Peter Cottontail walked cautiously through a meadow, pausing ever so often to crouch down and hide something bright in the grass before moving on. His ears twitched nervously, listening for anyone that might be approaching, though for him this was almost laid-back. Any other time of year he wouldn't be out in the open at all, but at the moment, he was in his element.

Hiromi had been wandering around that day, bored for the most part. That was, until she saw a butterfly. "Oh!" She exclaimed excitedly, her eyes widening and her tail beginning to wag behind her. The butterfly, a Tiger Swallowtail, fluttered in front of her before making it's way through the trees.
"Wait! Come back!" Quickly, Hiromi followed after it, not seeing that the bushes hid a small overhang. Without thinking, she crashed through the bushes and yelped, finding that the ground was farther below her than before, then fell. Expecting a hard landing, she was rather surprised to have landed on something quite... soft. Blinking, confused, she realized she fell on top of another Namir. "Sorry!"

Peter gasped in surprise as he felt something land on top of him, and once he felt the pressure let up, he scrambled to his feet, his coat all dirty and his eyes wide and frightened. Usually he ran away from anyone he didn't know, but as luck would have it, it was the only time of year when he was just a little bit braver and more sociable than usual.
He brushes his coat off as best he could and cleared his throat. "That is quite alright. I hope you are not hurt; you must have fallen a considerable ways."

Hiromi scrambled to regain herself on her paws, quickly trying to scavange the last little bit of dignety. Shaking the dirt from her fur in a full-body shake down, she looked to see who it was she'd fallen on and nearly yelped.
"P-peter?" She stuttered a bit, recognizing the Namir. "Oh no, I'm so sorry, Peter! I hope I didn't hurt you!" Her ears pressed back against her head, a bit unsure of herself. She had fully forgotten about her little fall.

Peter's eyes widened as he took a good look at the Namir who had fallen on him. He remembered her; she had tried to chase him out of a bush and when he had run off, she had cried, and he had felt awful. He would rather give others joy than make them cry.
He managed a smile and swished a front paw. "No no, I am not hurt. Even better, none of the eggs were smashed." He parted a small clump of grass beside him to show Hiromi the colorful egg hidden there.

Hiromi blinked, then smiled, giving a sigh of reliefe. She was so happy that he wasn't mad. "I'm so glad you aren't hurt..."
The colors hidden in the clump of grass caught her eyes and she carefully got closer to the eggs. "Wow, they're really pretty! Are they real eggs? I'm so glad they weren't hurt...."

Peter smiled. "I am glad you like them. I paint them myself, then I hide them out in the open for others to find. They are real eggs, but the ones that I put out here are hard-boiled; you can eat them. I have several different kinds of eggs, but these are the best for hiding outside." He smiled and blinked in surprise; he couldn't recall ever saying so much in his entire life.

Hiromi's eyes grew wide as he told her about how he did everything himself. "Wow, you painted these? They're so beautiful! I wish I knew how to paint eggs, that would be so much fun...."
Tilting her head, she looked at Peter curiously. "Hard boiled? How can an egg be hard boiled?" She'd never heard of an egg being prepared like that.

Peter smiled. "Well, it is not very difficult once you know how; all a matter of finding the right colors. Fruit works especially well and sometimes adds a hint of flavor." He poked his tongue out of the side of his mouth, trying to recall the hard-boiling process. "Well......you take ordinary eggs and place them in boiling water, once you make sure there are no baby chicks in them, of course, and then you can eat them without making a mess."

"Woooooow." Hiromi was clearly enthralled by what Peter was telling her. "That sounds so cool! You have the coolest job EVER!" Her tail wagged a bit and very carefully she rolled an egg towards her with her paw. "I'd never be able to eat one though, the art work is much too beautiful...."

Peter looked surprised. "But if no one ate them, then they would go to waste, because they do not last forever. " He wrinkled his little nose. "And there are not many unpleasant smells in the world that would stand up to the smell of rotten egg." He smiled at Hiromi. "Besides, once they are gone, I have an entire year to think up new designs to paint on them." ^^

Hiromi had to agree with Peter on the horrible smell of a rotten egg. She'd found a regular egg that had sat out in the sun for too long and accidentally broken it open. Well, let's just say that she could not have run faster to get away from that smell.
"So.... how do I eat it? Do I just bite into it?" She sniffed the egg, then licked the painted shell, confused.

Peter smiled at Hiromi. "All you have to do is peel off the shell and eat it. You may eat the skin; it will not hurt you; only the shell is not edible." He smiled wider as Hiromi licked the shell. "It may leave your tongue with some interesting colors, but the shell will not taste good."

Hiromi stopped licking the shell as Peter gave her instructions on how to go about eating the eggs. She then grinned and stuck her tongue out to Peter. "Is it funny colors yet?"

Peter craned his neck and looked. "No, I do not believe so. You probably have to eat quite a few to turn your tongue colors; if I used color strong enough to turn your tongue colors from eating one egg, I would fear for those who ate them." XD
