AIM Log - Felyn & iPao Persaon x Amadi It was just an average sort of day really, no sort of excitement, no one around for him to get his thrills. He was actually finding it to be a bit of a drag, although he had to admit that he seemed to have quite a few of those - especially when there was no one about he was trying to work a pretty little piece of treasure from. A soft groan escaped his mug as he rolled over onto his back, staring up at the sky from where he lay atop a great, wide stone. There were a few clouds in the sky, lazily rolling across the blue blanket and blotting out the sun for a moment here or there. "Well, that one there looks a bit like a bunny," he said boredly, "perhaps with.. antlers of some sort, and a lizard tail." He snorted to himself, pale eyes drifting to another. No, it wasn't very fun, especially alone, but he needed something to keep himself from going crazy."Lazy day, lazy day," young Amadi hummed to himself, making his way around an area with a few large stones about. He's just woken from a particularly pleasant nap, and his energy level was higher than what could be considered his norm. Too bad, he usually thought when he was like this, he had nothing to spend his energy on. "Just another lazy day," he continued, brick red orbs darting from one boulder to another in hopes of seeing something interesting to, in his terms, un-laze the day. It only took another moment or two for him to widen his smile, upon seeing a figure lying atop a stone only several feet from where he now stood. Though he was in a good state of mind, he couldn't help but feel lonely and obliviously approached the figure on the stone. He wanted company. He needed it. He was just a cub, after all, and being deprived of other cubs to play with, he decided he'd settle for the next best thing. Anybody. "Hi!" he soon greeted anxiously. The little leopon cub took a seat at the foot of the stone, eyes shimmering with delight that he'd finally run into somebody he could play with.Persaon's mouth pursed as he heard the word, eyes shifting over the clouds momentarily. Then, with a frown, he rolled over onto his belly with a bit of a flop. He shifted his pale eyes across the ground until he found the little creature that had spoken to him and was actually quite surprised to find the rather blindingly yellow male that sat there. Instinctually, he looked around for a female close by. Female's always were protective of their young, and he certainly didn't want a paw to the head. Seeing not another soul, he decided that he had no worry of an angry mother, and though that was slightly troubling, he figured that a cub was just as good as any other to still his boredom. "Hello there, squirt," he said, peering down at him from his perch atop the short slab of granite, "what're you doing so far out by yourself?"His eyes brightened when the larger male finally acknowledged him, happy to know that he wouldn't be ignored, and with the nice enough greeting, he wasn't being too much of a bother. Amadi tilted his head slightly at the term the leopard had used though. "Squirt?" he repeated. "What's a 'squirt'?" He went quiet for a bit, attempting to gather what he could into his little mind about the word, but came to nothing. So he let it hang in the air and smiled again. "Iunno," he answered soon afterward, "I just remembered Momma said she'd be back for me, but she never came back. So I thought maybe she got lost, so I'm looking for her." The cub inhaled deeply, as he said it all in one breath, and without any sort of sorrow in his voice. In fact, he seemed rather cheery about it. "What about you mister?"Persaon narrowed his eyes at the little fellow incredulously. Why didn't he know what a 'squirt' was? Then again, when Persaon started to think about it, he supposed that he was just a cub after all and that perhaps his mother wasn't real big on the slang terms. "A 'squirt' is a.. word used to describe little creatures, or young creatures, and you just happen to be both." "She.. what?" he blinked, tilting his head and staring at the cub from the corner of his eye. The female'd just walked off and left the bugger? Hell, that had to be bad luck if he'd ever heard it. He wondered how long the boy'd been looking for her. "She just left you out her, all by yourself?" His next words simply caused a slight shrug, "I'm just passing through myself."

"Oh..." he said, his maw forming a big "o" as he said it. And he laughed a little, still ecstatic about finally having company. "Well...I'm not that little ya know." He made an angry, sort of pouty face and puffed up his chest as best he could, trying to show that he wasn't all that little. He didn't quite get that to a fully grown leopard, now matter how big he puffed up his chest, he'd still look like a little blinding puffball of a cub. But still he tried. "See?" he strained to say when he was as puffed as he could be without exploding. "Not. That...little." He let all the air out, of course, and sighed. "Yah-huh," he replied. "She said that big boys could stay put for a few days. And that she'd come back before it was time for everybody to sleep." He stood and walked up closer to the stone, now trying his hand at climbing it. "But," he went on. "If she gotted lost, she can't come and get me. So I have to find her..." his voice died out though. All of his focus was now on getting atop the slab of stone, so he never heard the male's reply.
Persaon laughed at the little male's attempt to puff himself, making him look even more like a little blinding ball of fuzz. His chuckles were stifled as he nodded slowly at what the other was saying. "Well, maybe you're not all that small, but you're still not very big. Not that it matters too much - I'm sure you'll grow up to be big and strong." He frowned at him now, as if noticing his figure for the first time. He looked a little like a leopard, but kind of strange at the same time. He couldn't have told him what sort of big and strong creature he'd grow into, cause he'd never seen his likes before. "Oh, very true," he said slowly, eyebrows knitting even further. He had no idea what to say to the kid, especially since it seemed to him like it wasn't very likely his mom was coming back. That, or perhaps he'd wandered too far now for the girl to find him. He turned his attention instead to the little bugger as he tried to scramble up, "what're you doing, squirt?"
Amadi held off on answering any questions, though he heard them and tried to keep them in mind for later. He was almost up, actually, then one wrong step later he slid back down the side of the boulder and landed promptly on his rear end. The little leopon whined, then batted at the stone. "Dumb thing..." he muttered. And with a frown he looked up at the leopard again. "I was tryin'a get up there with you." But he stayed down, having landed on his tail which now ached a little bit. "Maybe I am too little..." he continued, lowering his head and pushing the dirt under his paw into a small pile. Then, determination coming back, he looked at the slab before him and narrowed his eyes at it. "But when I'm older," he said. "I'll be able to climb big things like this. And things that are way bigger too!" The cub laughed aloud, his smile returning, and he now began to wonder what to call his large new friend. Neither of them had offered their names, but somehow the leopard had found a sort of nickname for him. "Hey," he started slowly. "So...if I'm a squirt, what does that make you?"
Persaon frowned as the little bugger had almost gotten up and then fallen. Well, that certainly wasn't very good. He had to admit he felt a little bad that he was too small to clamber up here - it wasn't more than a large step for him really. With a sigh, he leaned over to pick the little cub up by his scruff, then calmly plopped him onto the rock beside him. "There you go," he said with a lopsided smile, "now you're up here." "You'll be able to do it one day, don't worry," he said with a weak smile, nudging the cub in the shoulder with his paw lightly. "We all have to learn how to do things as we get older - it's part of the fun of growing up." Or at least he supposed it was. He relaxed back against the slab now, tail flickering as he tried to decide how to answer that question. "I dunno. My name's Persaon, but I suppise if you're a squirt, then maybe.. I'm a giant?" He chuckled, turning the pale eyes back onto his form.
Amadi plopped down on the rock his new friend had set him on, a sort of embarassed look on his face. "I hate being small.." he mumbled, then quickly shrugged it off, taking to heart what the large leopard said about growing up. "But one day," he said with a smile. "Like you said." And he went quiet for a while, listening intently to Persaon. "Persaon, huh?" he said, testing the name on his tongue. It didn't seem to roll off as easily as compared to when he said his own name, he thought, but it certainly had a ring to it. "That's a cool name." He thought to mention his own name, but had already grown fond of being called a 'squirt' so chose not to. "Giant makes sense too, but I like your real name better." And the little cub laughed again, though slightly weaker than before. He was feeling more tired now, having drained most of his built up energy on his failed attempt to climb the rock.

"Yeah, I think I like it better too," he said with a chuckle, letting his eyes drift to the clouds for a moment. He was having quite the little conflict of interests now that he was here with this cub. A few hours ago, he never would have even thought about this. Persaon was a thief - but that didn't mean that he was completely heartless. Leaving a cub alone like this was not something that even he could do. He knew the chances of him surviving without any form of help from an adult. He sighed, looking back down at the bright form sitting next to his paler one. He saw the signs of exhaustion, the first tell-tale hints of sleepiness. "Hey, squirt, what'd ya say if I offered to let you tag-along until we run into your mom, hm?"
Amadi's ears perked up at his words, and the cub looked up at Persaon with a curious face. He started to stand, but he was tired, and naturally a bit clumsy, so he slipped (again) and slid down the boulder, tumbling a little bit further once he hit the ground. But he seemed unphased, and he got right back up, eyes bright. "Really!?" And it wasn't even the fact that he'd most likely have a regular supply of food and protection. It was more...he'd have somebody to play with. For days on end! "It'd be really nice if I could," he replied. "Momma's probably really worried about me..." And Amadi smiled, a very grateful smile, up at Persaon. "I'm sure Momma'd give you a prize when we run into her," he said. "And she'll be really proud of me, for finding her! And she won't be lost anymore! And...and.." And he stopped mid-sentence to yawn, rubbing an eye with his paw. "And then we'll be a family again."
He smiled weakly down at the cub, unable to bring himself to tell him that he wasn't likely going to see his mother again. For now, though, he didn't think he could break the cub's little heart. He simply nodded, and smiled, "you'll have a family again, I promise." He would find him somewhere to belong, even if it wasn't where the cub thought - but that was all he could do for him. If they found his mother, it would be something of pure coincidence, he was sure. He didn't even know if the fem would want to run into the poor thing. He just hoped, deep down, that there weren't any siblings wandering alone out there. He could save this one, help him, but that would be all. "I'm sure she'll be very happy when you see her, but I won't need a prize," he said with a chuckle reaching down to pick the poor cub back up again. "Now, though, I think you should take a little nap. Then we'll start our adventure, ok squirt?"
"Mmm...nap sounds good..." he answered. The little cub gave another yawn, wanting to fight back but unable to as exhaustion soon took over. "Family..." he said weakly, closing his eyes where the leopard put him down. "Remember," he tried to continue, though his voice was now almost inaudible. "You promised..." and he fell asleep. It'd probably be the best nap he's had in a while, that was for sure.
He watched him with that weak smile as the cub started to drift off to sleep. He had no idea what he'd just gotten himself into, but he knew that he would have felt even worse had he left the cub alone to battle the world alone. He shifted, putting a paw over the boy and pulling him a little closer. With a soft sigh, and a nod, he looked down upon him. "I promised," he whispered, then settled down to wait.
