I only joined just recently and already I've met a lot of awesome and helpful people here. Why isn't there a thread to recognize the most active helpful, funny, kind etc... member of this guild?
April is coming up in what--3 days? I think that its the perfect time to talk about this and then let maybe the mods pick who they think is the member of the month.

With in the last week of the month, people could write short letters 2 sentences minimum to the mods naming their nominee and the reason(s) why they think XXX should be the MotM

I propose such an award. I think the prize could be any of the following
a> A mention in the Guild Subtitle/front page
b> a small gold prize like 300g or something like that.
c> if one person gets it the most in a year, then I think we could give them like the collectible item of that month or whatever, I'd buy the first "Member of the Year" item (its $2.00 right?)
I'd be willing to donate 300 gold a month to award the MotM--I dont have a "dream avi" or quest and all that other stuff that eats up 4,000,000 gold that I have to spend four months begging for and all that stuff

It reminds me of what they did on Club Penguin.
They called it Penguin of the month.
It was actually their April fool's joke, they used a mirror code so it looked like whomever was logged thought they were penguin of the month.

I would like to see that, but I think there should be a rule that no member can be in the spotlight twice, at least in the same year. That way more people get to have a little moment of glory. I would totally donate to a prize fund. I don't ever spend my excess gold on anything other than buying stuff for friends anyway (because my avatar is already awesome.)
I say we do it. I mean who can it hurt? We shouldn't do the PM thing though. Perhaps somebody should make a mule? I just don't think the mods would like all of those PMs clogging their inboxes.
EDIT: I think a this would be a perfect way to show appreciation for all of the people in the cult who do nice things.

I can tell what the groups would be right now...
1) The people who want it, try, and get it... (fewfew)
2) The people who want, don't try, and get it...
3) " " want, try, and don't get it... (Hello! biggrin )
4) Want, but don't really care...
5) Don't want, don't try, don't get...
6) Don't want, don't try...and...get it... neutral
Seems like a decent idea. This needs some looking into. 3nodding

Anyway, I created an extra account just for Motm. Its a female avatar and its name is Cult_Motm. Its made slightly in my personal image, sorry people if you don't like it, I dont either but like me, you'll get used to it. biggrin

I see a glaring problem. Are people going to commit to this?
Plus, given how lazy most of us are, do you really think we would write nomination letters?
Understand that I'm not being critical, merely playing Devil's advocate for the moment. In all honesty, I'm all for it, I just don't see it happening very easily. I'd also be glad to help with prizes and such. smile
