Porsche playfully bobbed her head in a rhythmic fashion as she walked, and her eyes gleamed as she looked at all of the plants and trees that were rising up from the once frozen ground. So spring was finally coming, then? She was born in the wintertime, so she had only heard stories of what spring would bring. If anything, she was completely excited! It sounded like a great time of the year! Her father had already told her that summer carried terrible heat, so Porsche would have to roam around at nightime like he did, since their coats were so dark and black. But she preferred the night anyways, so that would work out just fine.

But for now spring was a different story- the heat wouldn't creep up on the land for awhile, so she would enjoy the bright sun mixed with the cool breeze. As she continued to walk across the field she was in, she flapped her wings playfully while watching some other Soqs fly above her in the sky. Today was obviously a busy day for everyone, and Porsche was taking in the energy as she peered around the landscape. Now, if only she could have someone to talk to on the groundscape, then she would be both lucky and entertained! She was looking to make some friends anyhow, since her mother was going to be busy for the time to come.

Mel, for some reason or another, was having a replay of his childhood when he used to chase every little thing that moved, like bugs or even birds. Right now he was zipping after a bumblebee, while earlier he was hopping after a grasshopper. So far he'd tripped himself a couple times as he tried to keep his attention on the flying bug and a few times he had to duck and sidestep to avoid it trying to sting him. He was gaining on it now and all of a sudden it took a sharp turn and..THUD.

The blue stallion stepped back and shook his head, trying to figure out what happened when he saw what, or who rather, he ran into. "I'm so sorry, I should have looked where I was...going." He blinked as he looked at her wings and...a horn?? He'd never seen anything like her wings before. "...You look like a butterfly," he said, matter-of-factly.

Porsche was just as surprised at the impact of the stallion, but luckily he had stopped himself before doing any major damage to her side! It didn't help that she was focused on the opposite direction of where he was coming from, but either way since the pain was light, the mare could only giggle in response. "You seem to be having a nice time, don't worry about me!" She turned herself so that she could face the stallion, and she only blinked playfully at his response to her.

"A butterfly? Well I've been told that before, my mom carries the butterfly gene, or at least that's what my brothers and I laugh about." The stallion was bright and colorful in the opposite way of she, and she let her eyes stare at all of the colors on him. "And you yourself are full of color! I'm sure your personality matches them very well." Forming a usual smile on her face, she then lowered her head just as her mother had taught her. "But anyhow, my name is Porsche! What is your name? And what game were you playing?" She was curious, of course.

"There's more of you?? Wooow! I've never met a kind like you before. My brother and sister are winds and I've only met other winds too," he said with a shrug and was still momentarily stunned as he looked at her wings. "Game? ...Oh!" He looked around both of them but the bumblebee had outsmarted him and flown away. "I was chasing a bee but I don't know where it went now. Smart little thing. It probably formed that plan in its tiny little brain so it could escape," he said as he wrinkled his nose at being fooled by a bug. But now he actually had someone to talk to! "I get most of my color from my mother, she's much brighter than me though. My father dulled me down a bit," he laughed. "Sorry again, my name's Melanthios but I go by Mel for short. It's easier to remember.

"Ah I know what you mean though, my brothers have wings too!" She grinned at their connection, knowing very well that while they flew around in the sky, she was most likely watching on the ground. This stallion probably had to experience the same thing. "Well, it is nice to meet you Mel." she then said, with a light curtsy. "And I am sorry if I helped chase the bee away, shall we go walk around and see if any more bugs are around?" she hoped her idea could at least help his game, since she might have interrupted it for him.

As he spoke about his coloring, she gleamed with interest, knowing very well that she had a similar experience. "I don't think your father dulled you down! If it makes you feel better, I got my father's dark complexion, so I am quite dull I think." She giggled to herself while walking next to the kind stallion. She kept her eyes forward so that she could look for any bugs.

Mel walked beside her and nodded. "It's nice to meet you too, Porsche. And we don't have to find a bee, it was more something to do because there wasn't anyone to talk to but I ran into you, literally, so now there's really no need to chase bugs." He smiled and kept his eyes peeled for anything small that hopped or flew, just in case.

"You think you're dull?? Oh I think you're the opposite! You have a tad bit of brightness on your wings but because of your dark complexion it stands out like a bright neon sign! Honestly, when you go out and see others, are they usually bright or dark like you? All of the ones I've met are very bright and I think it's a nice change to see someone dark. Think of it as it makes you more unique, more special. Or you can be thankful you're not covered in flower petals like me," he laughed.

My goodness, both she and Mel were odd, weren't they? They were making fun of each other for compliment sake? Porsche could only laugh at this realization, and she shook her head at the stallion before speaking once again. "I think we should both agree that we are fantastic and unique." she raised her head triumphantly while putting her hoof down. "Flower petals are awesome! Its nice that you have them on you, since now I don't have to sneeze from real ones."

Although Porsche's words sounded silly, they were completely truthful. Flowers made her sneeze all the time, and Mel was blessed with the ability to not make others allergic! "I think its nice to have unique traits, if everyone looked the same it would be horribly boring, don't you think? Like me and my brothers are dead opposites. What about for you and your siblings?"

Mel laughed and raised his head with hers. "I agree! And I don't mind my flower petals, though one mare that I met did try to rub them off..." He blinked as he remembered the winged golden mare who was slightly disturbed by his permenant flowers. "I'm sorry flowers make you sneeze. They're pretty tasty," he grinned a little, snatching up a nearby daisy and munching on it.

"I agree, again, with you. If everyone looked the same, how would we find anyone we're looking for?? It'd take hours! ..Actually though, my brother and I are almost twins. The only differences are that he has wings, green hair and no flower petals. We even have the same hairstyles," he laughed. "Personality wise we're total opposites though. My personality matches my sister's more...I kinda miss her."

"Ah, I know how it feels though. I haven't seen my brothers in a long time too, and I miss them as well. But that's why we venture out and meet other people, to make friends right?" She grinned at Mel before looking for a flower to snack on as well. Mel could most certainly be considered a friend at this point, and she was excited to get to know him better. She didn't have many friends! "And I still love flowers. Its not their fault they make me sneeze, I can't hate them for that!" Flowers were just doing their jobs, and Porsche was always careful to remember facts of life like that.

"So why is your brother so different from you both?" she then asked, feeling somewhat interested in the subject. "One of my brothers is like that too, well I mean he is a lot more distant then the rest of the family is. He was always like that, ever since we were younger.. but we still love him of course! Is your brother kinda like that?" Hopefully he wasn't mean or anything.. Porsche was sort of worrying for Mel!

Mel was temporarily saddened as he though of his sister. They were always so close when they were younger but Porsche was right and he smiled at her. "Yeah. We all go our seperate ways sooner or later. I have met some good friends too and I'm thankful for that." He saw a lone daffodil, knowing those were rare this early in spring but also very tasty, he snatched it up and offered it to her. "Just don't smell it," he warned. "It's good you don't hold a grudge against them though, especially if they can't help what they do!"

Mel listened to her description of her own brother and nodded. "Yes he's just like that! Distant is a good word. Doesn't get excited about anything really," he shrugged a bit. "But everyone is different."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 25, 2008 8:04 pm

"Why thank you!" she then exclaimed to the male, while taking the daffodil for herself. She listened as Mel continued to speak on about his family, and she nodded while chewing as quickly as she could. "My goodness, he sounds JUST like Everhart does. He never got excited about anything, and he never wanted anything from us or anybody. Hey, its good knowing that Everhart may have a friend out there!" A light giggle escaped her mouth, but she was just as worried about the situation as Mel was.

"So you say you have other friends.. what are they like?" Porsche tended to stay around her parents, so she didn't know really anything about others in the land. "I heard there are different breeds around, well, me being a strange one. But I've always wondered what else is out here you know? Maybe I should explore more.." Bleh, was she weird? The mare hoped not!

He chuckled lightly. "You're welcome. I haven't really seen him since we've grown and moved on but as foals he was like that. My sister and I always went with our mother on nature walks because we were so excited and curious about everything out there. Karma just stayed behind with dad, talking about flying and stuff. Of course me being wingless, that wasn't always the most exciting conversation for myself." He shrugged a bit and continued on walking, enjoying having someone to talk to and who actually seemed interested in him and his life.

"My friends. Well I met one as a foal and we sure hit it off, us two wanderers not wanting to get caught and go back home. But I haven't seen her since then either. Another one, I guess you can call her a friend, she was an interesting character. The one who tried to rub off my flower petals," he laughed. "Another one had actually met my brother, shockingly enough, and they were really good friends. She said he actually talked too! I was a tad bit surprised about that. She was the only normal one I've met. Oh and there was this other girl who had the coolest wings I've ever seen, and a horn too. She was pretty talkative too, just like me so we hit it off and became really good friends quickly....Oh wait that's you," he laughed and snatched another flower as they went by, chewing on it. "Sorry. I tend to talk a lot when you get me going."

She once again was enthralled by the stallion's words, and she only watched him as he spoke about his family and his past. Porsche was someone who loved listening, and to her everyone carried stories and memories of their own, and she just loved hearing them when possible! Plus, everyone carried different experiences, and she liked relating them back to her own. "Wow, you are very social, aren't you?" she giggled, before grinning at his other words. "I am so thankful for your friendship, Mel! You really are too sweet also." He was much different then her pesky brothers, and it was nice that he was chatty too! His compliments made her a bit embarrassed, but it was in a good way. They felt like complements, and Porsche had never had those before.

"So one of your friends wanted to rub your flower petals off? That would be kinda scary if it were true, wouldn't it?" Then he wouldn't look like his parents anymore, and that'd be sad! "And your other friend.. they must have been sweet if they got along with your brother, and they were most likely talkative as well. See, then things can't be too bad with your brother if he is at least socializing." She then nodded to herself, as if getting completely absorbed into the stallion's affairs. "Jeez, you are a hungry stallion, aren't you!" she then said, with a playful laugh.

Mel blinked at her, his mouth still full of the flower. "Would you like me not to be a hungry stallion?" he asked as he swallowed and laughed. "I'm always thankful for more friendship, especially yours, you're chatty and exciting like me! As for social..Sort of I guess. I've only met a few when you think about it. Others have met a lot more, I'm sure. But having too many friends might be a bit overcrowded, you'd never have time to yourself." he nodded. Although he enjoyed talking with others he also enjoyed his time alone when he could just lay around and soak up the sunshine.

"Scary? I don't know if it'd be scary. Definitely interesting but not scary. Now if my entire coat could rub off THAT would be scary," he laughed. "I was actually really glad to hear he'd made a good friend. She said he was quiet at first but she loosened him up a bit, which is a very good talent she should hold onto. Maybe she can loosen him up all the way and he'll be more social by himself. Probably just wishful thinking though," he shrugged. "Okay, okay, enough about me. What about your friends and family? What're they like?"
