- Broken Shore - The shoreline along Shimagakure is sandy and white like a tropical island, but cluttered with garbage from the wreckage left over from the Black Spring Events, giving it a trashed look. There is only one dock, one mostly destroyed and submerged, and the third completely destroyed and nonexistent. Only two of the original five fishing boats made it through the battles, both not in the best of shape, and all housing along the beach have been destroyed. The rubble from the housing lay in heaps and piles along the shore, adding to it’s destructive look. The few fishermen that remain on the island reside in the destroyed housing district, not wanting to live on the shores for the moment, the memories of the events still fresh in their minds.

It was a cool gust of wind that awoke the Uchiha from his slumber. For a moment, he thought that he was back in the Orochi village. However, the freshness of the air was what made him realize that he most certainly wasn't in that place. He felt a bit drowsy and the second thought that entered his mind was whether or not it would affect his training in a negative fashion. It was at that time that Sukotto began to wonder what he was doing asleep in the first place. His eyes shifted left and then right, half expecting to discover an opponent casting a genjutsu on him. Finding no such enemy, Sukotto decided to keep his guard up as he continued training. After all, the hard-working shinobi felt that he had no time to waste investigating the situation and the fact that nothing had touched him in his sleep meant that a harmful technique hadn't been used on him. Doing his best to push the whole situation behind him, Sukotto continued the training that he had been participating in before his unexpected snooze.
It was apparent to the Uchiha that his strength had returned during the break that had been forced upon him, but he also found that most of the ground that had been made during this work had been lost. This thought angered him, as he hated anything to interrupt his training, and that in turn caused his focus to wander off as he attempted to concentrate his chakra; Sukotto only ended up managing to blow hot air.
Chakra Training - Fire Element Burn Just like you would push your physical limits to gain endurance, you need to use a lot of chakra to expand your chakra reserves. Form your favorite hand seal and release as much chakra as you can into the air or channel it into an object. Sukotto has modified the training a little to include some of his fire element in it. Sukotto's focus didn't stray from him for too long before it returned with near full force. His hands slammed into the intended hand seal and the chakra within his lungs formed into a perfect shape for breathing fire. A thin stream of flame extended itself from his lips, creating a satisfying warmth around his mouth. The Uchiha's plain expression formed itself into a subtle smirk that celebrated the little victory that he had experienced after only one failure; it was obvious that the chakra training was going to be easier than his previous agility training. With his focus remaining steady, Sukotto had a chance to allow his mind to wander off slightly. He again questioned the reasoning for what had caused him to fall asleep in mid-training. In his studies, he did remember taking in some information about certain kinds of passive genjutsu that merely put its victims to sleep. This forced him to ponder if the village had silently been sieged while the shinobi were put under the spell. However, Sukotto knew that Ichi wouldn't fall for such a technique so easily, especially considering his skill with the Sharingan. The younger Uchiha considered seeing if there was anything that he could do to aid the village, but then decided that someone would likely come to him if his assistance was needed.

Unfortunately, the smirk that Sukotto had formed on his lips caused him to take a break from his training, which led to the loss of the required focus that it took to continue. By the time that he realized that his celebration could be a hindrance to what he set out to do, it was far too late to pick up where he had left off and he was forced to start over.
As he prepared himself to begin training his chakra once again, Sukotto began to wonder just how long he had been sleeping. All of his strength had been returned and that normally took quite a while to achieve. He noticed that the sky had shifted into an orange hue. The last he remembered, it had been somewhere around mid day, with the sun high in the sky. It seemed as if it had at least been a couple of hours that he had been asleep. A slightly frustrated sigh escaped the Uchiha's chest as he fought to quell the negative feelings that began to swell within his being as these thoughts provoked them to do so. Since he was unaware of anyone else falling asleep, he felt as if the other genin would have used the time to get even further ahead in their ability. It was quite a ridiculous thing to worry about, but Sukotto thrived on the idea of being more powerful than the others.

Sukotto's concentration continued to have difficulty in amassing itself in the name of stepping forward in his chakra training. He thought that his chakra was a much stronger ally than the agility that he had been working on previously and hoped that it would be an easier task to complete the training. Slowly his thoughts collected and he remembered just how long it took for him to feel as if he had made any progress through dashing along the shoreline. His legs had nearly given out on him and it was an imaginary image of Seshiro that had given him the drive to finish. The Uchiha was lucky to have such an intense rivalry; it was the only way he was able to complete his training, in fact. Had the added adrenaline caused by the illusionary Orochi not been present, Sukotto likely would have passed out before being able to gain anything from his running.
After shifting the gears of his mind, Sukotto began to ponder the point of the recent mission to Haha Island. He wondered why his female squad mate had such a desire to grasp onto the scroll that she had obtained within the cave that she explored. Since he had been knocked out by a genjutsu, the shinobi was unsure if he missed any important points and even considered questioning her about the scroll.

As the fisherman's boat docked at the shoreline of Shimagakure, Yuki stepped off onto the dark wood floating above the water. The breeze from the sea towards the village was wonderful. Reaching behind her head, Yuki pulled the strings that were holding her long silvery green hair in place. They fell from their place and began to dance in the wind. The long strands preforming a ballet felt good as Yuki enjoyed the moment of returning home. The bliss was quickly disrupted as she turned back to the men on the boat. "Thank for the ride, Captain. If you could bring those items to the Arboretum and Clinic, I'd appreciate it. I've marked the crates as what goes where," Yuki told him before walking down the docks to the sandy shore. She had a few things to take care of before she returned to the clinic and prepared for the mission tonight. She had to stop by the academy to pick up Shisei, drop off a necklace to Naoki and then report that Kei would no longer be enrolled at the academy.
As her shoes stepped into the soft sand and sank in, Yuki noticed a lone soul training on the shoreline. Why the hell was he all alone!? There was a mission to be prepared for and teamwork was essential on it. Who was his intructor today? Thinking back on it... It had been Harada along with Aya, Kana and Maya. As much as she hated Shinichi, he knew just how important teamwork was! The only other explaination was that Sukotto had skipped out on his training with the others. However, Yuki didn't think that was likely either. With her hands on her hips, Yuki began her authority stride towards the genin. She was still wearing her normal brown attire with the spear strapped to her back. She had just came back from Kaigan, so she wasn't in her usual lab coat. "Sukotto!" Yuki shouted, standing a few meters from him. "Why aren't you training with your squad?" She asked with a very demanding tone. The air that Yuki brought was thick and layered with disappointment and anger.

The air whistling through his hair and a determined look in his eyes, Renji ran down the beach as fast as he could, fueled by adrenaline due to the fact that he had just woken up. Slowing down as he reached the very edge of the shoreline, the Raiken glanced around, frowning as he saw Yuki. 'Is Yuki-sensei the one that's going to lead me to my brother?'
His question was answered, however, as a boat suddenly materialized in front of him, a single person inside of the float. The person, unlike most of the ninja in the village, had a simple black cloak covering them up, including their head, which was covered by a hood. The boat floated a little bit closer until it touched the ground, at which point the person inside stuck an oar into the sand to help hold the boat in place. "Get in."
"Where's my brother at?" The trainee asked, the butterflies suddenly catching up to him as he watched the person, who's voice had revealed that it was indeed a man.
"You're worried that I'm here to kidnap you, as you suspect your brother was, correct?" The owner of the boat murmured, just loud enough to be heard over the gentle crash of the waves.
Wincing as his cowardice was revealed, Renji then simply nodded, taking a slow step backward. Glancing across the beach towards where Yuki was standing, the boy frowned slightly. 'I wonder if I can run to Yuki-sensei before this guy could catch me....'
"Very well. Allow me to prove myself." Releasing the oar from his grasp, the man drew up one of the sleeves of his cloak, pulling it up past his elbow and up to his shoulder. Seen, very distinctly against his slightly pale skin, was the Raiken family tattoo.
Gasping as he saw the mark, all pretenses of cowardice disappeared from the student's mind. "You...you're one of us?" Raising his eyes up, the dark haired boy attempted to see underneath the hood of the cloak, though the shadows of the evening were making it rather difficult.
"Yes, and I suggest you hop in if you want to help rescue Ichigo. There's not much time left." Grabbing the oar, the man pulled it back into the boat as Renji leaped in beside him. The momentum behind the younger Raiken's jump was just enough to dislodge the boat from it's spot in the sand, the current of the ocean slowly pulling it away from the shore.
"Wait, aren't we going to get Kiba, too?" Sitting against one edge of the boat, the student made sure to keep his eyes off the water, making it obvious that the boy wasn't used to traveling on water.
"There's not enough time. Plus, you're more closely related to Ichigo. It only makes sense that you should go along." Slipping the oar into the water, the elder Raiken started to paddle away from the island.
"Well...alright." Letting go of his uncertainty of the water, Renji turned his gaze back to the island, smiling gently as it started to disappear from sight due to the fog that was raising up off the water. 'Stay out of trouble, my friends. I'm going to miss you....'

As his mind began to drift away from the scroll that Aya had fought Naru so hard for in his most recent mission, Sukotto's hands interlocked with each other and the chakra within his chest warmed the air that he had inhaled. A moment later, the resultant fire spewed from the Uchiha's lips in a brilliantly lit stream. He kept his eyes squinted, so not to damage them by staring directly into the light that he was creating with the molded energy of his body. Sukotto's hands remained steady and he decided against celebration this time around, knowing that it would be more efficient to attempt and simply maintain the fire rather than break it and try to start over. Holding onto the level of chakra that was required to do this would increase his endurance, and that was what he was after anyway. It was a little tiring to proceed with such a task, so the teen figured that coming up with something to think about would help him to forget any strain that the flame would force upon him.
Sukotto figured it best to began to consider the strengths and weaknesses of his strongest asset in battle. The technique relied on the very type of chakra nature manipulation that he was training and it would lend him incentive to continue to press on.

A cough was what doused Sukotto's pride and joy that was his session of training. The flame had gained just little too much heat in a small area of his throat, irritating it enough to force too much air out of his mouth at once. In preparation to regain his composure and resume, Sukotto continued to wander down the mental path that he had decided to embark upon while the flame had still been lit.
The Phoenix Flower Jutsu was the technique that he had had in mind before his training had come to a momentary pause. It was quite a powerful move and he could attest to that, considering that he had been defeated with it inside of the illusionary genjutsu world that he was forced into on Haha Island. It had shot at him so fast that even his Sharingan couldn't track it quickly enough to dodge the three-fire burst in time. Sukotto shivered at the thought of exactly what the devastating technique would have done to him had it been real and not simply a trick of the mind. Something told him that the genjutsu had shown him exactly what it would have been like if he really were attempting to avoid it. Luckily, the large amount of running that he had done lately would surely aid in that respect.

The Uchiha had been so focused on his thoughts and his training that it took him a few moments to realize that the head medical shinobi had been standing before him. She always seemed to be so hasty about things and Sukotto felt as though it was quite unnecessary. It would have been fairly simple to have questioned him in a softer tone; it wasn't as if he was laying around like a lazy sloth, after all. In the moments leading up to his response, Sukotto decided that the elder ninja's slightly vivacious way of questioning him was just part of her personality and he would have to adapt to it accordingly. With a respectful bow of his head, the genin spoke. "I don't exactly have a squad, ma'am. I haven't since I left team Shuga to follow under Ichi-sama's guidance." After blinking once, he gracefully slipped his hands back together and began to focus the chakra within his lungs. Sukotto hoped that Yuki would see that he was training quite intensely on his own, even more so than the squads were likely to be. A nervous and excited feeling began to tug at the Uchiha's insides as he awaited Yuki's response. He wondered if she would get upset and take it out on him by way of scolding. Sukotto most certainly hadn't intended on causing such a reaction and was eager to see if it would manifest on its own. This desire to observe another's expressions and response to something was derrived from the Kage himself. Many times had the leader of Shimagakure made it obvious that he was watching his foster nephew's reaction to things. The younger Uchiha had picked up the trait in the time spent living with him.

While waiting for Yuki to speak, Sukotto figured that he could quickly train his chakra a little more before the chance that he could be taken away from it could arise. Having been too worried about speaking to a superior shinobi in a respectful fashion within the confines of his last session, he lacked the focus that would have been required to successfully concentrate his chakra in an efficient fashion. As he began to take note of the subject that was on his mind before Yuki had interrupted his training, Sukotto realized that his current exercise would increase both the number of times he could execute his technique and the strength of the entire jutsu as a whole. For the time being, his agility training would be the most vital since it would cover the greatest weakness of his offense by allowing him to research a speedy taijutsu, but the chakra training was what he really needed to focus on in the long run. Next to his studying, Sukotto felt as if working his chakra was the most beneficial form of improving his power. He dreamed of a day when he could use the Phoenix Flower without worrying about it draining all of his energy. To be able to use such a powerful technique on multiple opponents, or even the same one if he were to miss, would make the Uchiha simply unbeatable when matched up against anyone near his skill level.

With his most recent breath as heavy as it was, Sukotto could easily tell that his energy was beginning to fade. He still had quite a bit left in himself, but at his current rate of training, he was likely going to run out before he was able to reach the level of improvement that he hoped for. Recharging chakra took quite a lot of time and that thought gave him reason to thank whatever it was that had caused him to fall into such a deep sleep earlier in the day. Doing it the natural way gave him a chance to become bored with training, since it didn't actually work to improve anything. Even though it gave the Uchiha a chance to kick back and relax for a while, he only wanted to get stronger and taking a break wasn't appealing to him in the least. It was likely that the other genin weren't taking much of a breather, especially the chakra-infused entity that was Aya. Having seen her through his Sharingan, Sukotto knew that she had nearly twice as much chakra as he did before their return to Shimagakure from Haha Island. He had gained quite a bit of power since then, but it surely wasn't enough to match the monstrous amount of energy that the young girl possessed. The most prominent weakness of Sukotto remained to be his lack of chakra. If only he had had some sort of jutsu that could aid him in that respect, he could keep up and perhaps even surpass the others within his age group.

The pair of hands that formed the seals to focus the chakra within the shinobi's body tightly gripped together to no avail; it was as if the Uchiha had hit a wall in his training that he was having difficulty climbing over. His eyes slowly blinked as he felt the energy within his lungs swirl around in the wrong direction, throwing off the balance that was required to heat the air and kindle the fire that would form a successful session. Before, during, and after this process, the Uchiha 's mind briefly returned to wondering exactly what Yuki would do about his individual training. It was quite obvious that his body appeared to be worked and slightly strained from a day's worth of it, but it was likely that the woman wouldn't observe this and react only on surface emotions without taking Sukotto's interest into consideration. He knew that adults were to be respected, especially an esteemed medical shinobi such as Tenmoki Yuki, but he felt as if they got a high off of bossing the youth around. There would be no harm in allowing the Uchiha to train on his own. In fact, he could get much more done while training solo than he would having to wait for an entire squad to finish with whatever the sensei assigned them. Additionally, his experience with Shuga taught him that some of the teachers were just in it for fun, taking what should be serious learning and development time for granted and extracting useless amusement from it.

While waiting for Sukotto to give an answer, Yuki's eyes watched as a single academy student was speaking to a man on boat. Wasn't that Ichigo's little brother Renji? Yuki watched them intently, following their conversation by reading their lips. Once Renji finally got into the boat, Yuki let out a small sigh. That was two students the academy had just lost to the mainland. As that small sigh escape her soft pink lips, Sukotto finally snapped to it with his excuse. Throwing those hands of hers on the round birth giving hips, Yuki gave him such a glare. Yet, it wasn't as intense as she usually gave out.
"You really need to get into the swing of things around here! Check the Kage's office, read the newspaper, you need to do these things every day, Uchiha-suke," Tenmoki said, calling him little Uchiha since she felt like she was the one that was catering to him like a little child. "The mission to go the Rice Country and put out the Orochi's begins tonight. All the genins were assigned to squads. You need to practice with those squads and learn one another's moves before infiltrating such a dangerous place. Your strength hardly matters when you team up with others. The team's strongest effort only matches up with how well they can work with one another," Yuki lectured him with a tone that wasn't meant for insight like Ichi's usually was.
Letting her shoulders relax a bit and for her hips to even out, Yuki closed her eyes and turned her back to the boy as he continued his training. "You better find out where they are and where they're training before the sun sets. Otherwise you might just be pulled from the mission," the woman stated, waving a hand in the air as she walked towards the village. "Ja," she gave him a quick good-bye to end their conversation. She needed to get to the academy to see how Shisei was doing and then to relay Kei's messages to her friends before the day was over.
[Exit to Academy.]
