The night was heavy with rain, but despite the circumstances, Raguel knew it was time to do what needed to be done. Angel, although upset at the weather, knew Raguel needed to go. The both of them had scented Reaper earlier, and they knew he was in the area. Raguel would find him now, and he would finally discuss with him everything that needed to be said. Raguel would bring all of the realities together so that Reaper would not have to question anything else in life at this point. The past could finally be patched up and put away.

His hooves felt heavy as he walked, but Raguel was still careful to keep his guard up, and his eyes keen for his son. The image of Gabriel was in Raguel's mind, but this 'Reaper' was not. Angel had described him to the best of her memory, but Raguel just couldn't believe it. He wouldn't believe it until he saw his son, and his heart was beating as his mind flustered him with worries. He felt like he could choke at any moment, but he knew that was impossible. He was the father, so that meant having complete control of the situation. He would show Reaper that he had not changed since their last meeting, and that he was most certainly there for him.

As his son's scent became stronger, Raguel slowed his step while glancing at the wet atmosphere around him. His hair was drooping over his eyes and neck, and the rain was proving to be an utter annoyance. But for now, it wasn't about the rain or the trees, or the creeping wind. It was about saving his son, and bringing a light back into his heart. Even if it was impossible, Raguel would most certainly try. That was his pride as a true Angeni father, and he could never give that up. This was for both him and Angel, and also especially for Gabriel.

Something familiar teased his nostrils though he could not place the scent. He wasn't sure what was so familiar about it or where he remembered it from. Perhaps it similar reminded him of another, similar scent. It had been several days since he had left the darkest corners of these woods. He was still teaching Gabriel how to hunt and fend for himself while the girls were off with their mother.

"Something's coming," Gabriel muttered, echoing his father's thought. The colt was young but he was a quick learner and he had picked up the scent as well. When his father started walking in the direction that the scent was coming from, the little foal turned and followed. His father didn't seem scared but then again, his father never seemed scared. It was one of the many things he admired.

Reaper walked until the woods were just a blur behind him. When he spotted the stallion coming, he stopped to study him. The rain made it difficult to see well at such a distance but as the creature walked closer, Reaper took a step back. His eyes went wide and he was at a complete lose for words. Had his father's spirit come back to haunt him? Was he about to face his own sin? He wasn't afraid but he was.. confused and completely taken off guard. "Gabriel, distance yourself," he stated sternly so that the colt knew not to question it. If there was to be a fight, the last thing he wanted was his son to get hurt.

"Back from the dead are we," Reaper called out angrily. Perhaps he was seeing things but it certainly looked real. He couldn't help but wonder if this was another cruel plot brought to him by the angeni.

Or perhaps.. it was just a coincidence? It very well could be a stallion that simply looked similar?

Raguel had also stopped his movements at this point at time, but he felt alerted at the sound of the name 'Gabriel'. Why were there two figures amongst him? And why was one of them named Gabriel?! The stallion tried to collect himself through small breathes of air, and he tried to shuffle his feet forward so that his view could get better. Within seconds, he finally saw some of what was in front of him.

It was, most definitely, Reaper. Rageul's mouth dropped naturally as he stared at his son, and he could see the endless wounds on the creature's body. He still had some of his angeni wings though, and Raguel was able to instantly recognize those. "Gabriel.." he then said, without even realizing it. It was as awful as he expected, and the usual feeling of guilt returned to the stallion's heart.

But the other figure was much smaller, and he carried some of the same wounds as his own son. He looked almost identical to Gabriel.. could it be that this was one of the children that Angel was talking about?! "I am not here to harm," Raguel then said, with a soft but comforting tone. "Nor am I back from the dead, Reaper."

Saying Reaper felt so unnatural, and it also felt painful for the stallion. He didn't want to accept what he had left behind, but now was the time to finally confront what had plagued his thoughts to most. Despite some of the monstrous traits Reaper had obtained, he still looked strong and healthy, and that made Raguel proud. His son had grown even after such a tragedy, and Raguel was truly beaming at that thought.

"I have been waiting awhile to see you, son." Raguel then said, while walking just a few steps closer. He didn't even know where to begin, did Reaper even trust him or believe him? "Please.. I want to talk quite a lot out.." Raguel was frustrated that he felt so unnatural in front of his son. He felt as though a gap was raging between them, but that was natural, wasn't it? Raguel's existence was hidden for so long, that the desperate father understood if his son felt too conflicted to even speak to him.

Cautiously, Reaper took a few steps until he was in fighting distance with the other stallion. He began to circle the angeni but was also taking the time to look him over. The dark eyes, the coloring, the wings he remembered so well and had admired as a foal. It certainly looked like his father. If the scars placed upon his body weren't there, he would have felt he that he had somehow stepped back in time.

There were a lot of scars and some didn't look old enough to have come from his hooves. If his father was alive, why didn't his mother tell him? Did she not know? How did his father live? He had saw him with his own eyes. Bloody and motionless. It wasn't impossible though, right? He had thought Korrine was dead when he had left her.

"Talk."

He barely heard himself speak. He was at a loss for words and ever nerve in his body screamed at him to attack. Told him that this was some kind of test. Some kind of punishment. That this could not be real but a part of him kept his body at bay. A part of him wanted to believe that this really was his father. That he had lived. A part of him wanted to believe that he had not killed his father many years ago.

Gabriel was entranced by the two stallions. He didn't overly care for one over the other but they were both big and menacing. He hoped that there would be a fight. If his father won, perhaps he would stick around for a little longer and suffer his parental teachings. All he really wanted to do was go out and kill things but common sense told him that he did need to learn how to survive. He'd stick around just long enough to learn the basics. Then he would leave.

Raguel could only smile as he watched his son's impatient response. Gabriel was always impatient, and his anger was only helping Raguel's memory of their past. This 'Reaper' that stood in front of him.. Raguel at first thought it was a shell of a body, something that could never hold his own son's soul or life. But he was wrong, he could admit that. Gabriel or Reaper, it was no matter. The stallion in front of him was most definitely his son, and Raguel could only smile before finally talking. It was a relief to finally realize that.

"I was never dead.. only banished, tortured... scraped of my pride." Raguel flinched suddenly, realizing how hard it was to admit such to his own son. "On that day.. they took me away and banished me for allowing you to live. I could never kill you, so instead, they made you believe you killed me. They also tortured your mother, making her believe I was deceased at that point, and you as well." Raguel's eyes were off of his son's now, and off into the distance. He was broken at the thought of this past, and his heart was melting at each new word. "Thankfully, she was the first thing I found in this land, and she and I have reunited finally. But." he paused, before staring into Reaper's eyes. "I knew it was time to come see you as well."

Did he owe his son an apology? Raguel didn't know at this point, what had happened was out of their control as a family. But still.. he was the father, and he was the one who was supposed to prevent any harm or terror from happening to his son. Just standing there now, he could see that Reaper had his own child next to him. If Raguel was to apologize, Reaper would would hopefully understand why, since it was the father's duty to respect the rights he carried in the family.

"I'm sorry, son." he then said, with a lowered expression. "Everything that has happened to our family is just... I can't believe I let it become so out of control. Seeing you here now, I had no doubt that you would survive through all of your pain. I'm so proud of you." Just then, a small tear left Raguel's eyelid, and he realized he was truly thankful to know that his son was strong as he had always known. Reaper was truly Gabriel, and he was truly his father. "I am also sorry that you have to see me this way, these scars will never leave my body, but at least I am alive." Reaper carried his own scars now, and Raguel would accept their fates as one.

Reaper tore at the ground as he weighed carefully his father's words. Just when he thought his loathing for the angeni could not grow stronger, he felt a new surge of rage. It was this anger and extreme hatred that made it easy for him to believe his father's words. It seemed like something he could see them doing and he had never known his mother to lie. She had mourned, he had saw it in her eyes when she had visited him. It seemed like so many years had been stolen from her soul.

His father was tortured and banished because of him but he had not died. He had not been killed because of him. It was still a big burden to carry but far less than the weight it had been. Why did he bring so much pain to those he loves? It seemed like nothing good ever came from loving him. Then again, he never considered himself worth loving in the first place.

The rest of his fathers words echoed in his head for several moments before he acknowledged them, "Our bodies tell a story." It was true enough to him. One could look at them and see that things have happened in their life and their bodies merely carried reminders of them. He had come to peace with his punishment on a physical level long ago. He had never forgiven them on a personal level though. "I owe an apology more than you ever will," he pointed out, "but I won't give one. I am," he paused briefly, as if it was difficult for the words to come, "pleased to know you are alive, but I do not regret, what had to be done. If any should apologize, it should be the bastards up there." He nodded his head towards the sky. "I did what I did to live as I should be able to live.. and they have done nothing but try to prevent that from happening, and in that, they have prevented you and mother from being able to live as you should. To apologize for the course of events that were weaved by them is to take responsibility away from them."

The large stallion was perhaps filled with a little too much pride. He knew where his father was coming from though. He could imagine that his father was just happy and relieved to be back with his mother. He had remembered them so happy together. He used to be happy with them. It almost felt like it had been another lifetime. "Gabriel, come meet your grandfather," Reaper summoned.

He was still so full of anger but he needed to stay in control. It was a shock to find that his father was really alive and here before him. It was something that he would need to think about and now was not the time for such heavy and lengthy thoughts.

-----

Gabriel nearly ignored the command of his father. He was busy looking up at the sky and wondering what was up there. By what his father said, they were some really mean creatures! They sounded like something he'd like!

Sighing, he turned and walked forth. He hoped he wouldn't be required to show affection. He really hated pretending to care about things. What did he get out of it? A whole lotta nothing, except maybe getting in trouble by his father.. which he had to admit, was a benefit. "Hello Grandfather," he said as he looked up at the large stallion.

Lack of emotion aside, he had to admit that he came from a very impressive family. He felt a small pressure in his chest as he thought about it. He couldn't wait until he grew up and was just as big and impressive.

Both he and Reaper's bodies, although different in pain, both represented a certain survival that they could each commend each other on. They were warriors in their own ways, and it was a trait that only their family carried. "I am just glad the stories that were forced on us are over." Raguel then said, while glancing at his hooves. "Those bastards up there.. they probably think our family has lost everything, our hopes and our prides and dreams. But they have no idea, do they?" Reaper had created a new life for himself, and now Raguel wanted to do the same with Angel once again.

The stallion was shocked at his son's introduction, but he was relieved that Reaper had also believed his words at this point! The introduction as grandfather also meant that Raguel must have mattered for his grandson, and that left the stallion with an even warmer emotion in his heart. When he heard Reaper suddenly call his grandson 'Gabriel', he could only smile in delight at the much smaller figure in front of him. Gabriel looked just like Reaper, but he carried other traits that were unknown to the stallion. "It is a pleasure to meet you Gabriel, my, you will be impressive in your growth." His eyes the turned to his son's, and he chuckled a bit before speaking out again. "He must be something to carry on your name. Do you have any other children?" He wondered if Reaper would speak about the 'others' Angel spoke about, and it was amazing to realize how big the family had grown in his absence.

A smaller silence returned between the two stallions, and Raguel looked at Reaper casually while pondering the future. It was aching at his heart, and he needed to know what would happen for the both of them. "Your mother and I plan on staying here, in this land, since we will never trust the other angeni from above ever again." he paused slightly, wondering how his son would react to their stay in the land. "I know what happened so many years ago may have severed our father to son bond, but. I assure you, I never once lost any faith in you. You have always been my pride and joy." And thus was the reason he could never kill his son to 'orders'.

"I would be grateful if we could live on this land in comfortable terms, maybe even patch up our relationship sometime. But, I do understand that my dreams are quite out there for even a father to ever accomplish." he sighed quietly, wondering if Reaper could ever accept him fully again. "I am so glad I have been given this chance to come back." he then added, knowing all to well he had been waiting for this moment forever. "I look forward to the future, even more now."

Reaper wondered if his story would ever really end. It was a nice thought, wasn't it? Raguel did not know the cruel things he had done to that innocent mare, Korrine, or the attacks he had forced on one of his sons and his daughter. If he had known, would you look at him with that same understanding? He wondered if he should confess it all before his father found out through the rumors that still circulated about him.

His father was right, though many may think their family have lost everything, in the end all that was lost so far was time. He lost time with both of his parents and his parents lost time with one another. A part of him wanted to believe things could go back to what they had been years before. That though he was different, he was still accepted and loved as a son. The thought made him feel guilty for his treatment of his first group of children, especially Dante. Hadn't he given Dante a hard time for being different? Perhaps he was a bigger hypocrite than he had ever realized.

--

Gabriel perked up at the compliment. Perhaps his Grandfather wouldn't be half bad after all. He obviously saw potential where it was deserved. He would be impressive. He would be better than impressive. He would be right down TERRIFYING. All the ideas started churning in his head and he was growing excited to grow up and be free to do as he pleased. Oh, how many possibilities!

--

"I have three daughters and three sons," Reaper started on. He wasn't sure how to explain it without coming off as a monster. "I've done terrible things." The stallion then went into detail about the attack on the mare, Korrine, and how she had lived through it and ended up having two sons and a daughter. He then proceeded to talk about how he had attacked his daughter and insulted his sons and how later, he attacked one of those sons for the right to Gabriel's mother. He told of how he had found friendship in Nimue and about the daughters and son he had with her.

"In the beginning, I did not handle my 'punishment' well," he explained. At least he wanted to believe that the creature he used to be, though evil, would not have committed such awful crimes. He wanted to believe that the punishment, the pain and everything that had happened had pushed him over that edge into total darkness. Surely the fact he can realize it had been too far counted for something? And the treatment of his first children.. was that not in response to them carrying his curse? He hadn't prepared for it or expected it. It just happened. They hated him and he had ruined any chance he could have possibly had at being a father. Hell, he wouldn't be surprised if they hated him just for what he had done to their mother.

The fact that his father was before him now offering him a place into the family once more.. Reaper was at a loss for words. For selfish reasons, he liked the idea of his parents being here in this land, even if he chose not to see them. It brought a comfort to him. "I think it is good that you and Mother stay here," he finally stated after a lengthy silence. "It would be nice for the little ones." He had wanted to say that he wanted it but those words just wouldn't come. He knew that he would get no sleep tonight for he had a lot to think about.

----

Just when things were starting to get good, it got mushy again. Gabriel was about to turn and leave but then his father went into a story about what he had done in the past. It certainly earned a new respect from the young colt. He didn't particularly care that he had siblings. He had no love for his current sisters, he wasn't going to care about any others. What interested him was that his father had done horrible things! What happened to him? Why did his father change? Maybe it was his mother's fault. He certainly never understood her. She was crazy or something.

Raguel didn't find it necessary to comment until Reaper had told his first tale about his first batch of children. As a father and a lover to Angel, he couldn't find it possible to commit such sins to another. His body tensed as his son reiterated what he did, but it was all in the past now. It had happened, and there was always time to overcome. "If you find your actions as wrong, why not make them better while you can?" Raguel was looking at his son with complete hope in his eyes, and he was calmly nodding as he spoke. "Its not like you are the type to give up on anything, and its not like there are ways to fix what has been done already in the past. But there are most certainly new ways to begin the future, a new future for yourself. And its not entirely about changing you. Hell, I can be as angry as I want on certain days. But there is an attitude change that is possible, one I found through the many years of torture..." And, Raguel was on a current and positive road towards the future, and the question lied in whether Reaper would follow or not, or if he would even try.

"We weren't going to leave this place even if you objected." he then admitted, with a slight cackle. "We have no where else to go anyways.. but, that's not even the point. We want to be here, for you, and for your children. We are here to aid you, son. There is so much potential for growth, and it is time for our family to patch up again and rebond. Being up in the sky was great while it lasted, but I think down here will prove to be much better." Angel was happier on the ground as well.. and that was all Raguel needed to make himself happy.

Was it that Reaper would begin a road to recovery? It wasn't that he was wrong as an entity, but it was that he had done wrong. Raguel just couldn't see the complete evil he saw in some of the other angeni from so long ago. Raguel had learned from their entire past that punishment was useless as a verdict, and that recovery was the only way towards true self satisfaction. "I hope you realize that you remember all of these things you have done with complete memory and pain, and it isn't as if you are sitting here boasting your memories with pride or anything. On the contrary, you are recognizing your sins." He didn't want to sound like a preacher, but it was true. Reaper was confessing to his own father, even after everything that had happened. That was the first step towards a brighter future, and it made him as a father proud.

"What do you want to do now, my son?" he then asked, while now standing besides his broken child. Gabriel seemed somewhat bored with their discussion on becoming better, and that worried Raguel as a grandfather. Was he an evil child? There was no stopping him if such was true... "And you, Gabriel? What do you want to do?" There, that was a good enough test to see what the colt's mind was up to.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 22, 2008 8:15 am

His father's words were haunting. He was sure that some things in this world could not be fixed. That some crimes could not be forgiven, but should he let that stop him from at least trying? Did he really want to be forgiven for his past actions or was this somehow tied to his father being back and his mother being around? Did he feel that he had to try to be a better creature or did he want to? He wasn't quite sure, to be honest. It seemed like his father had faith in him to make the right decision. What would happen if he did not? Hell, what would happen if he did?

This world was so different than the angeni land in the sky. He wasn't sure how well his parents would adapt to it but it would be interesting to see. There were a lot of threats and dangers in this land but he knew that his father could handle them all well and protect his mother. It might do them good to at least live a life of true freedom.

His fathers next words hit him harder than he wanted to admit. His father always had a certain air of wisdom about him and it truly showed with those words. He had spoke of his past actions with shame and regret. Though having his father around always made him feel like he was put on the spot and he wanted to please his father, he had so much pride for being himself. He had fought so hard in this life for the right to be himself. Surely if he didn't regret his past actions, he would have stood proud of his actions, even before his father.

"I have a lot to think about," he stated. "I have some heavy decisions to make." He wasn't sure what he wanted to do just yet. He kept going back and forth in his mind. A part of him really wanted to get to know Ezriel, Dante and Meera. He would like them to know their grandparents and their heritage. They were.. more like his parents. He was sure that they would love Sabriel, Airlia and Gabriel all the same but he knew... he knew they were all different. They would be a challenge to love as he was. Ezriel perhaps too... but Dante and Meera.. he could see them really happy with his parents and vice versa. He found himself liking the idea of that.

-----

"I want to kill," Gabriel replied. He didn't care what anyone thought of him. No one cared to ask him such an honest question before and he certainly didn't see a reason to lie. During the course of the conversation, he was losing all hope in his father coming around. Pity he wasn't born a year or two ago. "I really just want to kill something. I want to know what it's like, and I don't mean just bugs or something stupid." He got no enjoyment out of killing insects. He had already tried that.

"Don't rush yourself." Raguel then said, while smiling affectionately at his son. "There is plenty of time to think, and the decision will surely come to you with time." But for now, Raguel's focus was on Reaper's son, since his words were frightening to the older stallion. He wanted to kill things and creatures? He was so very young.. so fragile and new to the world. But apparently Raguel was losing his senses of the kind. Gabriel would grow up to be frightening if he kept on this track and lifestyle, and as a grandfather, Raguel was nervous as hell for the future of this child.

"You speak of killing as if it is a game, Gabriel." Raguel then stated, with stern eyes. "It is not something that should become your life and goal.. there is more to life then killing, and I assure you that." Raguel then looked at his son, and he wondered what had gone on in this family before he had come in and seen this somewhat changed spirit in his son. Was Reaper teaching his son these things? Was Gabriel predetermined to act this way at birth? "Is this what you want your child to become?" he then said, while looking back and forth between the two. Reaper's conscious would continue to get worse if his own son continued on this path of violence, and Raguel suddenly realized how complicated this family was!

"Well, your mother and I are here to support you and our family." he then said, while feeling achy at his grandson's words. "We hope to travel as much as we can, and search for the many family members we have in this area." And hopefully, they would be carefree and not violent, since Raguel wasn't sure if he had the willpower to help any other creatures in an evil distress. He most definitely had hope for his son, but Gabriel? To be so young and so evil already.. Raguel wasn't sure what to think, and he felt a darkness in the young colt's voice when he spoke. Raguel tried to envision what his mother was most likely like, and he felt a chill run down his spine at the image of their family.

What distressed him the most was that there was a chance that Gabriel didn't want to change, and that his efforts would be useless. He would still love the boy as a grandson, but it would be hard to respect him as an individual in the future. Was Raguel losing his touch in knowledge and helpfulness? Or, maybe he was just getting older.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 24, 2008 8:13 am

The little colt didn't pay his grandfather much mind. Killing certainly sounded fun to him and games were meant to be fun and challenging, right? How could killing not be a game then? He didn't care what they thought of him anyway. It was a matter of time before he'd probably never see his father or grandfather again. Or his mom and sisters. He wanted nothing to do with any of them. They didn't understand him and probably couldn't if they tried. Stupid fools, the lot of them. He just wanted to have fun and nothing seemed fun to him except the idea of killing something. Why was that so wrong? Animals killed every day. Sure, they ate them and all, but did that really make it any different?

----

Reaper was just as surprised as his father was. "This is news to me as well and is not what I have been teaching him." To be honest, Reaper wasn't sure what he thought of his son's words. There was a time that he would have embraced such ideals but the situation had changed. "If he's anything like me though, it won't be beaten out of him. If we try, we will only make it worse." He knew that one from personal experience. Gabriel had to learn things his own way and in his own time.

Perhaps he could at least try to talk to Gabriel later, see how deep his 'want' reached. He had a feeling though that his son was dead inside. He had tried to pretend otherwise but every action Gabriel seemed to participate in, especially where his family was concerned.. seemed empty. Like it was for show. Even when it came to learning, he seemed more interested in surviving and self defense skills than he did anything else. Perhaps it was his fault for ignoring the signs weeks ago and hoping it would have just been a phase. Perhaps it still could be a phase?

"You two are welcome to visit any time," he offered, "though I don't know how long Nimue will be around. Hell, to be honest, I don't know if she will be around when I get back from this trip with Gabriel. She and I aren't a couple." He would be disappointed if Nimue had left by the time he got back, but he had resigned himself to the fact that she'd never think of him as more than a friend. While he had began to fall for her, it didn't get to the point that he would be lost without her. If he were honest, he'd rather have a mate in his life that wouldn't forget who he was every time he turned around.

What did sadden him though was the fact that she may take the girls with her. He was rather fond of Airlia and Sabriel.

Raguel could sense the discomfort in his son's voice, and he patted him gently with his wing while bringing his eyes back on Gabriel. Maybe it was good of him to address his grandson so openly, but a part of him felt bad, since he had revealed a secret that even his son was not aware of. Had he overstepped his boundaries? As a father himself, he really couldn't tell. But what was done was done, and Gabriel's little mind had been discovered for the both of them. But, Raguel did find some humor in his son's other words. "I don't think beating anything out of him would be an approach, but I completely understand what you mean." He grinned, since that was so something Reaper would say.

It was probably chilling for his son to realize that Gabriel was not just an entity of himself, and that he carried a different mind and traits that were random to almost all. "I think the best thing is to just watch him, and see what happens. As family, he will need support, even if he doesn't care on the outside." Their family was strong.. and Raguel was determined to keep it that way. "Teach him as much as you know, and when he grows, we will all see what will happen."

When Raguel listened about Nimue, he realized that Reaper had some other complications in his personal life. It wasn't Raguel's place to damper, but he was happy to listen nonetheless. "You don't have to worry, your mother and I are happy to meet whomever you like." with a pause, he then pondered another question for his son. "Is this Nimue someone you'd like to have a relationship with?" His question was personal, but Raguel WAS his father. He knew it had been a long time since they had spoke, but he sensed some complication on his son's voice. He tried imagining the mare as best as he could, since Gabriel was strikingly different on some parts of his body. "Just from looking at Gabriel, I can tell that Nimue must be something. You always had an eye for impressive females."

His son had always liked power, and the children he made were most definitely powerful. But.. it was interesting when he thought about the other batch of children with Korrine, and what their use was in Reaper's overall life. Maybe their understanding would come with time as well, and it was something that Reaper would have to find out for himself. He had just admitted to his past sins, so now it was up to him to determine what those children meant in his life.

Reaper could do nothing but nod. He continued to stare at his son, as if trying to see the inner workings of his mind. This day was proving to put a strain on the stallion as he preferred his life to be simple and already he had a half dozen different things to analyze and think about. Everything was changing for him lately and he had to face reality. He could not stop these course of events. He could fight them at the expense of those he did care about or he could try to adhere to them, to the best of his ability. In no way would he let it make him weak. He could easily balance his personal desires and a family life. He had done so as a foal so he didn't see why he wouldn't be able to do so now.

The question his father directed at him about Nimue was enough to snap him back to the conversation. "It's really complicated," he stated, grinning sheepishly at his father. It was a little strange how naturally he seemed to be falling back into things and how comfortable be was already beginning to feel around his father. "You see, I beat the s**t out of my eldest son for the right to be with her, because he had wanted her as well." A part of him wanted to laugh at how comical and complicating his life was. "Nimue isn't quite there if you know what I mean. When she is, she's intriguing. Hell, when she's lucid, I could drown myself in her company and never want out but it seems like a rarity nowadays and I am sure she wishes nothing more than friendship with me. I don't mind though. It's not like I'm going to be hurt if she decides to move on, so I don't think what I feel for her is love. I won't say that the potential for love isn't there though but it's kind of hard to form a real connection with someone that tends to forget you every so often." He paused briefly before adding, "She's beautiful. I've never seen a more beautiful mare, but that's not what appealed to me at first. She seems to understand me. We have similarities that are hard to explain." He had a feeling though that his father and mother would understand them, but he really didn't want to go into the details.

If she could only fight the madness that kept her captive, he was sure she would be someone he could grow to love and perhaps even die for. Sometimes though, he found himself wondering if she even wanted out of that dark insanity. She had been there for so long. He decided to leave out the fact that she was still in love with an old flame that had died. Hell, he found himself wondering how he got in the middle of all this s**t himself. He attracted trouble and Nimue was definitely trouble, but the better kind.

Boooooooooring. Gabriel decided to walk off away from his father and grandfather. If he had to listen to any more of that talk, he'd go crazy like his mom. It's no wonder she wanted to hide from the world.

"It was nice meeting you, Gabriel." Raguel then said, as he watched the foal stomp away from their presence. He was already getting worried about that child, but he knew all he could do was support his own son, and give him any advice that was needed. Reaper was capable of taking care of his own children, so Raguel would only be there to support everyone as much as he could. "Heh, I must admit, things will definitely get interesting." he then said, while turning back to focus on his son. He was silent as Reaper spoke, and his mind was as focused as it could be.

Everything his son spoke of was complicated, but Raguel was able to understand it completely. This Nimue character.. she really must have been something! He was intrigued, and yet worried in a sense. If Nimue was as unstable as his son said, that explained a bit about Gabriel. He must have inherited and watched the way she acted.. and maybe he preferred Nimue's ways over his father's. That was definitely a surprise for Raguel.

"I have to be honest, but, its a bit surprising to hear that this mare has put you through so much trouble and drama." Raguel smiled a bit, before continuing on with his words. "Maybe these experiences have been good for you, and they are showing you things you didn't even know about yourself. I know your mother does that for me, and I wouldn't be surprised if Nimue does that as well." Raguel felt bad, for even if his son didn't think of Nimue as a 'loved' one, Reaper was still attached, and it was hard to ignore feelings when they were around. "Even if things do not work out for you two in the sense of relationship, I don't see why you can't have a deep friendship or bond. But, that could be too hard on you in the end.. since it appears that you have a deep fondness for her." And, it was practically impossible for anyone to ignore feelings or attraction, so Raguel knew that his son was in a tough position. "Even so, I can only say that I wish you both the best. Maybe there was conflict in the past with your other son, but I can only hope that there will be little conflict in the future for you both. I think its something you both deserve, and maybe it will make your relationship better." Since.. his son didn't need anymore conflict in his life. He just needed some sort of stability. Raguel was hoping he could be a part of that stability in his future.

"Your mother would be crying if she heard all of this." he then said, with a light chuckle. "But in a good way of course. You really have grown and matured, my son." It really was a wonderful thing to witness as a father, and Raguel was truly thankful for his return.
