Upon waking he remained where he was, comfortably nestled against his mate. He didn't particularly want to move until she started to wake up, even if the warmth of their bodies together would soon be a bit much as the sun climbed higher. It was nice like this... Just the two of them...
Only it wasn't really just the two of them. Not far from where they rested there was another male; a cub trapped in the body of a full grown lion. He was almost surprised that the other hadn't woken them up yet... He must have been exhausted.

She'd forgotten how tiresome it was trying to teach a cub anything. It almost made it worse since she'd have expected the 'cub' she was teaching to know more just because of the way he looked. The day had left her fare more tired than she'd thought so she had no plans to wake up any time soon.
Her mate was warm and comfortable and so far nothing else had appeared to disturb them. The sun would eventually but they'd picked a partially shaded spot to settle down in for the night.
A proper meal and lessons that he didn't quite understand had knocked the male out. He didn't usually sleep well, jumping at every sound that might be his mama, but the day before had been too much.
Shifting in his sleep he rolled onto his back and stretched out. He didn't want to wake up yet. He was still tired.

Sighing softly he settled back down, eyes closing while ears remained alert. The more they rested now the more time they could spend moving later. Depending on how far they got they would have to stop when the noon sun rose high in the sky as well unless they wanted the heat pounding down on their backs.

She shifted when she felt Tamba sigh and nuzzled against his chest. "Is it that late already?" She spoke quietly not wanting to disturb the other male if she could help it. He'd looked like he needed sleep when she'd left him to his nap.
He could hear the not-mama female talking but ignored it. She'd promised he'd be safe and that she'd be there when he actually woke up. He didn't have to worry...

He nodded slowly, nuzzling his mate gently in the process. It had been daylight for some time now and the sun was beginning to climb into the sky. It would be time to move soon... But not quite yet.
He shifted just enough that he could run his tongue along his mate's cheek up to her ear, gently cleaning where he knew she had a hard time reaching on her own. He still felt badly about having been gone for so long the day prior.

She laughed softly. "Tickles..." She butted her head lightly against his in an attempt to get him to stop. He knew she always squirmed when he did that.
"We should wake him soon ... the sun will be horrible if we haven't moved elsewhere to better shade by noon."

"Aren't you lucky it's just behind your ears I'm cleaning then and nothing else?" He smirked, nipping lightly at her ear before pushing himself up to his feet. "Go wake him then... If I did so we would have to spend most of the day trying to calm him."

"Only because you never did learn how to properly wake up scared little ones." She nuzzled him for a moment before she pulled herself to her feet. Stretching slightly she shook the dust off her and moved over to wake up their not so little cub.
Leaning down she nudged his head gently. "Chang .... it's time to wake up dear."
He grumbled softly as he was nudged. "Nnngh..." He didn't want to get up yet. Shifting he rolled over onto his side. His nose scrunched as he felt her nudge him again and he rolled enough that he could look up at the female. "Morning?"
"Yes morning. And we need to get going if we're going to get somewhere cool by mid afternoon."

"Yes, well..." He smirked, yawning loudly as he pushed himself up onto his paws, leaning forward to stretch his body out. "That's why you wake them." He nodded before shaking his mane out. He was far too likely to grumble and that wouldn't do any good... Besides, waking up to her voice was always more pleasant.

"Go?" His eyes widened. If he went somewhere mama couldn't find him! "But ... but mama..... she wont ..."
She nuzzled the other male like she had her own son often enough. "We'll help you find your mama. I can't just leave you here. I'll feel bad." She had to make sure he got fed and learned how to take care of himself.

"Kindoro..." He frowned slightly as he made his way towards the other two. "Do not make promises that we cannot keep. We may not be able to find his mother." He stood beside his mate. "... But we can teach him enough that he will be able to search for her on his own." His attention then drifted towards the male. "We can't stay here. The grass is too dry and there is no water... No food. If you stay here there won't be much of you left for your mother to return to."

"... I might not ... " His eyes widened at the thought of both not finding his mother and not having food. He hadn't really noticed the drying grass much since he'd been able to catch the same little things he always did.
She managed not to sigh. Of course Tamba would put it like that. Shaking it off she nodded at the other male. "Things are disappearing from here. There's not enough to hunt. You can always come back here once it rains again and look for your mother."

He'd only put it that way since his mate hadn't seemed to be getting anywhere with the odd little male... And because he knew better than to make promises. There was a good chance that his mother was nowhere to be found since she hadn't returned to him. "If you come with us... Kindoro will teach you all of the things that she taught our son and daughter; things that a mother teaches their little ones."

"I can't be your mother, but i can teach you everything a mother should." She smiled at the other male before she moved around behind him to nudge him up. "Now ... off we go."
"Bu ...." He scrambled to his feet as the female pushed him up and tried not to bump into the other male. He didn't think that her mate liked him all that much and didn't want to risk making him mad. "..... "

"We have to cover a bit of ground before finding a place to rest through the noon hours... And we should probably try to cover a bit more land at night while it's cooler. If we're lucky we'll find water along the way." He nodded slowly as he began walking, moving on through the tall grass ahead of them, expecting both his mate and the odd lion to follow.
