I looked at the place yesterday. I got the call today that my credit check was perfect, and it's ours (Caroline & I)
So now I have a 1300 sqft 3 bedroom apartment, including heat & hot water, with new kitchen cupboards installed before I move in, and they are going to re-do the bathroom in the near future too. Icing on the cake; we get a pool just in time for the summer months.
And I didn't even have to pay an extra deposit for my cat. whee
So I am very relieved.

probably not for a while crying I get the place ont he 1st, but it's crazy here, and I owe it to my family to get things done at this end. But I hope to be in there by the 15th.
It's at Lougheed mall mrgreen

Yayayay! Lougheed = close. xd First of April? Oooh so soon! biggrin
I never thought I'd become a mall critic, but Lougheed is probably my ideal mall. It's got everything in one stop, and is not too busy and crowded like Metrotown. Well, Walmart is, but uh...that place is ridiculous. @___@

That is exactly how I feel. Everything is there. Food, Walmart (Satan, but I could use the good deals) London Drugs, The Bay, and a million little useful stores.
I hope I'm in there before you leave for the north, then you can come over for messy coffee (because there is no way I'm going to get unpacked in time), give me the pins, I give you the magnets, and you get to meet my kitty. And I guess take pictures to appease Naito, or she will kill you when you get home

... well... a lot. But well within our price range. $1400. It was $200 more than we would have liked, but it isn't going to make any discernible difference in our bills or pocket money. And we are getting extras in the deal... 3rd br, pool, two major utilities and some new renos. We don't have insuit laundry, however there is a laundry room on each floor, so I don't have to go to the basement or anything. I'm sure you and a few others understand that that is half decent a deal for British Columbia, and Metro Vancouver area... as this an expensive city and has a high cost of living.
On average a bachelor pad is between $650 and $1000 a 1 bedroom is $750 to $2000 a two bedroom is $1000 to $2500 a three bedroom is $1400 to $3000
for the suburbs, I'm not talking the downtown. And adding a pet in the mix always makes things a bit more expensive.
Bacardia and my brother's old place was more decently priced, I believe was in the $700 range for a 2 bed. But the place was a hole, the manager a b*****d, the second bedroom was a glorified closet with a window, and didn't allow pets. The only utility included I think was hot water.
Taking into account that Caroline and mine combined income around $4000 a month, it's going to be just fine.

I'm still stressing, because now I actually have to move, and all. It's crunch month, plus I still have to do my taxes, and I owe a butt load of money to the gov't gonk

Congrats! Sounds like a good place, I hope it goes many years without needing repairs.
But you're set to be able to start moving in on April first? Hmm, coincidental... I know I'd be tempted to do an April Fools joke just a low-level one, though.

It will, but I just wish it was all over. By May life will resemble a form of normalcy I haven't experienced in well over a year. whee
