I noticed the roleplaying subforum seems to be a little bare when it comes to games, and so I grew curious as to how many of you enjoy a little rp now and again.
Do you like tabletop/pen and paper where you have the rules and dice-rolling to see if your actions succeed, or would you rather play a more freeform game? Do you like original games, or do you prefer playing with the characters in a fandom? Do you like low-powered characters, or higher-powered ones akin to gods? Or somewhere in between? What is your favorite thing to rp? Romance? Suspense? Gritty and depressing?
I am considering attempting to start up a game of my own, and I'd like to get a general idea of what you all would be interested in, if any of you would be.
Please discuss.

I used to love rp'ing in my first year on Gaia, but after my major rp died I quit. And along with my love for rp'ing my love for writing also died. Thankfully I got over it.

I love roleplaying.
I wanted to start something in the Guild, but I wasn't sure..
I have a thing for humans with animal features. >.>
Like ears and tails etc.

I love to roleplay! Free form preferably. I haven't really roleplayed in a while. I stored a lot of the roleplays I've done on my forums. I have a pirate one that was really successful until someone hacked onto where I started it and deleted the forums! =O
We tried to start it up again, and it never worked...
I also made an islandish one (mutantish...even though I prefer elemental above anything else so they aren't appearing different from others xD), a vampire one kinda sorta, a 'songfic' to try, but it never worked out. On my forums I am currently reviving the Harry Potter one I had, because it was actually really fun (its just we all got really busy and neglected it since November...funny how everyone doing it was from my school xD I don't think they all know that =O).

I believe this is where most of my stored roleplays are (I don't have enough active people yet to start any of them, even though people beg for the pirate one...and point out my character shouldn't use a scabbard as a weapon because that's where the sword goes into... xD I was thinking scimitar...same thing right?).

What I was thinking of was something similar to the inn/bar/pub/whatever you want to call it rp in the subforum, except instead just a realm where people get dropped in from various planes of existence to interact and learn from each other. Supernatural creatures and ordinary mortals alike.

smile It's sort of a common theme for games - especially multi fandom ones and all that, but I thought I might give it a small twist and have it be less fandom and more original characters (provided they're of a decent power level).
