 Via sighed as she wandered toward the lake, wondering where Ioni had gotten off to. Hopefully the pegasus would have new things to tell her. Lately he'd been flying farther and farther away from the usual lands. He'd even been flying over the human lands. What she'd heard, was fasinating. How she wished she could see the places and things her friend had seen. But, until they found a way to get to the humans without wings, she'd be stuck with listening to tales from her best friend. Suddenly, she came to a halt, looking at Ioni in surprise. What was he doing here? Then she noticed the odd looking thing he was holding with care in his mouth. "Ioni? What's that thing?"

 Ioni looked up in suprise. He sighed quietly in disappointment, "It was supposed to be a surprise." He grumbled before smiling, setting the scarf down infront of his friend. "You remember how I told that when the humans get cold they wear funny long things around their necks? I got one for you. They're called...scarfs! Yeah." He smiled at the spotted unicorn. "Do you like it?" Suddenly he was worried. What if Via didn't like it?

Via was quiet for a moment as she bent to examine the brightly colored cloth. "You went through this trouble for me?" She asked, before gently picking up the purple and green clothing. "Of course I like it Ioni! I love it. It's beautiful." The unicorn slung it over her neck, stepping forward to nuzzle Ioni.

Ioni sighed in relief, hesitating before returning the nuzzle. "Well, since you can't go over there and see it yourself, I figured I'd just bring you whatever I could. I thought you'd like this. Do you want me to help you tie it?" He asked hopefully, smiling and stepping forward. Good, he figured that this would make Via happy.

Via nodded, grinning widely at her best friend. "You're so nice Ioni. And so thoughtful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She couldn't believe it. Ioni did so much for her. Told her stories about places she couldn't reach and now brought her a beautiful and prizeless gift.

Ioni grinned. "Really Via, it wasn't that hard." He smiled at Via before stepping forward to carefully take one end of the gift in his teeth and loop it over the other end. Then he reached through the loop to pull the other end up, forming a loose knot. Ioni found a pit of happiness in his stomach at just how close he was to the other.

Via shook her head, "I don't care if it wasn't hard. You cared enough to bring it back. I'm so glad that you did." She rested her cheek against his shoulder, careful not to p***k him with her horn. "How could I ever repay you?" She found herself just as happy to be close to him as Ioni was happy was to be near her. "I know! How do apples sound?"

Ioni smiled, nodding. "Yes. Apples sound wonderful." Lately he and she had found themselves closer and closer. "I'm assuming you're going to get some?" The pegasus pulled away, layinng down. "You look very beautiful in that scarf, did you know?" He asked, smiling softly.

"Yes, yes. I'll get them." She stated, shifting excitedly in place. The scarf around her neck had made her so happy even more so since it was a gift from Ioni. At his question, Via blinked, startled. "Wha- what? Me? B-beautiful?" She blushed under her fur.

"Yes, Via. Beautiful." Ioni stood, grinning at his friend. "Although... You know what, I don't think the scarf has much to do with that." Though the pegasus wasn't trying to show it, he was nervous out of his mind. He had never tried flirting before, least of all with Via. Of course it did make it a tiny bit easier with the fact that Via was his lifelong friend and that he was pretty sure he'd fallen in love with her.

Via stared in shock. Ioni had never said anything like that before. "Ioni? Do you really mean that? Or are you just teasing?" She didn't think Ioni would ever do something like that, so he must mean it, right? She so hoped that he meant what he was saying. Via too had realized that she loved her friend. Maybe he felt the same way...

Ioni frowned slightly. "Of course I mean it. Why wouldn't I? You're very beautiful and you always have been." He smiled warmly, stepping forward to very gently nuzzle his friend's cheek. "You know, Via, I have to say... I've always loved you, but now, now it's not brotherly love...." He trailed off, watching Via for her response. Hopefully... Hopefully she'd take that well...

"You love me as more than a sister?" Via asked softly for clarification. "What do you mean?" Of course she knew what he meant but, she just couldn't believe it. He really felt the same way? She didn't believe it. "Ioni?" The unicorn didn't pull away from his caress, instead staring at him with a mix of confusion and joy.

Now Ioni was wishing he'd kept his mouth shut. If Via didn't accept his love, then... His relationship with Via would be changed, and maybe not for the best... "Yes Via. I... I think I love you." He watched her face carefully, frowning quietly. "Is that okay?"

Via realized that Ioni was worried. "Yes. Yes, of course that's okay. Ioni, I- I think I love you too." She smiled, returning the gentle nuzzle now. "I've been wondering how to tell you for... For a while now. I just didn't know how to tell you." The unicorn smiled widely. "I'm so happy that you feel the same Ioni."
