Terema padded mindfully towards her families den, her eyes a little glazed. She was deep in thought about a thousand and one things, a hundred questions skipping through her mind each of which she tried to rationalise. The most important question of all, popping up over and over again until she decided, it was one for mama or papa to answer.

Terema was never quiet in her approach to the den, infact, she was never quiet full stop, her paws tap danced along making any leaves or other ruffage shift, creating some rather nice, but often noisey sounds. It was then that with a noisey flump she pounced in to the main den area her bright, glistening blue eyes wide and her smile spread wide upon her cubbish features.

"Mama? Papa?" She called hop skipping on the spot, excited to speak to one or the other, or both of her parents about her pressing question.

Tawa'di was lurking around in the cave. He had never realized just how difficult it was to raise cubs, or all the energy it took! He was resting today, letting his little kids run wherever they wanted to as he would watch the ones that wanted to stay inside of their cave. Mana was nearby, and that settled his mind for this nice day of relaxation.

Mana's ears swiveled around as she heard the chirps of one of her daughters. She could recognize all of her children by the sounds of their voices. "Terema? We are here," she said quietly, keeping to the mouth of the den as Tawa'di reclined in the cool area in the back of the den. It was a warm, bright day, and Tawa'di needed to be careful with his body temperature on the much warmer days like these. Not that he'd actually listen to me, she thought with a snort, men were always the same, no matter their age!

Terema giggled and bounced up to her mother, her tiny paws tapping up a storm as she placed herself without any hesitation upon one of ehr mothers paws, sitting up so her forepaws kneeded against her mothers leg she puurrs happily nuzzling the soft yellow fur before she spoke. "I has questions mama!" She stated rather simply, her perfect blue eyes shimmering in the light that shone in to the den.

"I seed loooottsssssssss of lions today, like this manys" she holds out her forepaws her tiny toes seperated, she was acctually exaggerating, but being unable to count yet holding up her toes simply meant between one and an innumerable amount.

"There was a boyyyyss and a girrlls an, tha boys theys had lotsa floofs like daddy has." She holds out her paws at the side of her head and fluffs her cheeks out to demonstrate. "But tha girls, theys didn' has no wings like you mama, why does she nots has wings?" She tilts her head softly, curiosity shimmering in her baby blue orbs.

Tawa'di couldn't help but emit a chuckle as he noticed that his daughter was full of questions again. Tawa'di never had a problem with questions, as it was the quickest way to learn, but she seemed to have an endless supply of them.

He listened patiently as she threw out her questions, his ear flicking at the question about wings. True, while Mana did not hide her wings, it wasn't like the children knew exactly what she was unless they asked her. That was her business to explain, not him, even if he had known her for quite some time.

The goddess' green eyes met her daughter's blue ones. "Oh? So there are tons of lions out there then?" She couldn't help but smile at that. As long as she was safe, the goddess didn't mind. Sure, being a mother would make her protective, but she also didn't want to keep her children locked in the cave, unable to explore the world around them.

"Hmmm...." she said after a moment, listening to Terema's questions. "That's quite a question, isn't it? Well, there can be plenty of reasons for this, can't there?" She wanted to see if her daughter would take a guess before telling her.

Terema looked deeply thoughtful, her soft, baby blue eyes full of these new questions that her mother gave her. She slowly took them in and let them mull about her childish mind until she came to a conclusion all on her own.

"Cause their mamas doesn't has wings like mine does?" She tilted her head to the side, this seemed like a fairly plausable explination, though she thought all older girls had wings, all boys had the fluff like daddy, so she would get wings right?

"But when I grows up I'll has wings? Cause you has wings? All the boys has a floof so boys gets floof an' girls gets purty wings like their mamas right?" She peered up at her mother her bright blue eyes expecting and seemingly knowing the answer had to be yes, it was the only way to explain why she didn't have wings yet.

Oh dear. It seemed like Terema was a little confused on things. Tawa'di would take the boys side of it, though, and let Mana deal with the wings issue. Mainly because he wasn't quite sure on how to handle it, and he knew a little more about the boys.

"Well, most boys grow in their manes," he said with a chuckle. "Some more than others." He swished his tail behind him, letting it flop around on the floor. He motioned for Terema to lay next to him, though he wasn't sure if she'd notice. Her mind must be racing with so many playful thoughts!

Mana sighed inwardly, unsure as how to explain this. As some of her children might have guessed, she was certainly different and never bothered to hide her immortal status. It would be unfair if she had.

"I'm afraid not, dearheart," she said softly, letting her wings stretch out over the ground. "Since your mother is very different from other mothers."

It would break her heart once she did leave the lands. Even her children wouldn't be able to tame her, the tug of the constant winds over all the land too much to keep her grounded. Granted she would wait until they were fully grown, and even then she would visit often.

Terema looked at her daddy happily, she did notice his call so she went and flopped down next to him, resting her tiny paws on one of his forelegs. She gazed up at her father her big blue eyes fixed on his mane, which was a little difficult to resist playing with. Odd strands tickled ehr nose and she giggled, letting a small sneeze racke her body before she snuggled in to him to absorb his question.

Of course, the inevitable pout had to come when her mother said she wouldn't get wings. "But..I want pretty wings." She squeeks looking up to her father hopeing he would have an answer only to turn back to her sparkling winged mother, so beautiful, so graceful.

She snuffled a bit burying her little peach nose in to her fathers thick mane as she let the truth sink in, she wouldn't get a pretty floof like daddy,s he wouldn't get pretty wings like mama, what would she get then?

"Will I has a special thingie when I grows up mama? I wants to be specialer than the boys with their floofs." She lifted a paw and brushed away the crocodile tears, she wasn't too happy with the revelation but maybe she would have somethign even better than a floof, a floof had to be pretty hot any ways, she didn't want a floof. She did want soemthing though, anything to make her stand out, to make her special like hher mama was special with her wings.

Tawa'di let his eyes rest on his child, knowing that her questions ran deeper than she probably realized. All children wanted to be special, and only when they grew would they realize that. He lowered his head a little, grooming the top of Terema's head slowly. She probably wouldn't be too pleased with such a movement, as most children despised a quick bath, but it was more of a movement for comfort than anything.

Mana's matching green eyes sparkled as she smiled. Oh, to be young! She couldn't even remember a time like that anymore. Once you had lived as long as she did, you would really live through others. She nestled her wings closer to her body, letting herself lie next to Tawa'di.

"Well, my Terema, you will be special." Mana knew about the seer powers that any mortal child of a god would carry. That was something she would tell her later, whether she showed signs of it or not. "Don't you see how you stand out from your sibilings? Nothing bad, sweetheart, but it will be good. You've got a strong heart and a kind soul."

"Don't forget that way you move around, now." Tawa'di didn't understand it himself, but if it made his daughter happy, then he would encourage it.

Terema looked from her father to her mother sitting still while he groomed her, she didn't particularly mind this show of affection, especially at this moment, she wanted to understand and felt saddened that she didn't really.

She would be special. A little smile played on ehr maw as her paws once again picked up a tiny beat which rolled along her fathers large leg, her tiny feet almost creating a massage for her father.

Leaning in to his big mane she cuddled up to him, burying half of ehr body beneath his thick greying mane.

"So..I'll be extraspecialer than my brothers an' sisters cause I am different?" She piped, a smile spreading wide across her young face. The thought of this made her tiny chest puff out, pride sparkling in those crystalline blue eyes. "An I has happy feet." She giggles nestling in to the crook of her fathers foreleg her perfect blue eyes closing to the world.

"Extraspecialer." She coos finally pleased with the answers she had gotten from her parents, pleased enough to take a little nap in the company of just her mother and father for a change.

Tawa'di nudged his daughter before she dozed off, content that their words had worked well. She would certainly grow up to be something special. As she dozed off, he turned to look at Mana. "Well, that went better than I thought. Once she gets an idea in her head...well, it's certainly admirable."

Mana shook her head, but there was a smile still on her face. "She'll figure it out once she grows up. All children are born with something only they can do; she'll just have to figure it out." That was part of the joys of childhood; everything was open to you. She envied that, as she knew she'd never experience it; she'd just have to watch her children as they went through it themselves. That was part of the curse of being an immortal.

Aaah, the wisdom of the ages. Tawa'di chuckled as he lowered his head to rest around his daughter. "We shall see." He only hoped that he could, but he knew that his time was limited.

Mana bobbed her head before heading out, wanting to make sure that the rest of her little herd of cubs was safe. It still amazed her how they managed to have so many. She felt blessed from powers perhaps higher than her that she was able to give Tawa'di what he so desired for so many years; a loving family.
