It was night, as Homura wandered off to gaze at the bright night sky. It soothe him to see the dark blanket that enveloped the sky. The small bright lights glittered against the blanket, and each light represented a life.. or so he preferred to think. He may have been a newcomer to these lands, but there was no doubt that the beings here wouldn't be much different from where he came.
"Everywhere, we have sinners and saints. As long as those people exist, Whats to be different?"
Despite his thoughts, He found that many being inhabited this land during the last few days. Very much unlike his own land, which had been evenly spaced. There seemed to be so much, that the land seemed not to have enough rooms for all of it's occupants. But even being surrounded by other strangers, "It's the same." He murmured, with his eyes closed as he lifted his head to the sky. His voice carried off by the wind into the vast night sky above. In his homeland, he was imprisoned and kept in a dark dungeon, knowing nothing. And it was the same here. He knew about nothing here.
So the question was, Would this land be cruel or fair? Mortal or immortal? Paradise or hell? It was certainly food for thought.
"I guess I'll just have to find out myself." He said to himself, his lips curving into a smile.

It was rare for one on a night such as this to see something like the pale white young mare traveling at a fair distance away from her home. Her tribe would have said it was dangerous for such an occasion, running around the rocky paths of the mountain, especially in the darkness. She also lacked the more acute night vision her peers had, but here she was, without a guide, wandering regardless.
She soon found small bits of grass forming between the rocks, and was immediately reminded of life on the real ground. Unlike the harsh cold, rocky stone floors she had lived through her life in the mountains, the grassy ground was soft, spongy, and almost supporting... She smiled and stopped momentarily, her attention turning to the moon. It was another night without the rainbow she had seen one night so many moons ago, the one special night that she would forever hold in her heart.
The mare's reminiscing ended just minutes later, when her senses brought her attention to a hushed voice in the darkness. It did not seem threatening, but rather speculative. Intrigued, she wandered to the source.
She found herself catching the dark figure's last comment when she arrived to the scene, and, with her trained sight, made it out to be another pale like herself--though a stallion, and not as pale. His hair glowed a beautiful purple in the moonlight, and his long tail trailed on the ground with eloquent style. Her gaze softened as she returned his words, "Find out what for youself?"
Stepping boldly forth into the light, so he too, could make better vision of her, the white mare started to slowly assess her new company.

The sounds of footsteps behind him, was hardly a surprise. He did not expect to be alone on this mountain, when so many other beings roamed about. "Is it not obvious?" He replied, in a chuckling manner. "I was simply wondering if this place anything like my homeland."
Giving the sky a last glance, he turned to face the stranger. The sight that greeted him.. was surprising. It was a white mare, with a crimson colored mane arranged in a feminine style. Her necklace consisted of green shards subsequently arranged. It was unlike any other stones that he had seen before.. But despite her appearance, she possessed a quality that led one to believe she was distinct from everyone else.
"And who might you be, child?" He inquired politely, with a inquisitive gaze. "Surely, it must be dangerous for one the likes of you, to be wandering so late at night." She may have been an adult in appearance, but she was still young. He was aware of the dangers that presented itself when night fell.

Surprising it was, to hear the stallion's response so forward and expecting. It was as if he had known she would come, and perhaps he was in tune with his surroundings that made it so.
She cocked her head to one side when he returned her inquiry, unsure of what he meant by it being obvious about what were his thoughts as he talked to the night air. She was new to most customs, ideas, and norms outside of her own culture. But then again, it seemed as if it was like that to the kind stallion before her as well...
"You are not from around here," she restated sympathetically as the stallion turned to face her finally.
She stood there as he watched her, and made no movement to provoke a break in the silent air. She embraced the comfort the moment brought her, and in turn, studied every part of the stallion herself. Despite her beginnings of settling in life as an adult, he exuded an aura that told her he was more experienced, wise, and of course, older than herself. She lowered her eyes slightly in due respect.
"I am Ayame," she replied, and though her respectful look was on, she was still watching the other with extreme care. "And I am not a child... anymore," she added firmly. Gone were the days of youthful abandon...
"I can handle myself, also, but thanks for your concern. I have trained long and hard through my life, and with that training, I am stronger than what you might think at first," Ayame said as she smiled slyly as she broke the still movement between the two by taking a few more steps towards the stranger. "But what are you doing here, on the mountain that I live on, and who are you, likewise? You don't suppose to intrude on its natural barriers? Though you wouldn't be getting very far if you kept talking to the empty sky like that..." she giggled jovially.

Considering his next words, There were a few moment's hesitation before he answered the mare. "..No. It would appear that I'm not from around here, as you can apparently see already." His lips curved into a small smile. He didn't think that his predicament would be revealed so easily, or quickly for that matter.
"Was it that recognizable?" He mused, his expression adopting one of amusement.
The mare's manners were polite yet she minced no words. She was straightforward and direct to the point. It was.. refreshing to say the least. The silence drifted through the air, as both soquilis remained silent. Perhaps she remained so, for the same reason as he. Despite that she concealed her intentions well, he felt her studying eyes upon him. He needed only, to consider whether she was friend or foe. Meanwhile, her purpose was of no concern to him.
"Ayame.." He repeated softly.. The name was well suited for her. Her words forced him to consider that she might not have been the child he assumed her to be, as he reflected on her actions. "Perhaps you aren't." He acknowledged, allowing his gaze settle upon Ayame. His body relaxed a bit, realizing that this soquili was of no threat or at least, did not intend to bring harm.
The still movement was indeed broken, as Ayame took a few steps closer to the stallion. It was a good start, instead of acting like two stiff strangers. "It could be said that I happened to chance along this mountain during the day, and I wish to take shelter here for a night?" The explanation offered, as the stallion's golden eye twinkled with amusement.
"But since you ask, and you have offered your name, Ayame.." He stated, "My name is Homura." The name alone was odd, but he was no longer the person of his former postion therefore he couldn't claim the title of 'war prince' any longer.
"Pray tell, the sky does make for good company if one has enough imagination." The statement was followed by a small chuckle of his own.

"You do seem lost," Ayame admitted, deciding to further explain, "These are the grounds of my... group. It's our territory, and though these are the boundaries of the extent of it, you're something new." She smiled and tilted her head fondly--it was a nice change of pace, though she knew she had to keep her focus on who she was, and who her people were, which was too unorthodox to let be known to any stranger passing by.
As she brought herself closer to the stranger, she nodded to his acknowledgment, taking in a delight to her heart. Many days and nights had gone by since a destined day had imparted to her the will to grow stronger in both body and mind until she was... good enough. She strove for much, and kindled the passion fire stirring in her soul until the next fated day came, but until then, she would keep training to fit into her adult role.
"Y-you were here during the day?" she inquired quietly, and suddenly realized what he had just said. The question of whether he had seen her tribe came to mind; but he mustn't have caught sight of any one of them, else she would have heard of a wanderer while she was socializing with the elders earlier that day. Ayame looked at the stallion in mild abashment when he mentioned staying overnight, the thought of where exactly he would stay crossing her mind.
When Homura offered his name, Ayame nodded once in recognition, almost in a bowing-like manner. "Homura..." she whispered, putting a smile on her soft expression, able to be seen visibly in the moonlight, "It is a handsome name..."
"But..." she looked away, unsure of what to tell the stallion before her, as if he was caught nearing the home of her tribes, there might be a small conflict, to say the least. In midst of her pondering, Ayame failed to hear his musing words, though no doubt it would have humored her. "You plan to stay overnight... Here?" she decided to reconfirm.

With silent observation, Homura's intuition warned him that .. Ayame appeared to be more than she allowed him to let on. "But I'm also the same.." he reminded himself, wryly. And so were most other soquili. Everyone has a secret or two, they wish to kept hidden.
Unlike his views, many other soquili viewed females to be unsuitable for the position leadership. By her words alone, "my group" implied that she was one of such high ranking. "When your refer to your group, It does lead one to the conclusion that perhaps you are the leader of some sort of .." His words faltered for a moment, as he struggled to come up with a suitable word ".. tribe?" As he pictured Ayame, The image came easily to mind.
As she stepped closer, covering some distance between the two soquilis, he gave her what appeared to be an amused smile. It was obvious that she took pride in herself. But he felt his eyes hardening when Ayame complimented him upon his name. "By no means, is it a handsome name." He thought to himself silently, with scorn. Afterall, it was the name of an outcast.
Relieved for the change of subject, "I was indeed here during the day." He repeated, reconfirming her words. The worry in the mare's eyes and expression failed in escaping his notice, as he raised an eyebrow. "I hope my stay here won't cause a problem, will it, Ayame?" He remarked, with a speculative glance before glancing away. In a way, he was taunting her for more information, and he knew it well.
