.

There was a slight tug on the sleeve of his jacket and Train looked down to see a small black and brown guardian sitting beside him, trying to be helpful. The former Sweeper/Assassin put a fuzzy and gentle paw on his companion's head and looked back up to sky. There had to be more than one of these. Two memories, two skies... two lives. Which was he?

From her tree branch she continued to stare into the confines of the large circular white object. A gentle set of paws hitting the ground. Some one was awake? Honoka grinned; finally she could talk to some one about well anything. Pleased Honoka instantly leapt to her feet and down from the tree. She always landed on her feet no matter what. It was something her father had taught them to do.

Nearly landed on top of the kitsu she had sensed but failed to realize how close he was. "Ack!" she said then leapt back "sorry! Sorry! Are you ok?" she said rather embarrassed. Once again she had done something without thinking. “I didn’t see you there!” she placed her paw on the back of her head “Heh, Sorry.” she said again.

“The name’s Honoka!” she said quickly pushing aside her blunder. “What’s yours?”

He looked kinda lonely, even with the little guardian beside him, she instantly wondered why. Maybe he didn’t have any friends either. Having no friends was depressing. Maybe others thought he looked funny? Well it was a possibility. Honoka smiled “What’s your name?” she asked again. She could cheer him up, her mom had always been good at that.

“Hey who’s your friend?” she asked the larger kitsu as she stared at the little black and brown guardian, “What’s his name?”

The moonlit sky seemed to fade in comparison when he turned to see another living being stand beside him. Or rather... nearly drop right on top of his head. Of course, reflexes he didn't understand saved him and made the narrow miss a bit wider. Thank goodness for that or his tails would've been squished. Black-tipped ears flicked back in confusion... she apologized a lot. His mind was picking up facts and examining them, tossing what he needed and what he didn't, but also he was just smiling. Innocently. Himself.

Whether or not he even knew who 'himself' was anymore.

A small smile lit up his face like the moon, and he looked down to his guardian for a moment, wondering. Thoughts could be left as just that in the company of others. He didn't want to think of such things like memories of murder and death. They didn't fit. Didn't work. So instead, he smiled, grateful and laughing a little, a bit dryly however.

"I'm Train and this is my friend Black Cat..." his yellow gaze shimmered like the sun and then he noticed something about her: a kimono. Brown hair and a kimono... just like her... no. But... no. It couldn't be. For a moment he was tempted to try and relive his memories but he knew that would be stupid. She was Honoka, she'd even said so. Not Saya. But still... she looked so very much like the girl of his dreams and of his nightmares.

"It's really nice to meet you Train! And his little friend Black Cat!" She smiled. She flicked her graceful tails aside she was ecstatic! There was some one else around! She didn't have as much composure as most of her siblings, in that aspect she took after her mother, being kind and cheerful.

"What brings you out?" She tilted her head, "I was out staring at the sky and hoping to find some one to talk to." There was no point in lying anyway, were would it get her? She wanted a friend. But never meant to nearly land on him.

Raising her brown ears she looked around, it was still nighttime of course... but maybe she should be quiet! Oops!

"Sorry I was kind of loud..." she said quieter. She hoped no one had woken up. "I was just excited to see some one else around." she added.

No. This female, Honoka, was nothing at all like Saya. Saya had been sort of quiet, but playful and smart. Free as a bird. Honoka seemed to be none of these. She seemed easily excitable and loud, and desperate for some kind of company. Loneliness? He knew it well, but half of him reveled in it. The less people around, the more he could just do things his own way.

His smile to her was kind, understanding. He had a definite soft spot for people like her, and tended to get sort of carefree, even when he was rather depressed himself. Black Cat, or B.C. for short, looked genuinely pleased with the girl and whirled around, wondering if she could possibly bring him out of his rut.

Lightly shrugging, he gave her a wide and pearly white grin, "Just getting some air." Woman and children were his most valued sort of people. He hated bringing them into things and was always polite and kind. The epitome of a gentlemen... well... as much of one as a former Assassin/Sweeper as messed up as he was could be.

"The more the merrier though don’t you think?" she said. Being alone was no fun at all. She gave an understanding nod. She was too in a sense, trying to find some calm in the cool night air. Honkoka smiled "Still" she said quieter "It's nice to meet someone out at night."
