Nivriti huffed a little, her neck was starting to complain as she'd had it arched over for so long, using her teeth to tidy her wing feathers. Much as she loved the freedom her wings afforded her, they did need to be kept in good condition or she would lose the use of them. She stretched, letting her wing fold back against her side and felt her neck muscles ping back into place.
She cast a look around herself, ears flicking. She had an unsettled feeling, almost as those she was being watching. The clearing she was in seemed quiet though, well quiet despite the usual bird song sounds, and the distant rustle of newly grown leaves on the trees at the edge of the grass. For a moment she hoped it would be Althalus, it had been a few days since she'd seen the fiery coloured stallion, and he had said he would be in the area for a while.
Nivriti scented the air, nostrils flaring as she did so. Maybe she was being silly, she couldn't smell anyone. She shook her head, and started to graze, meandering along, standing occasionally to look over at the tops of the Village dwellings that she could just see in the distance.

Wandering through the forest, Keiran wasn't sure what he wanted to do today. All he knew was that he was bored and needed someone to entertain him. He had already killed a rabbit this morning and he still had a little blood stain on his mouth. The smell of blood was so good; he loved it. The stallion continued to walk in a straight line towards the clearing ahead of him. As he passed by a small puddle of water, Keiran couldn't help but stop and gaze at his reflection. He was so beautiful.
Being the son of Heartless and Ariston, he had definitely inherited his personality traits from Ariston. Prideful, boastful, and arrogance were all on that list and he was damned proud of it. Pulling himself to walk away from the puddle, Keiran continued to walk towards the clearing.
When he reached the edge of the clearing, the kalona stopped and looked around. All he saw was a lone wind mare. Hm. He was hoping for a kalona or something because he found other soquili to be rather boring. Keiran just stood there, his golden eyes standing out against the darkness behind him wondering if she would approach him or not.

There it was again! She couldn't just be paranoid, the hairs along her neck raised as the prickly, watched upon feeling persisted. She swallowed the mouthful of grass, scanning the treeline, her eyes stopping as they alighted on a shape that definately was not arboreal in nature!
She stepped forwards, drawn by the glow of the golden eyes. She too had golden eyes but hers didn't have a fire behind them as this other seemed to have. 'Hello?' Nivriti said, stopping a distance from the shadowed figure, her wings slightly unfurled in case she had need to take flight.

Observing her with almost curious eyes, Keiran had never been good at interpreting body language. His mother was the queen of that but he still tried anyway. It seemed like she was surprised? Or was that confusion also? Bah, he was too lazy to care. He was surprised that she approached him. A small mischievous grin appeared on his expression. "Hello there." His voice was smooth and elegant and almost alluring. All of this was a facade though. His true personality was yet to be seen.
"Who might you be?" In his thoughts, Keiran was already scrutinizing every aspect of Nivriti. Down to the tiny details. He had already judged her appearances and came to the conclusion that she was not nearly as pretty as he was. She was sort of pretty when one looked at her a certain way. Besides that, she was nothing compared to him. It was only a matter of time until he voiced these opinions about her looks.

His voice might have held the allusion of being alluring but Nivriti found it odd that he was still concealing himself. Wasn't it polite to show oneself? She bit back the words which would come out as impertinent; scolding his lack of what she'd been taught as being basic manners when meeting another Soquili.
'I could ask the same thing, if I could see you clearly..' her eyes narrowed as she tried to make out the rest of him from the gloom, her voice as pleasant as possible in the circumstances. She still felt a tingle, as though her instincts were warning her of some danger, but for now she chose to be polite. She dipped her head a little, making a bow, wings opening as she did so. 'I am Nivriti.'

Chuckling silently, Keiran was slightly amused by this mare. He liked lurking in the shadows, it made the other soquili wonder. Stepping out into the light, the light chains wrapped about Keiran's body shimmered as the sun hit him. The stallion shook his mane lazily and looked at Nivriti. He watched her bow and he couldn't help but smirk. He would never bow to another. Nobody was good enough. "Keiran."
He looked over her once more and again deduced that she was hardly as beautiful as he was. There was something about Keiran's body language that showed his arrogance. It was quite apparent. "So what are you doing out here?" Eying her carefully, Keiran knew that she didn't pose a threat to him. He was a decent fighter; his mother had taught him well. But she... she had much to worry about being so close to the woods.

'Strange..' Nivriti whispered under her breath. For indeed he was, she stepped back a few paces as the stallion left the shadows, trying to keep her wings still as her pulse quickened. She knew those wings, though the tail wasn't as her mother had described to her, the wings were exactly as told. This was a Kalona.
There was something striking about him, and a small noise caught her ears, her eyes going to the source, the slightly moving chains that were wrapped around him and glinted as the sun struck the metal. 'Grazing..' she answered, her eyes pinned to him, not through any admiration of his looks, but watching in case he made any sudden movements. They might both have wings, but she was confident in her flight abilities; if she got to the air quick enough. She swallowed a little at that thought but outwardly tried to project an air of calm. 'Yourself?'

Keiran could sense some tension in the atmosphere around the two and he was pretty sure he wasn't nervous. Smiling slightly, Keiran liked the idea that only his outward appearance was already causing tension. Where was the confidence in her voice only minutes ago? The stallion chuckled out loud. "Really now? I'm just lurking about. Looking for a rabbit or something." One thing Keiran loved besides himself was the smell of blood. Nobody had ever spilled his blood and nobody ever would. But the smell of the blood of other animals or soquili was amazing. It almost put him in a blood lust.
He noticed a small puddle of water to the right of him. Turning his head slightly so that he could see himself in the puddle of water, Keiran couldn't help but admire his appearance. But that lasted only a few seconds and he immediately returned his gaze to Nivriti. His vanity would someday be his downfall.

'Rabbit?' Part of Nivriti had always thought that maybe her mother had been exaggerating about Kalona behaviour, especially the one where they ate other creatures. Sort of a way of making her cautious. She silently apologised for ever doubting Aishwarya, her ears flattening and her nose wrinkling as the very thought of killing and eating something living turned her stomach.
'I'm no rabbit.' she said, trying to seem casual as she spoke, as though talking to a bloodthirsty Soquili was something she did every day. She blinked at his next action, was he admiring his reflection? So not only was he a killer, he was a vain one on top of it. With his attention distracted for a short while she took another step or two away, giving her mane a little flick as though she were just wandering for no reason.

"Yes rabbit. But the smell of another soquili's blood is so much sweeter." Keiran watched her once more wondering if he was freaking her out or not. That's why he preferred to talk to other kalona... They understood what it was like. He was obviously at ease when speaking to her and looking at his reflection was something that he always did. He didn't even notice it anymore.
He noticed her step away and Keiran took a few steps towards her. She was rather amusing him and wanted to see how far their conversation would go. "Aw, trying to leave me so soon? I haven't gotten to hear anything about you." He wondered if she would actually tell him anything. He doubted it.

'Really? Is it?' Nivriti was afraid of the stallion, she would have had to be stupid not to be. It would take another of his kind not to get troubled by his talk of blood, especially of Soquili blood. But she was also slightly curious. 'You could live without it, without taking the life of another living creature I am sure.'
She flicked a look at him as he stepped closer. 'You're talking of blood. Of killing things. If I stood my ground would you not take it as a challenge? I'm not weak. But I'm not a fool either.' Would she tell him anything? Maybe. Or maybe she would just lie. She had a feeling that being truthful with Keiran would lead to someone getting hurt.

"You don't necessarily have to... kill another soquili to taste their blood. Rabbits, it's a little more difficult not to kill them. A soquili has to eat anyway." Keiran shrugged nonchalantly still feeling rather calm and at ease. He liked the fact that he was scaring her. That just made him feel even better about himself. But this encounter also showed him how different Kalona and other soquili were.
As she spoke, Keiran's good humor disappeared in a flash. His eyes hardened as his eyes narrowed while looking at her. His voice was sharp and seemed to have a dangerous edge to it. "It wasn't like I was threatening you so there would be no reason for you to stand your ground. And right now, you sure seem like a fool now." Keiran stepped closer to her, his presence seemed menacing and intimidating. He disliked soquili that got sharp with him...

'I'm not a fool, you asked why I moved away and I told you.' Nivriti replied, trying to keep her voice level. His mood seemed to be mercurial, what might pass for a 'pleasant' conversation for him had taken a dangerous turn, and she felt an overwhelming urge to get away from him as swiftly as she could.
'Would you rather I lied? Say that I stepped back for any other reason other than the one you want to hear? I am sure you like being intimidating to others.' That's it, taunt the killer! Nivriti wouldn't have talked back in such a manner, except for he and the sense of her own fear was nettling her more than she would like to admit.

Staring at her, Keiran thought about the last time he argued with another soquili. That time... He had kept his temper more in check. Now, it was just urging to come out. Seems like Fury was rubbing off on him... He took a deep breath and he relaxed his stance a bit. "Either way, you still haven't told me about yourself and that's rude, leaving in such a hurry." He paused and contemplated her last comment, "Yes, yes I do like intimidating others." Keiran smiled wickedly showing her his pointed teeth.
Other soquili were so intriguing.. with all of their actions. He could never quite understand them but he loved making others feel uncomfortable. Usually, he liked to flaunt his physical appearance but this called for different tactics.

Nivriti tried not to stare back, still not wanting him to think she was challenging him into a fight. Her eyes flicked to his teeth when he bared them, and she tried not to think of the last poor creature they had tore into.
'What did you want to know?' she asked, her tone flat.
She would answer in as evasive a manner as possible, giving only what would get her away from him with her hide in one piece. She knew she had been right about him, he must be loving how he felt over her right now, knowing that she had fear for him.
