It was a rare sight to see the little gray and pink permakit out alone, especially since after Terra was her charge. However, the kitsusagi was visiting her parents, after she heard they were having more eggs; and not slipping away from Lace like she would halfway through the kit's ramblings. Lace however, had decided not to follow Terra, lest Sir Friday suddenly announced that he had chosen her to take care of yet another egg. Oh no. She had enough of egg-sitting.

The first and last time she did that, she fell sick in that horrid winter the evil king whipped up to kill the flowers! Seething at the thought, she pranced on, tails held upright in the air stiffly.

"There are no monsters, Viree." Axis called, padding forward her brother than swiveling her head to stare at him. "It's broad daylight, see?" Shaking her black coat out to chase a little insect that had settled there away, she smiled at him. They had both grown bigger already! And Xanny had said they could grow to be as big as him!

However, she couldn't really envision that happening anytime soon.

Xerviree frowned as his sister assured him that there was no monsters. Oh well it was bright, but it was still outside. There were so many places that people and things could just pop up and attack or steal them. it was just so terrifying!

How could his sister be so calm about it?

"But Axis!" he whined, pulling his flashlight along side of him. "It is very bright and glowby out though. But I still need my flashlight. We might need protection!" Oh he couldn't let anything happen to his sister. Even if she was older just by a bit. His light chocolate ears perked up, as he looked about. It was very very bright out. But still so very open.

"Are you sure there's no monysters? I mean it's so big out here, and they could be waiting to pop up at any time! We can't go in the shade, ok? It's bright out, so we might be ok since the light burns them, but that doesn't mean that they might not attack anyways." his ears drooped, a rather sad look on his face. "I hear they can be very crazy and brave when it comes to attacking people."

Where exactly he had heard such things was yet to be said. Perhaps in a book, or maybe just something his imagination had created.

Axis had always tried to convince her brother that contrary to his belief, there were no monster lurking. For starters, she hadn't seen any, and momma had said there weren't. And Ayako wouldn't lie to them!

"It's not like there's going to be a solar eclipse." The red haired teen raised an eyebrow and trotted over to nuzzle him softly and reassuringly.

"Alright, alright, no shade." She nodded, pouting. "Don't be sad, kay? Mommy said there aren't any monsters?"

The little permakit nearby overhead their conversation and stepped out of the bushes the look at the two with a skeptical look on her face. "Maybe there aren't any monsters, but there's the evil king!" It was a while before she noticed one of them wearing a black coat and narrowed her eyes. "You're not in cahoots with HIM, are you?!"

Axis was fighting a loosing battle. Dispite however many time she told her brother the monsters weren't there, the more and more his mind would come up with later that night. Xerviree's mind may have simply been trying to rationalize his fear of the dark, give him a reason to actually be able to say 'this is the reason I'm scared'. Even if his mother and his older siblings told him there were none, he simply couldn't bring himself to believe them, no matter how much he wanted to.

The blonde male smiled sheepishly as his nuzzled him, trying to reassure him that there was nothing to fear. "Yeah. A good thing too." he nodded slowly, his hair tumbling down into his face. "Then we'd need more then just one flashlight." A solar eclipse would have been terrible. Oh the many things that could get them during that time. He had taken to strapping his wand to the handle of his flashlight, but there was only so much light that a flashlight and a lumos spell could create. For a solar eclipse they'd need a WHOLE (and big enough for both of them to stand under) lamp!

"I know." His voice was quiet as he spoke, he was doing his very best to act brave. A gloved paw lifted, pushing his wavy blonde hair from his face. But trying to be brave and actualy being brave were two different things, and it was quiet clear that the male wasn't that.

Xerviree let out a yelp as the little perma-kit steped out from the bushes, dropping his flashlight on the ground with a THUMP and dashing behind his sister. Peeking out from behind Axis, his chocolate eyes blinked. The creature before them was no monster, but she had startled him which had been quite ovious. "An e-evil king?" he questioned, his ears droping down by the side of his face. First monsters and now an evil king too! Oh this would not be helping his fears at all.

"No. Of course we aren't in cabboots with him. We aren't evil." he whimpered. How could she accuse them of being evil? They didn't look evil, or even mean.

His older sister had discovered that after a while, and was content with not going too far as to argue with him and somehow punch the fact into him. Besides, she would never do that. She just repeated it, hoping that he would get what she meant. Perhaps one day he would. But for now, she loved Xerviree as he was.

"Well, if all of you do a lumos spell, it would produce a lot of light." The teen nodded, showing no sign of being upset at her not being able to do the spell, being a Squib.

She gave him a gentle, beautiful smile, reminding him that she would always be here for him. Always. It wasn't a coincidence that they had gravitated towards one another and were close siblings. It was something they both couldn't explain, but that Axis didn't mind anyway.

"What evil king?" Axis echoed, looking confused as well.

"The evil king! The blue-haired Nobody and the evil prince, his son, Xanul!" They didn't know who the evil king was? Oh dear. She shook her head. The permakit fixed them with a suspicious gaze. "You two look familiar somehow. Especially her." She pointed a paw at Axis.

Xerviree gave a nod. Yes the lumos spell would make a lot of light, he still wasn't sure that it would be enough however, and would of course rather a whole lamp to go along with helping the spell's light. One could never be too safe.

The young male smiled back as his sister smiled at him. He was glad that she was here with him and she probably happened to be even more of a 'security blanket' then his flashlight. He loved all his siblings, but there was something about Axis that he had immediately clung to. They were indeed very close siblings and just as she would always be there for him, he'd always be there for her.

It was just what you were supposed to do.

The half-nobody blinked at the mention of a Nobody with blue hair, and one of their older brothers. A Nobody with blue hair, who's son was Xanul? Oh my. "Da-daddy?" he squeaked, pale chocolate ears pining back against his skull. "Daddy's not an evil kingb! And Xanul isn't evil either." How could someone even mistake them for evil?

Ok well Daddy was grumpy all the time, and did have that look on his face that could be pretty scarry. But that was just to scare away the monsters! And maybe because someone forced him to eat all his vegetables. But whatever way, he wasn't evil. He hadn't been aware that his father was a king however. That was interesting news.

Axis squeaked, leaning against her brother slightly, also making the connection. As if the first hint about blue hair wasn't enough, the name confirmed it. Evil? Royalty? No one ever said anything about that! "Daddy and Xanny aren't evil!" She echoed Xerviree, brows furrowing in confusion. If they were royalty, mommy would have told them right?

Besides, they couldn't be.

Now that she thought about it, Ayako had a tiara of sorts. Did it mean she really was a queen? Daddy never smiled; specifically, she had never seen him smile, but she was sure he might with mother. Privately, of course.

"Dad?" The kit yelped. Oh dear, oh dear. They must mean the evil king had more heirs! More to carry out disastrous deeds! "Well, if they weren't evil, why did they whip up that deadly winter to kill all the flowers?" She demanded. That was what the Princess had said! And no one questioned Princess Tuuli!
PostPosted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 9:25 am

When he got home he'd have to ask his parents if they really happened to be roalty. The kit may have been wrong about his father and brother being evil, but that didn't mean that she was wrong about them being roalty. Such a thing could very well be true, it was a possibility.

Oh dear. But if it was true that would make him a prince, and his sisters princesses. Now while his sisters he thought would make wonderful princesses, he didn't find that he'd be a very good prince. Princes were brave, handsome, and fought monsters. He had messy hair, and was afraid of so many things, all stemming from his fear of the dark. He could never fight the monsters. So he couldn't be a prince.

"Yes." he uttered as Lace yelped. The look on his face droping. Daddy and brother had made the winter? They didn't have those kinds of powers. At least as far as he knew they didn't. That would have been mentioned, he knew that for sure. Controling the weather was something you didn't or couldn't hide.

Xerviree shook his head. No, they couldn't have. "They can't make winter." he said quietly. Winter just came naturally, and then when it was over the flowers just grew back as pretty as they had been before. That was what the books had said, but maybe this kit didn't know how to read.

Well, Axis thought Xerviree would make a good prince. Princes didn't all have to be brave, right? Besides, her brother had a good and kind heart, and that was all that mattered to the redhead. Chivalrous princes were quite cliche anyway.

An eyebrow raised at Lace's shock. It wasn't exactly surprising, that someone else was surprised that her father would have more kids. "It's the weather. They can't control it. Cept maybe the gods."

The kit stamped her foot angrily. "The princess said SO! Don't you dare defy Princess Tuuli!" There was a pause as she contemplated what they said about the weather. "Maybe they didn't conjure that, but they're plotting to kill the flowers all the same."
PostPosted: Sat Mar 29, 2008 11:52 pm

A thought that the male would have certainly felt proud about. To think that his sister thought such a thing about him would have caused the male to blush.

Xerviree nodded as Axis spoke. Yeah, maybe those big and powerful people would have been able to control the weather, but their father would never have been capable of such a thing. Normal people, even those with powers didn't have THAT kind of capablity, right? Not that he was aware of, and he really didn't think it possible. Those powerful enough to change something like the weather with just a thought. No, that seemed to easy for a normal sized, non mega powerful person.

He pulled his head back, a concerned look upon his face. This Princess Tuuli person had said that about two memebers of their family? Why would she do that? What had they ever done to her to cause such a thought to come into her mind. Weren't princesses supposed to be smart and senseable?

"They didn't do anything!" he spoke, rasing his voice ever so slightly. "And-and they wouldn't plobt to kill flowers. Daddy doesn't have time for that." Not to mention that their father probably wouldn't care.

Of course, Axis loved all her siblings, but she cared a lot of Xerviree. Especially after he said that he wanted to give her his magic when they found out she was a Squib.

She tilted her head, nodding along to her brother's words. Daddy wouldn't ever do that. She couldn't exactly picture Saix wanting to kill flowers, of all things.

The pink kit however, continued to glare daggers at both of them. "Not your daddy maybe~ He's the one plotting. But how about your brother?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 30, 2008 8:34 pm

The glare that they were getting from the kit was pretty scary. Much scarier then daddy's normal grumpy face. Much much more. How could she continued to say these things? And how could she continue to accuse their father and brother of such things when they had told her they were false? They weren't lying.

"Daddy isn't plotting!" he whined, nudging Axis' neck a little for comfort. "And Xanul doesn't hurt the flowers. He's nice!" Oh what to do, he didn't know what to say to get the kit to listen. He floped back onto his haunches, fiddling with his flashlight. Turning it towards lace he shined the light in her face. Maybe she was some kind of gremlin in disguise or something, if she was the light would fix that.

His sister rested her chin on his head gently, hoping to calm him with the contact. "Dadda would never plot. And Xanny... Xanny wouldn't hurt a fly!" Their big brother was so nice and sweet to all of them; Axis couldn't imagine him being mean.

The kit yelped as the brown-haired kit turned the light towards her, shielding her eyes from it with a paw. "Fly? He hurt your mother once! You can ask him!" Her tone was indignant. How dare he treat her, a lady, this way?! There were rumors spreading around the Realm about it of course, as Ayako was a member of the Realm's most prominent families.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 31, 2008 1:47 pm

The blonde male took a deep breath, as his sister rested her chin on his head. It had calmed him slightly, and he nodded slowly in agreement with her. She was right, Xanul wouldn't hurt a fly. He would never do anything to hurt someone or something. He was a very very nice big brother and he knew that fact well.

Chocolate orbs grew wide, as the kit spoke. Another false statement, it had to be. "Brother woubldn't hurt mommy!" he couldn't imagine Xanul ever doing that to their mother. He loved their mother just as much as the rest of them. And that being the case he couldn't have ever hurt their mother. He refused to believe such a lie.

He fliped the light down to the kit's feet, disappointed that she hadn't turned into a puff of smoke and floated away. It would have been easier if she had been a monster in disguise, but no, it seemed as though she was 100% real. He wasn't sure what to say or do now, searching eyes glanced to his sister. Maybe she'd know what to tell Lace to make her stop lying about their family.

Axis herself couldn't imagine Xanul hurting Ayako either. All of the siblings respected and loved their mother a lot. Of course, she didn't make the connection between their older family members acting awkward around the topic of the full moon, and this. "Is it just a rumor? Rumors shouldn't be believed. They tend to exaggerate things." The problem nagging at her now was, what was exaggerated?

"But this rumor is real." The kit scoffed, removing her paw gingerly from her eyes when she was sure the light from the flashlight was gone. "It had something with your dad's powers passing down to him~" She wasn't exactly very sure, but the evil witch, a.k.a. Xianthe might have said something about it. Maybe.
