Appearance: Joel has bright blue hair, and slightly pointed ears, taking after his mother. He also has some highly unusual characteristics, however. On his hands are gems. On the right hand he has silvery-clear ones, in the form of a moon, and on the left are golden ones, in the shape of a sun. In addition, instead of two eyes, he has three, the "normal" two being green. The third eye sits in the middle of his forehead, and is gray.

 Name: Keeta (Emlin) Harding
Nicknames: Keets, Keet, Birdy, Munchkin
Age: 30
Race: Half-elf
Occupation: Part-time bartender at the Casbah Club, a place run and owned by her friend Tess. Secretly has a part-time job exotic dancing at a less respectable club on the other side of town. Mostly retired mercenary and thief.
Appearance: Her hair is currently dyed a light-brown and cut short, but when her hair is let to grow naturally, it is a bright blue and is somewhat wavy. Her eyes are a light grey-blue. Her ears are pointed slightly, betraying her father's race, however she keeps them covered for the most part, not wanting to answer any  hard questions. She has a tallish, slender figure, thanks to her elvin heritage, that allows her to make decent tips dancing. At one point she was extremely well toned from the kind of work she did, but since she has come to Gaia, she has let herself go some.
Abilities: While Keeta has an elf for a father, she didn't inherit much in the way of elven qualities. For the most part, all she really got from him are slightly faster than normal reflexes (useful when fighting) and a particularly green thumb.
Apart from her inherited qualities, Keeta is skilled at knife throwing and staff fighting. Recently, she has had training in exotic dance that she is becoming good at.
Personality and other randomness: Loyal. Usually honest to a fault. Hates disappointing people. Hates assuming things about people. Doesn't take compliments well. Usually more than willing to compromise in a situation, because she prefers to give up what she wants to keep the peace. Consequently is often a doormat. Enjoys reading.
Because Evin, technology-wise, is still mostly in the 16th century, much of the modern tecnology is confusing to Keeta. She'll take the time to sit down and understand it, however, and picks it up fairly quickly, although computers and cars still have her dumbfounded. She'd rather walk places anyways.
History: Keeta was born away from Gaia, in a place called Evin, to an elven father and a human mother. Her father didn't stay around very long, so she ended up being raised by her mother and the family she came to know at the place her mother worked: The Mystic Nights Bar and Fight club.
The bar was frequented by and employed all manner of races from all walks of life. Many were attracted by the fight club, where they could train and hone their skills, as well as make a bid for the in-house fighting titles. As Keeta was growing, she too trained in the arena and learned to use a staff and throwing knives to her advantage.
 When Keeta was 17, her mother disappeared after going on a job she had been hired for by one of the bar patrons, the employees banded together and became her surrogate family; One in particular being the co-owner of the establishment, Tarotess, better known as Tess. Because Keeta was growing relatively independent by this point, working behind the counter at the bar and honing her fighting skills, Tess was more of a cool aunt, than a replacement for her mother.
Keeta spent many happy years in and around the bar. Her fighting skills having improved even more over the years, she eventually started to hire herself out as a mercenary and on jobs of more questionable legality. She also kept working in the bar's fighting arena and held the championship title for a time.
 Two years ago, however, there was a falling out between Tess and the other owner of Mystic Nights. Finding that they could not reconcile, Tess picked up and moved to Gaia. Keeta and several of the other bar patrons followed her out of loyalty and a sense of curiosity of what this new place would be like. There, Tess set up her own establishment called the Casbah Club, and began to settle into life in the more modern, faster-paced world of Gaia.
The culture shock of moving to Gaia was a bit much for Keeta, however, and she started to fall apart. She was used to the forest covered, more 16th century feel of Evin, so the new world took her for a spin. Normally she would have turned to Tess for support and guidance, but she was too wound up in setting up and running her new place to take too much notice of what Keeta was going through. More than once, she thought about returning, but she wouldn't leave Tess and she wasn't sure what kind of welcome she would receive if she returned to Mystic Nights. Instead, she fell into a self-destructive depressive state, that involved wandering into the darker corners of town and seedier bars.
 Keeta dyed her hair and cut it into a bob, covering her ears to hide her heritage. She even changed her last name from Emlin to Harding (her mother's maiden name) to avoid unwanted questions about where she was from. It was easier if she didn't have to think about it. She took to drinking heavily, sleeping around and experimenting with the drugs that her new "friends" were passing around, none of which she would have done in Evin. Unfortunately for her, her father's genes weren't enough to suppress the addictive and intoxicating qualities of what she was experiencing. She eventually took a part time job as an exotic dancer, spending half her tips on booze and often doing more than just dancing for the establishment's customers. It's no wonder that this lifestyle eventually led to an unplanned pregnancy.
Keeta has no idea who the father of her child is and what kinds of features or abilities it might have. Her partners had been very diverse. While she had not planned on getting pregnant, she finds the thought of terminating the child to be beyond her. The elven part of her can not stand the thought of destroying natural life. She is going on, scared, and uncertain what the future holds for her, and the child she is bearing.

 Keeta currently has no living blood relatives (that she knows of) and the long-time patrons and employees of the Casbah Club are the closest thing she has to family.
Mirriam Harding
Status: Assumed deceased
Race: Human
Keeta's biological mother. Was a mostly pleasant woman, but was known for not being the highest in morals. It was her willingness to go with any man with a nice smile and some gold in his pocket that resulted in Keeta's birth. She was a mercenary and thief by trade, which is how Keeta got into the business. When business was slow, she served in the local bar and fight club Mystic Nights, and it was also there she left her daughter when she had business that took her out of town. Went on a particularly dangerous mission when Keeta was 17 and never returned.
Golradir Emlin-
Status: unknown
Race: Elf
Keeta's biological father. She never knew him as he had disappeared out of her mother's life before she even knew she was pregnant. Has contributed little more than genetics to Keeta's life.
 Tarotess -
Status: Alive. Living/ Working at the Casbah Club in Gaia
Race: Succubus
Usually known as "Tess," she is the owner of the Casbah Club. Although she is usually friendly to all who enter her bar, she is fiercely protective of those people she considers part of her family. She is usually very blunt and can be rather perverted in her comments. Has the ability to "poof." Loves jewelery.
Tess is the main reason Keeta came to Gaia. She's the closest thing to a mother Keeta has had in her life since she was 17, when her real mother died. Their relationship is more of a cool aunt and a niece, however, and Keeta feels that she can talk to Tess about almost anything and not be judged for it. After moving to Gaia though, Keeta started drifting away a bit and hadn't Tess half the things that were going on in her life away from the Club. She finally told her everything, however, and was very relieved to find Tess still cared even after all the trouble Keeta had gotten herself in.

Race: Half-faerie
Sometimes also known as Tawni, Annata is another long time member of the former Mystic Nights, now Casbah Club family. Very bubbly and cheerful most of the time, and can lighten the mood in any room. She is several years younger than Keeta and they have a relationship akin to that of siblings. Due to a trip abroad, Annata did not join Tess and Keeta in Gaia until recently. She was the first person in the Casbah Family that Keeta told about her pregnancy.

Status: Fliting between Gaia and Evin
Race: Kitsune
Usually known just as "Brat" she is one of the mother figures of the bar family. She spends a lot of time in the Casbah, but has recently taken charge of Mystics back in Evin. Often appears out of the shadows. Can be very mischievous. Has been known to be good with arts and crafts, as well as magic. Mother to Woodz and Rhia.
Woodz Dragon-
Status: Living in Gaia
Race: ???
Casbah musician. Has been known to do jobs of questionable legality. The kind he won't talk about afterwards. Pretty laid back. Son to Icebrat.
Kyosuke Hisaki-
Status: Living in Gaia
Race: Cat demon
Kyo has been absent from the bar until recently for unknown reasons. Very mischievous and horny. Goes for just about anyone that shows interest and even some who don't. He and Keeta used to almost had a 'thing' once upon a time, but they really don't talk about it anymore.

Keeta met him not too long ago when he came into the Casbah. At the time he had been "possed" in a way, by a horse named Gray Dream. The horse of course wasn't just a horse, but a servant of the fates. Kael eventually overcame the battle of wills though, and gained his freedom. It turns out he is literally part magic and has fairly capable magical abilities, although is affected greatly by anti-magic spells and the like. Is currently staying in Keeta's apartment and is her current romantic interest.
Ceres-
Keeta met her officially at the cafe just across the street from the clinic. They had met in passing before that, but hadn't been introduced. Since then they have developed a friendship. Ceres has visited Keeta's place and even painted a mural of Keeta's homeland on the walls of the nursery. Keeta has also visited Ceres' island.
Sky-
Ceres' very close friend, who is actually a Pegasus. Seems nice, but he's rather quiet because he doesn't yet speak human fluently. The father of Ceres' baby.
Sadoko Misaki-
Keeta met her the first time she visited the clinic. They share similar situations, seeing as both of them were there at the clinic with unplanned pregnancies, unlike most of the other mothers who walk through the doors. Keeta doesn't know much about Sadoko except that she is carrying twins and that the pregnancy had interrupted some of the plans she had made for her education.
Luna-
One of (or the?) Clinic Counciler(s). Keeta met her while waiting for her first appointment at the clinic and afterwards. Luna doesn't use normal speech, and unaccustomed to mindspeak and projections of thought and emotion, she was thrown for a loop initially. Luna was kind and gentle to Keeta though, being sympathetic to her condition.
Dr. London-
The doctor Keeta saw on her first visit to the clinic. Seemed a bit harsh initially, but softened up as the visit went on. Introduced Keeta to some of the modern medical terminology associated with her pregnancy. Jiao'lan- Amena- Imbri-
