Instead, if you listen closely to what they say, you can hear them dropping hints. + The orders are chosen at random during the competition. + During many of the songs, a lot of the students held hands with the people next to them. + During the Sophmore Men's video, not only does the announcer at the beginning accidentally say "daughter" instead of "son", but at 3:55 the song director nearly fell of the platform. XD + The Senior Co-ed song was composed by the Principal of Kamehameha Highschool Kapālama Campus. + Whoever was screaming and whistling during Hoike is going to be given detention from the school. In Hawaiian Culture, this is disrespectful. The proper way to show respect is to be quiet and not make any noises.

Random fact: +Usually balloons, streammers, balls, and other assorted items are thrown when classes win awards. This year however, there were none of these being thrown because The song contest was being filmed for PBS. +A girl actually collapsed during the Hoike. Fortunately she was a senior in the stands. They said she collapsed due to the dry ice fog. I actually saw it happen she was right across from me. eek + If you listen really carefully during the awards a Junior used a blowhorn. Of course he got detention for it.

I watch song contest every year and this years was particularly wonderful. Great job everyone! I put the ho'ike and a few of the combined numbers on my Zune. So much better than what we do. Each class only sings one co-ed song, it's not a competition, and there's no ho'ike. Just waltzing, our amazing select choir, and the band.

Well I hope one day all three of the Kamehameha campuses can come together for song contest. Then again, Where would all the students go sweatdrop heh, the Blaisdell is way to small for 1500 students.

It's because we need to learn all the other songs. sweatdrop Freshmen need to learn Ho'onani I ka Makua Mau, all three verses of Hawaii Pono'i, Imua Kamehameha, AND either the Kamehameha March or the Kamehameha Waltz @-@ oh, and Sons of Hawaii for those weird people who don't know it yet o-O Plus all of the classes get the same amount of days to practice, so we wouldn't have time. 3nodding

To answer that question. We only sing co-ed because as a freshman we have to learn like five songs gonk (I mua Kamehameha, Kamehameha waltz/march, Doxology, Sons of Hawaii, and Hawaii Ponoi [all 3 verses]) So they wait until we are sophmores to learn Boys and Girl songs.

She was breathing and wheezing pretty heavy. Even I had trouble breathing since I got a full blast of that stuff (I have asthma as well). but she was worse and, well, she collapsed. right above and across from me. +The balloon thrown by the sophomore was pretty blatant. I saw it of course he got detention as well. I know him, he is a boarder.
