What's funny about at least half of the artists on this list is that they're so good/well-known that they're basically mainstream. Which doesn't really leave them labeled "indie" really.
But I love most of the artists featured from 2008 to 1994, including the White Stripes, the Shins, Bright Eyes, Radiohead, Rilo Kiley and Spoon. Those are a least the few I can remember off the top of my head.

I know what you mean. So many of them are on the rock station here that they're pretty much considered mainstream.

After seeing Twilight and downloading the soundtrack, I'm excited to listen to Mutemath and Muse! 4laugh

The shins are pretty awesome happy, mellow music.

I've been a Muse convert for a while. Plus, Keane and the Fray are new faves.

*looks around*
Lately, I've been listening to The XX, The Antlers, YACHT, Grizzly Bear (and their predecessor Department of Eagles), the Karen O and the Kids CD for Where the Wild Things Are (<3), and Fever Ray(which is flippin' AWESOME).
There's loads more...I just can't think of it right now because I've been downloading way too much good music.
