Deidra had no idea why they were here - or why Iamel would want them out there. The orange haired boy was usually chipper, making today no exception, but he didn't often try to drag his daughter (criminal?) with him. Black leather, mesh, a rude t-shirt under the mesh ( 'Who needs big tits with an a** like this'? REALLY, Iamel?), heavy combat boots did not only clash with the overall ambiance of the park but it was n the other spectrum to DDRs lengthy, soft cotton, blue skirt and neon green markings.

But it was outside. The weather had been letting up and Dee was finally allowed out without being bundled up to the dang ears. Spring! Spring had been sprung and so had she! Sort of. Walking was hard, even if you had always been bipedal. These new legs were weaker, still accepting and absorbing the new body, the lack of anything resembling exercise out of little baby movements.

"Alrighty, kiddlet." Iamel said cheerfully, swinging her around in a circle. Despite herself, DDR squealed, her hands waving out at him with that noise. The redhead laughed, depositing her on the ground. Toes flexed inside of her little sneakers, skinny fingers plucking at the skirt before she began to toddle about.

The day was clear and crisp, letting the sun shine down and the birds... well, one of the birds was flopped on a bench lazily, legs sprawled out. "Don't go too far, DDR. I don't feel like chasing you."

The response was a garbled bit of language as she headed out on the green expanse, humming idly. Humming: the outdoors called for it.

He was content. The horrible spout of cold known as 'winter' on this horrible planet had come and gone. Now things were warm again, and he was warm and safe. All around him were patchy colors of all a different spectrum, soft, cushioned. The gentle rise and fall was a silent lullaby, and he had drifted off several times on his way to the park. Of course, Dyre didn't really know the technical name of the place. He knew that it was green, and brown, and usually calm because his black-shelled guardian made it so with his soft tones and gentle touches of reassurance. These things, these 'plants'... they were so strange to him. Where he came from, there was nothing like a tree, or a flower. His home was a barren wasteland and cold core, and his haven was fully mechanized.

Dyre was finally roused when he felt his back gently come into contact with a flat surface. The colorful walls of his blanket and he was suddenly exposed to all the rest of the world. Rolling onto his belly, the boy gripped the blanket beneath him like it was his last hold on the world before he took in his surroundings.

"You are to be staying close to Canti, Dyre," Announced the ant boy, his antennae lowering to touch at the boy to check his condition after being carried around in the makeshift backpack. Satisfied, and after straightening out Dyre's little striped shirt, he turned his attentions to their nearby tree and began lightly flaking off a piece of bark there.

And for a moment, Dyre was ok. He sat up slowly, looking up into the warmth of the sun that was shining just behind the shade of the tree. Yes, he was definitely more at home with some heat in him, though he no longer bore the scales of his past. Flexing his tiny talons after a moment, he dared pull himself to the edge of his blanket to yank up a clump of grass with one of them. He couldn't walk totally well, but he knew how to grab things well with these odd feet of his. The grass was dropped onto his blanket and the boy promptly began to shift through it, pulling it apart with stubby blue fingers. He wrinkled his nose while doing so- it was moist and gritty, at least parts of it, but he continued to pick it apart. They were nice colors, at least, especially the green of the things sprouting up from the ground. He seemed pretty absorbed, not really paying attention to what was going around him aside from Canti's immediate location.
