Gin was in a curious mood of sorts. For one-he was smitten with this female girl named Nanu-who couldn't speak of all things. He was sitting with his paws at his front, his tail curled around them. He was surprised they hit it off so well. Afterall-he was a jerk.

Thats what his siblings told him anyway. But... Nanu didn't say anything along those lines-that he was mean or cruel. He sighed, his golden eyes blinking up at the sun. Perhaps-she was diffrent. She didn't have that horribly annoying type of personality that drove him crazy with anger. He liked her alot though.

He sighed again, dropping his front paws so that he lay on the ground. Perhaps-he was just a unique specimen.

Nearby, Abishalom crouched under a bush, his long curled tail wagging with the slow tick-tock motions of a pup deep in thought. Here, in the shade of the bramble bush, it was cool and safe from the hot afternoon sun. Cornflower blue eyes reflected the movements of each savannah ant as they crawled about the shady grove, bright with intelligence.

A single blue ear twitched at the sound of someone approaching and Abish slowly back out from under the bush, carefully avoiding snags and thorns. His curious gaze landed on his brother and he yipped a quiet hello.

Gin shut his golden eyes and whined quietly to himself. How was he going to sneak into her pack lands-so heavily marked with scent and claw-to find her again. He had promised her-and she had been so sad on their departing. Damn that Fox-for being so stubborn. He and Nanu could have been togehter more-if it wasn't for her being a princess and he-a rouge.

His pale ears lifted upon his brothers greeting. He lifted his head, blinking his golden eyes. Ah-his brother Abishalom. He stood up, padding over to him with a bow greeting. "Brother."

Gin sat down next to his grey brother.

Abishalom leaned over and touched his nose briefly to Gin's with unspoken affection, wagging his fanned curly tail. He tilted his head to one side, cornflower blue eyes considering Gin carefully. Abish wasn't really sure what to think about Gin, or his other siblings for that matter, if he even thought of him at all. Gin was daring and outspoken, occasionally a little bit of a bully. Abish didn't really mind. He was content to watched the world go by, come what may. Today, however, Gin seemed troubled and a strong urge to protect his sibling swelled up in his little chest.

He was a pup of few words, and what words he did speak were measured and tasted before spoken aloud.

" Do you want to talk about it?", he asked softly.

Gin gazed at his brother. So different he was from himself. Course, that was to be expected with ten siblings. Gin blinked his golden eyes at his brother and shook his head slowly. He hated that his brother could sense those things-he hadn't told anyone about Nanu... but.... what could it hurt?

"I met a girl... a princess of all things... and she was pretty... pretty awesome" He said. What a way to explain it to-pretty awesome. What an idoit-he couldn't even bring himself to say how good of a time he had with her-and for gin to enjoy something-that was pretty unusual.

"Her guardian... pretty much forbade us from meeting again-because I am a rouge." He said, with a rather annoyed look on his face.

"Hmm..", was Abish's only reply at his brother's explanation. He seemed to be studying the far distant horizon, but the look in his eyes was one at an even greater distance. He turned things over in his mind.

So Gin likes a girl.... Like Dad likes Mom?

He tried to imagine what that was like. Abishalom liked his mother and his sisters ( most of the time anyway), but he had the sense that this was something different, something other. He wasn't sure he understood it, but if it upset his usually unflappable brother this much, that was all he needed to know. Abish looked back at Gin, a slow smile growing on his face, a flash of daring in his eyes.

"So?"

He winced as his brother made a simple statement. So... He shook his head with a sigh. He himself didin't know why it made him so peeved-the fact he couldn't see her without her family freaking out. "Sooooo... I feel that even though I understand her-and don't treat her like everyone else does-it doesn't even matter... her family will only see lowly upon us seeing one another again." He growled, narrowing his eyes at the ground.

He could see her sad little face as she was escorted home. Tears... she had cried. How many other friends had she been forced to forget and never see again? He felt the fur on his back rise as his anger grew. "They treat her like she is a frail little infant-but she is strong and wise... even if she can't talk... and I understand her...

And whats so wrong with us Rouges?" He demanded, stomping a paw. He stood up and went closer to his brother and sat before him. "We all look the same... whats the diffrence? Ugh."

Abishalom watched his brother outburst with his head cocked to one side, ears just slightly too big for his head jutting out at comical angles. His expression was enduringly patient and just the tiniest bit amused and behind the somber color of his cornflower eyes, there was a twinkle of determination and mischief. Soon his brother was nearly nose to nose with himself.

Abishalom leaned forward, licking down the fur that had raised itself in anger. His face hidden from his sibling, he thought and he thought had.
Two very important, and usually adult, subjects had presented themselves to the cubs. The first was love, which many find confusing even on into their old age. The second was class. So they were rogues. Did that make them any different than any other wild dogs? He didn't think it did. Decision made, he pulled back and faced his brother again.

"Go see her, anyway." he said matter of factly.

Gin gave a snort at his brother. Though he didn't show any of his siblings affection or such-he still loved them-nonetheless. He just-wasn't one for showing how he really felt. That was his way-big and bad-thats all he was about. But Nanu-she brought out the kindness in him-perhaps it was her lack of the ability to talk. Perhaps-that was why he wanted to be around her.

"I plan on it... I told her I would. I am not afraid of some big and mighty pack-afraid that I may soil their precious Princess's pelt with my unrightous blood." He said distatstefully. He sat beside his dark brother-one that lacked any spots that their mother possessed... But they shared the same silvery blue... and that made Gin closer to him.

"I feel awful silly about this though... some girl..."

Abish grinned widely, his cornflower blue tail dusting the ground with each swish. Gin's snort rustled a tiny cyclone in his fur and Abish only rolled his silver eyes . His brother played tough, but they were still brothers after all. One ear turned to capture the words of Gin's rant and Abish's tail only quickened it's pace. He sprang into the air and tapped his heels in puppy excitement, landing to spank the ground with both front paws. Sneaking in? That sounded like an adventure.

"Can I come?"

Gin looked over at his brother slowly, his golden eyes blinking rather irritatedly. His brother Abish, always seemed to be so nice and friendly, and Gin found it hard to be irritated with him long. He smiled, though it looked rather forced. "I don't know Abish... If they catch me-I may be punished badly... and I don't want you thrown into it..." He said simply.

He stood up and his tail wagged slowly, not out of happiness but rather-something else. Perhaps thought... Being secretive about Nanu and his intrest's in her-made things complicated... overly so... and it was annoying at times... but... there was something about her. "She's so interesting though."
