A fighting game that ranges up to 4 players. Theres a variety of characters to choose from, survival mode, story mode, tag player mode (my fav), ect..
DOA takes real martial arts and allow you to use various moves. Theres a little fantasy in it of course such as the ninja dissappearing act or the super strenght and lost of graveity to allow players to through combos while the player in in midair. It's a series game and the story line isn't bad although not really all that amazing. The graphics however are amazing and quite nice. Theres also an even amount of female and male characters.
Characters aren't amazing in the storyline plot. Leifang is out to defeat Jahn lee who she loves...he wants to be the strongest fighter joining this tournament...hayabusa is your superninja who is out to save the world....Hayate is the lead of a ninja clan...kasumi is a runaway ninja...ayane..is there sibbling who is out to kill kasumi...genfu wants money to help his daughter in the hospital...ect...nothing too amazing. But the battlesytem makes up for the story.
My nitpiks: As a fighting game they're in competition wth Tekken which I love and I have to admit the programer is chocky and annoying although his game is fun. They try to attract male players with they're female characters so they all look like they had breast implants. o_O'

What can I say? I love this game. Its fun and I can play survival mode for hours without getting bored until a little while after. Its fun to take out when theres company since so many people can play together. the tag system is sooo fun! Characters are fine still a tekken fan when it comes to characters to be honest but its a great game.
