I realise I haven't posted in awhile but I've been reading other stuff and I've been playing some WoW and watching some live comedy... side note whilst I'm typing, why is my computer DLing widget stuff? I don't have a widget? what the hell is a widget?
Back on topic, sorry... I just picked up the ninth comic and Malcolm doesn't look right. They got the hair down but he looks too old. And that dude that was taking down the appointment for Anita to see Malcolm.. They did that wrong. It shoulda been frame "Nine tonight, Anita Blake, murder." as it was and then frame his face kinda with the expression of "er, uh" and carry on. When Ronnie and Anita shot that bloke... did you notice? they sat right down next to the corpse to wait for the police? I thought that was funny.
The story actually seemed longer in this comic than the others, not as many ads at the back. That's a plus.
Also, not sure I'm liking the picture of the bloody Phillip. I mean yeah, blood = good and Nicolaos = creepy b***h girl but... where were his wounds? I see no big gaping wounds I just see blood. Is that creepy of me?
Maybe I've not read the book in awhile so these are only small gripes and Zebrowski, though he's not in this one, he still looks wrong.
And I like rereading these comics, all of them, well.. not so much READING them again as just carefully turning the pages to look at the artwork. It is good even if I disagree with how some of the characters look.
My favourite picture, you ask? Well, I don't have a scanner so I'll do my best to describe it... Comic 8, several pages in, Anita in the shower. So I'm a jerk, nothing new there, but it's good art. It shows without showing.
So, with lots of ranting inbetween and talking about nothing... what's your fave pic from the comics? And, whilst I'm at it, what's your least fave?
Least fave, off the top of my head (not that one), would be the hairy dude in the harness... coulda done without that.
Another side note, this one kinda on the topic of the art, anyone else notice the change? It was all dark and broody in the first few.. and, whilst the latest isn't exactly light and fluffy.. you get what I mean?
So... questions? comments? pictures of boobies? Please share.

I for one, LOVE the art style the comics are in. And compared to how it COULD have gone, I'm very pleased with how the characters were portrayed/drawn. For the most part, they are accurate, and they don't deviate from the story that much.

They got Edward dead on. Anita's pretty close. Jean Claude too. Only complaint as far as he goes is that's he's just a bit too muscled. I guess that comes from me liking my guys skinny and toned, not all beefcaked out. I'm interested to see what they do with Nathaniel. That'll make it or break it for me. Too bad he doesn't come around for so long. I'll be dead and gone by the time they make it to those books!

I don't think Nathaniel is going to be in the comics for a long time seeing how they're on contract only to do the first three books. Who knows if they go beyond Circus of the Damned?
